Family snow tubing weekend

What an amazing property! We like to take a long winter weekend and enjoy the outdoor activities of Tucker Co. The house is located between Canaan Valley/timberline and town of Davis so an easy quick drive into downtown for food and music. The house is beautifully furnished and well equipped. The large fireplaces were so enjoyable and the views were fabulous. Black out curtains over patio doors in bedrooms helped insure a lazy morning. Plenty of parking available and ample space for our family gathering of 14. Snow shovels and salt were available on the front porch and the community snow plow kept the driveway and roads clear in spite of heavy snowfall. The property is two thumbs way way up! We will likely book again!

YoZo family Christmas gathering

We stayed 6 nights over Christmas. Very spacious with ample room for all to do their “their” thing-reading, playing video games, cooking, and just talking. It snowed which added to the Christmas festivities. Overall, we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Amazing stay

We stayed at this property twice now. The property is large, very clean in a very quiet setting. We stayed in late November so we were unable to take advantage of the lake, we did use the pool table and shuffleboard table. The host is wonderful. She responded very quickly. We are looking forward to staying there again.

Family Getaway

We spent a wonderful week in this comfortable home. The small lake was a lot of fun for the teenagers! The kitchen served us well as we cooked for a large group. The home was very clean and worked well for our large family.

Perfect Spot!

The location was a great distance from all the activities we wanted to do while in the area (Blackwater Falls, Seneca Rocks, Seneca Caverns, Davis, Thomas, etc.). The house was perfect for our family of 10. Everyone had their own space! Being on the water was so awesome. The house had a fishing boat, 2 kayaks, 2 lily pads, and fishing gear (although we brought our own to use). We spent hours each day on the water.

Great pick for a vacation rental!

Our family stayed at this property for a long weekend. The house was clean and fully equipped with everything needed. The property and views are beautiful with a full view of the lake. The neighborhood is quiet and just moments from skiing and sledding Any time I sent an email for questions I received a quick response. This property was beautiful and the house was really nice with much to offer. We will definitely be renting this home again and would recommend to anyone looking.

Family Vacay

The house and property is perfect for a family vacation. It is located very close to the ski areas and many beautiful trails for hiking. The trail around the lake (on the property) was an extra bonus. Having two living spaces with game tables was a great setup for our family.

Perfect location

We had an amazing stay during Labor Day weekend at this property. The house had plenty of space for everyone, was clean, and sits on a beautiful quiet little lake. Having access to the fishing boat, kayaks, and paddle boards was a nice touch. It is in an excellent location about 10 minutes from Davis/Thomas. We cannot wait to visit again next year!

Great family vacation!

My family of six plus a few friends really enjoyed our six-day stay at Colleen’s home! This house has a great location and had everything for us: a spacious layout, large bedrooms and a basement floor that was ideal for the college-aged young adults. Everyone had fun using the kayaks, row boats, and paddle boards that are kept at the house. The lake is beautiful! We enjoyed going for walks, using the fire pit and hot tub and gathering on the deck. The owners thought of everything in this house and it is so well maintained! My family and friends thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this amazing and beautiful home! Communication with Colleen was easy and she responded quickly to any questions. I would give this property 10 stars!!

Family Get Away

We gathered family from Texas, New Jersey and PA at this house. The description was very accurate, and we had a great time. My brother-in-law even asked about getting this house again when we do an east coast gathering again. Would highly recommend an escape to this hidden gem.

Lovely, clean, well equipped

We wanted to ski in WV and found this listing. The home is ideally situated to ski Canaan or Timberline. The amenities in the house made it feel like home. Lake view from the hot tub was wonderful after a day on the mountain. We would definitely return.

Awesome stay!

The property was great and exactly as listed. It was spacious, clean, conveniently located, and very pretty! Less than 10 minutes to both ski resorts, on a beautiful pond/lake, and in a really nice/quiet neighborhood. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful house and surroundings

Super easy checkin and hosts responsive to all questions. Everything was perfect during our one week family vacation. We particularly appreciated the use of the owners boats and fishing equipment. Being right on the lake was wonderful! Very much enjoyed our stay.

Canaan/Timberline getaway

Loved our stay: beautiful view, convenient to both ski areas, kitchen well set up with dishes and supplies. 2 gathering areas good for large groups to watch TV. The snow made it extra pretty. Loved the Christmas tree lights. Would also be a great summer get away.

Gorgeous home and setting

We had such a wonderful experience at this house. I have been coming to Canaan Valley with my family for many years, but this was the first time I came with a group of friends to celebrate my 30th. The night my fiancé and I arrived, a snowstorm blew in and dumped 15 inches of snow overnight. It made for some hairy driving for our friends the next day, but they all arrived safely (we had initially planned for 14 people to stay and ended up with only 8 due to COVID, but the house would have easily slept 14 comfortably). The snow was absolutely beautiful and made for wonderful skiing conditions the next day. This house was a great location because it’s close to the main road (though still sheltered and private) and is on relatively flat ground, and though we didn’t partake, there were some epic sledding hills nearby! A note for folks without four wheel drive: there is a slight downhill when you turn into the neighborhood, which was a bit challenging when roads were covered in snow. Plows came through several times which was hugely helpful, and by the time we left Sunday morning we were blessed with warmer temps and rain so everyone could get out easily. The house itself was absolutely beautiful, and well-appointed with supplies, especially the kitchen. The hot tub with the snow falling was a dream come true! Colleen was very responsive and helpful, and the instructions provided were clear. The only problem we encountered was not being able to locate the remote for the living room TV—very minor, and we simply moved downstairs to the beautiful rec room to watch the game. I’d highly recommend this house to families or groups of friends, there is plenty of space and privacy but the house still manages to feel cozy. We were also toasty warm despite the negative temps outside! While we were there in the winter, I think this house would also be spectacular in the summertime and hope to be back someday. OUTSTANDING

Our family had an amazing time. The house was better than described, making our Thanksgiving family reunion perfect! Owners were very communicative and responsive. Definitely would recommend this property to anyone looking for amazing views, great owners, and a well stocked, clean house!

Amazing fall get away

We had a lovely time at this beautiful house! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could think of and we comfortably had a full house of 5 families with plenty of spaces for adults and teens to hang out independently. We loved the deck, grill, fire pit, pool table, all of it. Location was super convenient to Black Water Falls and other area hikes as well as exploring quaint Davis and Thomas. We're already talking about coming back this winter to take advantage of proximity to skiing. Lovely house & hosts!
