Stuga vid sjön 3BR / 2BA Good Hart Cottage

En vecka kvar i augusti! 17-24 augusti 2019.

Njut av vår nybyggda stuga och uppleva allt Northern Michigan har att erbjuda. Vår rymliga stuga har en två våningar stora rum med massor av windows och solljus. Däcket har utsikt över ett naturreservat där du kan vandra och njuta av djurlivet.

Det stora sovrummet, som ligger på andra våningen, har en egen balkong och master bad. På bottenvåningen finns två sovrum. Ett sovrum har en dubbelsäng och det andra sovrummet har en våningssäng och en enkelsäng. Den stora, andra badrummet ligger på bottenvåningen.

En kort promenad från stugan är vår privata föreningen strand på Lake Michigan. Din familj kommer att njuta av att spendera dagen på stranden, vandra genom naturreservatet till General Store och upptäcka Good Hart, Cross Village, Harbor Springs och Petoskey.

Sju mil norr om stugan hittar du Cross Village, hem för den historiska Legs Inn. Längre norrut, längs vackra M-119 är Sturgeon Bay Wilderness State Park. Sturgeon Bay omfattar miles av sandstränder och böljande sanddyner. Mackinac Island ligger cirka 30 miles från stugan och gör en bra dagsutflykt.

Söder om stugan hittar du bra restauranger och unika shopping i Harbor Springs och Petoskey. Världsklass golf finns på många kurser runt Harbor Springs. Thorne Swift Nature Preserve har informativa och roliga barnprogram hela sommaren.

Plocka ut dina råvaror och hemgjorda konserver, mata öringen eller stanna in för lunch och en mikrobrygga på Pond Hill Farm, nio miles söder om Good Hart på M-119.

Great place!

Loved our stay! Highlights of this property are the walkability to the beach and the family friendly layout. The use of kayaks, beach chairs, and bikes was an added bonus!

Overall Great Stay

The property was very nice and was a great remote location. The house had plenty to do with the kids, games, toys, and puzzles. The kitchen had plenty of pots and pans, dishes, and a few small appliances. The house was a little dirty, sand on the floor, dead bugs on the mantle, and bathroom fixtures needed to be wiped down, but I'm a bit pickier on this than others.

Durgy Stay

Much more space than anticipated, which was greatly appreciated by family members who needed both alone time or time together. Location provided quiet space, short walking distances to beach and market, along with the lovely Tunnel of Trees road leading to other shoreline towns. Plenty of necessary furnishings (except tissue boxes) throughout the cottage, as well as, very comfortable beds. Would have preferred a larger swath of beach to walk on, which is limited with a beach association, but still a beautiful small stretch to enjoy. Playing ping pong, darts, and enjoying a campfire brought back wonderful childhood memories and allowed for some much needed downtime and fun. Also, Carole was readily available, polite, and helpful with any questions that arose. A delightful getaway experience overall!

Perfect getaway!

Such a delightful stay at the Durgy cottage. The kitchen was well equipped and we made use of the gas grill and fire pit. We loved the proximity to the beach and enjoyed the privacy the surrounding woods provided. Check-in was a breeze and Carole was easy to reach, kind, and professional. A great trip all around!

Oh so quiet!

A perfect week relaxing with 3 generations. Grandparents had the upstairs suite and my husband, 2 kids and I had the downstairs bedrooms and bath. Ample space to be alone or together but not on top of each other. Space to be quiet and space for busy kids. Our 4 and 7 year olds felt at home and happy. So much thought and preparation went into setting up the house to be welcoming for all. All beds, furniture, and outdoor seating were so comfortable. Everything was very well maintained. Location is total peace and quiet. Landscape and location removes it from any vehicle noise. All you hear is nature, the breeze and the lake. Owls at night and a chorus of birds during the day. Short walk to 2 beaches and trailheads. Association beach has a platform with padded seating, perfect for stargazing. We truly didn’t want to leave! All ages gave it the best rental house - and we’ve been coming to the area since the 1980s! Thank you!

