Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
Town: Bodmin, Cornwall's former county town, features tiny streets, shops, and pubs, making it a great base for exploring the area. The excellent surf, steep cliffs, and secret coves of the north coast beaches and the gentler sands and river estuaries of the south coast are both 15 miles apart, and the ancient Bodmin Jail lies on the outside of town. The Camel Trail passes through town on its route to Padstow. Bodmin Moor is nearby, as are the Eden Project (11 miles), Falmouth's National Maritime Museum (30 miles), and Padstow (16 miles) with its bars and eateries. Lanhydrock House, Fowey, Charlestown with its Tall Ships, The Eden Project, and Lostwithiel are also nearby. Country bars and eateries are plenty around.
