First, the good: the property was clean and pleasant, and the location was great, just as the listing described.
However, getting to the point of actually being in the property took much longer and was more stressful than needed.
First, I think it is important to know that this property has a physical scan key. You need the key to use the elevator, access the parking garage, get to the room, etc. However, we didn't have the key before checking in, and therefore I was stuck in the lobby of the condo.
I checked my email, which stated, "Here are your keys to your property". After reading the email carefully (which, unfortunately I did not do before leaving), it stated that the keys would be mailed to me. That's a problem for two reasons. First, I definitely did not have the keys mailed to me. Second, I don't remember giving my address so they could mail me the keys. Either way, I definitely did not have the electronic keys.
The first thing I did was call the host. The call went directly to voice mail, and I left a message.
After waiting around and kicking myself for not reading the email, and VRBO for not making the key thing more clear, I saw a number for security in the lobby area. I called security and pleaded our case, and, to their credit, they came over to talk with us. Evenutally, security let us in, and the owner did call back, but it was WAY more stressful than it should have.
Also, I still have never received a key in the mail.
