Om boendet
Villino Ermes Campanelli, Storia, arte, eleganza, quartiere Monti la vera Roma.
The space is characterized by a fusion of eras and styles, featuring unique antique pieces and high-level artistic interventions.
The apartment is a true treasure chest of history and art, enriched with prestigious elements and antiques that tell the stories of past centuries.
The corridor, enhanced by a restoration technique known as “strappo,” is finished with a wax-based paint in a deep Pompeian red. The 19th-century stuccoes and an overdoor sculpture of horses in oxidized silver and gold, further enhance its aristocratic charm.
In the bedroom, the elegance of the 18th century comes to life with walls painted in a refined shade of blue, a custom-made wardrobe built into a niche using a convent mirror from the 1700s, and a late 17th-century frieze.
The bed offers exceptional comfort, featuring a Dorelan Epic mattress. Its headboard, paired with the console mirror, both finished in gold leaf, add a regal touch, complemented by an elegant 1920s Belle Époque chandelier.
The shower is a work of art in itself, with a back wall reconstructed by the artist Teodosio Campanelli, who skillfully incorporated Roman marble and ancient bricks to create a timeless, dramatic effect.
The living room is a perfect blend of luxury and tradition. The walls, treated with the “strappo” technique in light ochre and gold, are finished with liquid wax, creating a warm and enveloping atmosphere. A majestic Neo-Gothic door from 18th-century France, stands alongside a bronze statue of Mercury from the mid-19th century. A Venetian-style sitting area, featuring elegant chairs, a table, and a mini consolle, harmonizes beautifully with the room, illuminated by a 19th-century wooden and gold-leaf chandelier.
The 18th-century-style bathroom is a small jewel, where an antique brass sink from the 1800s has been masterfully repurposed. The walls, floors, and fixtures have been restored using a special epossidic resin, playing with four shades of gold—pale gold, rich gold, ducat gold, and pure gold. A 1900s fan adds the final touch of elegance.
On the lower floor, the theater and speakeasy room is a refined, theatrical space, where a large original 18th-century mirror reflects the expertly decorated stucco, gold-leaf, and painted walls.
Ancient Roman-inspired cement statues stand alongside a convent fireplace from the 1700s and niches reconstructed by artist Teodosio Campanelli, evoking the grandeur of an ancient Roman domus. Ionic capitals, reproductions from the Palace of Justice in Rome, and an imposing 19th-century chandelier complete this timeless space.
The terrace is distinguished by an impressive lion fountain, reconstructed using original 18th-century cement elements, including the lion’s mask, shell, and decorative volutes. The partitions, canopy, and system covers have all been handcrafted in ornamental wrought iron, while the exterior stuccoes have been restored to reveal original noble coats of arms.
Every corner of the apartment is a tribute to history and art, where the past comes to life through unique details and meticulous attention to restoration and artistic heritage preservation.
More than 20 artisans contributed to the restoration project, which took two and a half years to complete. Celebrities from the fashion and entertainment worlds personally selected luxurious fabrics for bedspreads, sofa covers, and curtains, adding an exclusive touch to the interiors.
All materials used are of the highest quality. The artistic direction was entrusted to Teodosio Campanelli, a renowned artist from Marche region, while the color selection for both the interior and exterior walls was curated by Maurizio Buonamici, a famous Roman restorer, heir to a family tradition dating back to Piazza Farnese.
The entire design, conceptualization, and meticulous attention to detail were masterfully overseen by architect Lucio Campanelli, ensuring extraordinary elegance and refinement.
