Period Property in a Superb Setting with Spectacular Views | Pen-Y-Garnedd
Surrounded by fields with a picturesque mountain backdrop, Pen-Y-Garnedd is a wonderful period property in a superb setting with spectacular views. Sleeping up to twelve people across five bedrooms, this is the perfect property for a large family or group wanting to socialise in a stunning location outside of Porthmadog. The period property retains some of its character features whilst adding modern touches to the decor, and boasts plenty of outdoor space and seating.
A porch leads into a stunning hallway with patterned Victorian tiled flooring and decorative glass chandeliers. To the left, a doorway opens into a fabulous kitchen and breakfast room. A U-shaped counter including a breakfast bar with four stools sits to one end of the room. The kitchen units, with wood finishes and a tiled splashback, are stylish and include a gas hob sitting alongside an eye level oven and grill. With a toaster, kettle and microwave there is plenty of space to cook up meals for the group in this social space. To the other end of the room, a breakfast table seats six alongside a fridge freezer and a rustic feature wall constructed from logs.
Across the hallway, a bright and spacious lounge diner is the perfect socialising space. With picture windows either side of French doors overlooking the garden, an open staircase creates a natural divider between the lounge and dining areas. The comfortable lounge includes three grey fabric Chesterfield style sofas centred around a cosy fireplace with log burner and wall mounted Smart TV. Stone columns line the external wall, with dark wooden ceiling beams, creating a contrast between the modern finishes to the remainder of the space. The dining area sits alongside one of the picture windows with a marble effect dining table that seats ten. Historic paintings in brass frames line the wall, adding charm and character to the room.
Completing the ground floor layout, the rear of the property features a fabulous large family bedroom with a double bed, two singles and an en-suite shower room. With a thick grey carpet to the floor, the grey tones are also picked up in the remainder of the decors and furnishings including the wooden framed beds, wardrobe and bedside cabinets. The en-suite is compact with a corner shower cubicle, basin and WC.
Climbing the stairs to the first floor of this period property in a superb setting with spectacular views, the layout comprises four further bedrooms, including an en-suite and an additional family bathroom. Three double bedrooms are similarly decorated in modern grey tones, with a splash of colour on the bedding and soft furnishings differentiating the rooms. All three double rooms feature ample clothes storage in the form of wardrobes, chests and bedside cabinets. The fifth bedroom of the property features a set of bunks, ideal for smaller children. The views from upstairs in Pen-Y-Garnedd are fabulous, with mountains to one side and sea views to the other.
A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome at this property at an additional charge of £40 per pet.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt
The rural setting of this property makes it ideal for guests wanting a quiet escape. Although there are other properties nearby, there is a sense of privacy thanks to the location away from main roads and the wonderful landscaped garden. A lovely tiled patio is accessed directly from the lounge with patio seating to both sides of a pathway leading further into the garden. Stepping down onto a tidy lawn area, there are further landscaped areas with decorative pots, shaded areas under large established trees and a further patio seating space. It's a wonderful garden to gather together on sunny evenings to catch up on the day.
The location of this period property in a superb setting with spectacular views makes it ideal for exploring North West Wales, whether it's the coast or mountains. At only three miles from Porthmadog and Criccieth, there's great access to the Llyn Peninsula and its wide range of stunning sandy beaches or rugged clifftop walks. The nearest beach, the stunning Morfa Bychan, is a mere 15 minute drive, where you can park your car on the beach and enjoy the miles of golden sands in either direction. History buffs should head to Criccieth to visit the wonderful Criccieth Castle sitting on the hilltop overlooking the seaside town, offering fabulous views of the coastline and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Make time to stop into Cadwalader's for ice cream or grab some lunch in the fabulous beachside art deco building housing Dylan's Restaurant.
For a visit to a larger town, Porthmadog is a lovely harbour town with a wide range of shops, restaurants and cafes. To sample some fantastic local ales, stop into Purple Moose Brewery, or take a look in any number of the local independent shops and delis. Porthmadog also provides access to the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, where you can take in some of the most spectacular scenery in Eryri. Beyond Porthmadog, the Italianate village of Portmeirion is the must visit attraction in the area. The village, constructed in the 1920's, is home to picturesque and colourful Italian style buildings, colonnades and squares and was the filming location for The Prisoner TV series in the 1960s.
