En charmig Ocean Side stuga med utsikt över Östra hamnen har underbar utsikt över vattnet och en strand vägen tolv meter från uppfarten och ger enkel åtkomst för kajak Beachcombers. Beläget i en lugn, avlägsen fiskeby, är stugan bara en timme och femton minuter nordost om Bar Harbor och Acadia National Park och fyrtiofem minuter sydväst om Machias. Stugan har vacker utsikt över hamnen från panoramafönstren i vardagsrummet. Det har också härliga trädgårdar lager med Shasta prästkragar, steg campions och penséer (för att nämna några). Det finns trädgårdsmöbler på gräsmattan med utsikt över rabatter och havet. Njut av färska grönsaker från vår ekologiska trädgård. Utrustade med alla moderna bekvämligheter (olja centralvärme, tvättmaskin, torktumlare, tv, mikrovågsugn, kaffebryggare och mixer) stugan är mycket bekväma. Den har en tryckknapp pelletskamin för mysiga kvällar. Det sover 2-5 även om det skulle vara bekvämare för mindre grupper

Sovarrangemang: Det finns ett sovrum på övervåningen med två enkelsängar som trycks ihop för ökad trevnad, det finns en inbyggd säng i fyren på nedervåningen, samt bäddsoffa i vardagsrummet. . Små husdjur kan tillåtas - vänligen fråga ägaren.

South Addison stay

Property was above and beyond what we were expecting. Well appointed kitchen and equipment. Detailed instructions on getting there, how to operate heating etc. Wonderful views, quiet area Very peaceful.

Quiet laid back vacation

We sat on the beach near cottage in complete privacy and enjoyed watching the tide come in and the wild roses;ate seafood at Helens in Machias and at Scovills (this one is cash only)in Harrington....there are still places on the coast of Maine with no crowds and neon! A special 50th wedding anniversary trip! Cottage is comfortable and as described;sleep downstairs if steep steps/slanted walls a n issue.

Sweet cottage

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The location is peaceful and quiet, and everything was clean and just as pictured. Just a note - if you have mobility issues, accessing the upstairs bedroom may be difficult for you as using the staircase involves some bending and twisting. It was fine for us 60-somethings with just slightly creaky joints!

Beautiful, quaint location off the beaten path. Loved the location for convenient access to points north of bar harbor. Beautiful stars including milkyway. Great seafood locally. Host provided detailed list of restaurants and places to purchase seafood. And excellent instructions for appliances and pellet stove. Clean, well stocked, supermarket nearby for groceries. Highly recommend and would love to visit again.

Serenity by the Sea

This cute little cottage has everything you could need to make your stay comfortable and peaceful. Even though it rained more than half the week I was there, I found myself enjoying sitting in front of the picture windows and watching the tides, the fog, the gulls, the geese, the hummingbirds and the eagles soaring. What a special spot this is! My soul was soothed after a very stressful year and this was the perfect place to get rejuvenated. The couple days of sunshine I was graced with were spent out by the garden just relaxing. The garden is full of different veggies and flowers, so I did help myself to a some of the bounty, thank you Alan and Brenda! The owners are very kind and made sure that I was safe once I left the cottage during Hurricane Lee which just happened to arrive the day my week had ended. What an exciting experience that was! All is well and I am very happy that I stayed at this wonderful cottage by the sea.

Enjoy Downeast Maine

The cottage was perfect for me. I wanted a place that was quiet, and a good place to explore Downeast Maine, and I found it. I wanted a place where I could bike, hike, and paddle, and it was all very close by. The neighbors were very friendly, the road was quiet, and the cottage was well furnished with what I needed. I could have asked for more.

Quintessential Maine

I’ve always stayed near Acadia, but decided to go a little quieter this year and I found this amazing cottage on the water. Mornings were spent having coffee while watching the shore birds and locals digging for clams. The cottage faces west, so no gorgeous sunset was missed as we enjoyed our fresh lobsters from Caler Cove Lobster just 1/2 mi. Up the road. The cottage has everything you need including a charcoal grill and vegetable garden just out the back door! Our hosts were very responsive and provided an incredible amount of local information to help plan our adventures for the week (wine tasting, local blueberry farms, hiking, Maine Sea Salt company - many owned and operated by local families) One of my best Maine stays!

