Welcome to our cosy Victorian stone cottage in the heart of Fortuneswell, on the scenic island of Portland in Dorset. This charming home-from-home is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers the perfect base for exploring the Jurassic Coast.
With three bedrooms across three floors, our lovingly restored 1870s cottage combines original features with modern comfortsâincluding fast WiFi, central heating, and smart TVs. From the top-floor bedroom, enjoy sweeping sea views over Lyme Bay. Weâre within walking distance of Chesil Beach, local pubs, cafes, and the South West Coast Path.

Iâve poured a lot of heart into restoring our Victorian stone cottage, "Our Place in Portland," and itâs been a joy to share it with guests from all over. We chose Portland because itâs wild, dramatic and completely captivating â and a little different from the usual seaside spots. The community is welcoming, the views are epic, and the sea air does something magical to the soul (and the sleep!). Whether it's a windswept walk on Chesil Beach, a lazy paddleboard on a still morning, or a post-sauna stretch on the cliffs, thereâs something special about this place that keeps drawing people back.

Weâve kept things thoughtful â a well-stocked kitchen for nights in, a cosy sitting room with board games and Fire TV, an enclosed garden for drying wetsuits or sipping wine, and fast Wi-Fi if you must check your emails. Weâre also proudly dog-friendly, because your four-legged family members deserve a seaside break too.
