My girlfriends and I stayed at this house recently and we had a very nice vacation. The house itself is older (60s or 70s?) and has seen some better days. It's very much suited as a 'beach house' style, so do not expect lux accommodations. It's spacious and includes a separate flat in the back, but we only stayed in the main house.
Location: Very convenient, directly off of a major highway with access to the H1 freeway. It was nice to stay outside of the busy Honolulu area, and still have direct access to town. As it's off of the highway, light sleepers might want to bring earplugs. Lots of amenities nearby (grocery stores, drug stores etc.) and very close to Hanauma Bay.
The house: While the pictures do reflect what some of the property looks like, we were a little disappointed in person. It could definitely use some upkeeping. We kept discovering odd little things - closet doors that were broken/off hinges, cupboard doors off hinges, no trash can in the bathroom etc. On the last night, we discovered laundry in the dryer - still damp. I think whomever cleaned the place forgot to take it out before we arrived. We also discovered that the recycling bin was full to the brim, a day too late for us to take it to be picked up. There is no ping pong table / pool table nor a computer that this post mentions (there is wifi). We also could not find the telephone, or boogie boards/beach equipment that the additional instructions mentioned. The linens and towels provided were clean and plentiful. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking equipment and there is a large grill under the covered parking. There is cable TV and a DVD player with speakers, but it took us awhile to figure out how to use. There is also an XBox, but no controllers in sight. The owners are not locally based, so maybe they haven't seen the property in awhile?
If you are looking for a clean, beach house property to stay at, this house will work out fine for you, but be aware that it's not in top condition.