Peaceful cottage vacay

We had an excellent week at this cottage. The cottage was clean and well stocked. There was plenty of pots and pans and dishes for the many meals we had there. There was plenty of room to spread out on the main floor, downstairs and outside. My kiddos (8 and 9) loved playing ping-pong and the little basketball game downstairs. We had a nice campfire one evening and spent several evenings watching the sunset on the nearby beach. Other than beds being a little firmer than we preferred, everything about this cottage was warm, inviting and very homey feeling.

Perfect up-north cottage

We had a wonderful time here. The cottage was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. The cottage is right in the middle of the woods and we were greeted by the porch chipmunk every day. We spent every day at the beach and the beach chairs, umbrella, and cargo wagon were much appreciated. We walked to the Goodhart store a couple times too. The trails are right behind the cottage. We heard owls in the woods and saw meteors in the night sky right on the deck. Strangely, no bugs were around either. Overall, this place was pretty much perfect!

The photos of the house don’t do it justice. It’s a great house on a private and peaceful property.

Amazing rental. The house is set a couple of miles down a gentle dirt road, in a private subdivision. Zero traffic! From the house to the beach is about 150 yards. We went to the beach almost every day. There is also a play area nearby. The house’s back yard is perfect for cornhole or any other outdoor game. There is a huge deck. The basement has table tennis and football (all out to good use!). The house has an awesome selection of kid’s books and toys suited to younger children (our 17month old grandson played with the Noah’s Ark and animals all week :-) We loved this place and would recommend it to family and friends. Nearby (3 mins by car) is the local General Store. Great pot pies and essentials. 10mins north to Cross Village. 20 mins south to Harbor Springs. Pond Hill Farm is 12 minutes south of the house ( a great place for our grandchildren) We absolutely loved the house, the setting, the surrounding area. The owners are easy to deal with; responsive, polite, efficient. Definitely one of the best rental experiences we’ve had.

Fall Break 2016

Picked this area to visit for fall break...close to everywhere we wanted to see and do. This rental was very nice...quiet location...quick walk to beach...plenty of space for everyone. We enjoyed our stay here and hope to do it again in the future!! Thank you Carole for making our fall break a wonderful relaxing get-a-way!

In love with this Cottage and Good Hart!

We visited Good Hart this past summer 2015 for the first time and did not want to leave! Our experience was beyond wonderful!! Beautiful Cottage in a beautiful location. There are too many favorites to name from the homemade crepes to the beautiful aqua water. We will be returning without a doubt ;) thanks much!!

Been going for years!

Absolutely perfect family getaway; we have taken our family of 5 and dog for 7 years now. So much of the cottage has a lasting impact on our family: walks in the woods to General Store, Sturgeon Bay beach, exploring for sand dunes...the list goes on and on. Private, clean, cozy and preparing food and cooking is a breeze. True Up North experience; highly recommended.

Summer renter

Perfect spot for a family who likes to play outside, take walks in the woods, and have bonfires at night! We took day trips to Petoskey, Mackinaw Island, and rented a boat on Burt Lake for the day. A beautiful cottage that is filled with summer sunlight! We will be back for more. Thanks for sharing your family cottage!

Bright home in the woods by the beach

We had a relaxed week in this very comfortable, quiet, private vacation home. We found it bright and light with a complete kitchen, nice deck, playroom, and fire pit for roasting marshmallows. The birds were an attraction to us (pileated woodpeckers visited daily). My wife is an artist and spent hours with her easel on the deck and at the beach. We enjoyed the walking trails in the woods just out back, sunsets, paddle boarding, and exploring on foot, by car, and by bike. I recommend pies from the Good Hart Store, fruits and veggies from Pond Hill (and the melon launcher), the beach and dunes at Wilderness State Park. This is a great place to relax and enjoy time together.