Quiet, Lovely Location

Quaint Cottage

Great cottage for us to spend a week unwinding from a rough summer. Beautiful views of the water, nice touch having the garden with fresh vegetables. Home was immaculate clean and well stocked with all the essentials plus extra items . Owners are great and easy to get in touch with (we only needed email). Neighborhood is very quiet and friendly. Maine Cottage

The cottage is located in a quiet little neighborhood with wonderful views of a small ocean bay. Very well kept and decorated. A good location for exploring the northeastern coast of Maine. Bedroom upstairs is tight and with no AC can get warm. One or two added handholds could be added to make the downward entry to the stairs easier. All in all a good value.

A Perfect Getaway by the Sea

For one week, I escaped the shackles of the pandemic in this beautiful, remote and friendly fishing village Downeast. On my first day I was greeted by a local lobsterman hoping to sell me some fresh, out of the sea, lobster. On my last day, I walked the trails of a truly magical nearby forest called Ingersol Point Preserve. The cottage is sparkling clean ( in fact I felt challenged to find any dust) comfortable and simply darling. It sits a top a short hill looking straight out to the Eastern Harbor. Even though I didn’t have perfect weather, it made no difference to me, and the sunsets were still amazing. Brenda and Alan were absolutely lovely hosts and quick to respond to any questions I had. I would definitely like to recommend this cottage. I hear they decorate for Christmas too.

Wonderful little cottage in a wonderful location

We had a wonderful stay at Castaway Cottage. As soon as you walk in the front door, you see the magnificent view of the cove, the island and the ever changing water with the tides. The cottage was perfect, having a everything we needed to prepare our meals and then sitting at the dining table overlooking the water. The location was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. It truly gave us respite from our busy every day life. Thank you to Brenda for all of the information, directions and maps that showed us the local nature walks and beaches. We found each one and had fun exploring the coves and points along the coast. We took day trips north to Lubec and south to Arcadia and returned "home" to the comforts of the cottage. I loved that I could take a short walk to the little beach every day at low tide and search for sea glass. It was also nice to walk the shore road to view the lobster boats and just to walk in the woods. Absolutely a wonderful cottage in a wonderful location.

Great location!

Had a lovely 2 week stay with my sister and a friend. Great location! Easy travel down to Acadia and Bar Harbor and then up to Campobello Island. We were busy every day. Home was very clean and well supplied. Cooked most meals there since eating out meant about a 30 minute drive. Loved sitting outside with a glass of wine enjoying that fabulous view!

Very quiet and relaxing. We were able to wake up look out the window at the ocean just yards away. Also were able to observe the working harbor. Just the place to read, relax, and explore coastal Maine. Away from the hustle and bustle of larger towns

Alan and I are film makers for Maine PBS. I just love South Addison and have been coming here since I was 9 months old to spend summers with my grandparents. In 1986 we bought this wonderful cottage - a true romantic getaway and we have been renting it out ever since.

Mooseneck, as the area is known, is really magical. The sea air sharpens the appetite and at the same time has a relaxing effect. Folks tell us they sleep so well here. We have added a lot to the cottage over the years - original paintings done by local listed artists and quilts made by local crafts people. The house is light and airy. The views are stunning. It is a great place to rest and relax. We are happy to share it with others so they have the same happy experience here that I have had for nearly sixty years!

This cottage is very charming and even quaint. It feels like taking a trip into an enchanted place as soon as you walk through the door. I stayed here as a child and so it has many special memories for me. We have included features like a delightful flower garden overlooking the water, as well as organic vegetable garden to enhance the dining experience. Imagine fresh lobster, Maine potatoes, freshly picked vegetables of your choice from a garden with ocean views, and fresh blueberry pie for dessert. These are just some of the things that give our visitors special memories of this cottage. Downeast Maine is such a beautiful place. We provide visitors in advance with a copy of our DVD we made for Maine PBS about the Downeast area (there is a clip on this site) and we give our guests a Downeast Calendar we make each year. It reminds them of the wonderful vacation they had at our cottage since many of the photos are from this location. We hope you have a chance to enjoy it too!
