Bear Cove Cabin is amazing

This property has everything you could ask for. The fact that there is a yard to hang out in, or to let the kids run around in, is a definite bonus! The fire pit, darts, ping pong table, and hot tub are just a few of the things we were able to enjoy during our stay. Having deer wander on the property, made our stay even more enjoyable.We loved our time at Bear Cove Cabin, and plan on staying again.

Cozy home

We enjoyed the house for just the 3 of us. Several of the lamps we never did figure out how to turn on and all the tv remotes were a learning curve. Hot tub needs a good half hour to get to 104*. We also didn’t have very good water pressure or hot water. The king bed was a bit firm and bedding was so fragrant from laundry soap that we couldn’t use it. For a quick two night get away it met our needs.

Beyond our expectations!!

The home was stocked, with anything you could need just bring food ,the ping-pong table, fire pit, the hot tub, the twinkle lights, the wiffleball there was darts there were five bikes… plenty of parking for cars and boat trailer !! we will be back!!!! it was private and perfect. We even saw six bull elk and babies in the backyard every night the lot behind it is cleared out so you feel the privacy and can see the moon and the stars. if I could give it 10 stars, I would!!!

Weekend Getaway

The cabin was super cute and clean. I felt like the owners thought of every detail. We were excited to see they had cornhole but bags were missing so we were unable to use them. It was not advertised to include cornhole. We had a ton of fun with all the amenities! Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Frustrated and cold

We rented for the hot tub after skiing. We arrived after driving 7 plus hours with a broken hot tub. We were never notified. The house was dirty (I have photos and sent them to the management company and no one responded) the house was extremely cold and we tried everything to heat it up. Several heaters did not work and we used the oven and a fire to get warm. A man was sent with a space heater from Vacasa. With not one tool we barely got it together so it would work, and the two times we spoke on the phone, he was rude. We cleaned up really well and left this morning

Nice time but not without issues

We had a nice time at this property but there were issues. The house itself was clean, well stocked and comfortable. The appliances were in good condition. Outside there were multiple wasp nests and the patio furniture had not been cleaned in quite some time (there was even an active wasp nest on the back of a patio chair). The hot tub was dirty and unusable. The odor was so bad that it was unpleasant to spend time on the deck near the hot tub. I sent a email addressing these issues before posting an public review. I did not receive any kind of reply. I am hoping that the property owner was at least made aware of the things included in my email. I have used VRBO and Airbnb previously with no issues. I feel the property manager of this home needs to do a better job to make sure it meets the guests expectations.

Dirty, Dirty, Dirty…

Both the showers had hair in the drain. The master bath smelled like mildew. The master bedroom reeked like pet urine. We closed the master bedroom door to keep the odor in the back half of the house. We did not use the back half of the house. (I hope the sheets were washed). The washing machine was broken (and per reviews last year, the washing machine was broken then). The ice maker was broken. The hot tub leaked and needed to be refilled regularly. There was only two rolls a toilet paper for a 7 day visit. We had a hornets living in the interior of the hot tub. The garbage disposal was broken. They did send someone out to spray the hornets and offered to send out a carpet cleaner. BUT WE PAID A FORTUNE IN FEES and don’t want to deal with maintenance people. This is the dirtiest VBRO we have ever rented.

Not Impressed

We visit McCall multiple times every winter to enjoy the snowmobiling and winter activities. We rent different houses each trip. This place has potential to be great but doesn’t seem to be well taken care of and is not worth paying $$$ night after fees. When we arrived we were shoveling snow out the pathway to the front porch, shoveling to get to the wood pile so we could get wood, the pathway to the garage with the ping pong table was not shoveled out and this was 4 days after the last McCall snow. The ping pong table was covered with dust and garbage, one of the overhead doors to the garage was broken and open to the outside so ping pong table wasn’t usable. The other bay in the garage had 4’ of snow in front and was inaccessible. We were told we could park a vehicle in the garage but when we arrived we couldn’t. The house has a nice fire place but when we went to get fire wood, after shoveling a pathway to the wood, we found a broken ax so we had no way to make kindling. There were light bulbs out, one of the bedroom lights did not turn on when you hit the switch, cracked glasses in the kitchen cabinets, no grill available, no outside fire place accessibility when there is snow. The walk in shower fixture was about ready to fall off the wall. The Master Bedroom, double-glass door that is the primary route to the hot tub and the main egress from the bedroom in case of emergency. This door was pinched tight from the snow load on the roof and was extremely hard to open. My wife could not open the door to hot tub. All this and to top it off the outdoor garbage bin was full and critters had gotten into the garbage so we got to clean up someone else’s garbage and had nowhere to put our garbage on our vacation. All in all we made the best of it but for 4 nights and for the investment, it was disappointing. We hope that VRBO will make it right!

Very nice cabin with affordable price

The place is very nice, clean and you will find in every space things that you may need for you stay since kitchen appliances to washer, dryer, table games, DVD and movies , fire pit and patio table to enjoy the weather. We loved it!

Perfect

This place is a must. It's the perfect distance to town, the lake, the grocery store and much more. It's perfect for people who are visiting in groups or with kids and even a company business trip. The master suite has 2 recliner chairs and tv if you need separate spaces. And the outside is perfect for entertainment for kids or groups. This home has so many extras. We loved this place and will definitely book it again and again. I must say Thank you to the owners. We really appreciate everything

Amazing Mountain Getaway

I rented this cabin for me and my fiancés McCall getaway and it was incredible. The fireplace is amazing and the shower is hard to beat! 10/10 recommend! Will be back again for sure!

Great Experience

Our group consisted of four adults, two kids and our lab. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our stay. The fireplace and hot tub were perfect after a day on the mountain sledding! The kitchen was stocked with every imaginable tool - including a crock pot and a rice cooker!! There was a cabinet full of games and movies for the adults and kids for those days that we chose to stay in. And a ping pong table and foosball in the garage!! It has a nice big U-shaped driveway so getting in and out with the snowmobiles was a piece of cake. We did need to do some hand shoveling around the hot tub but it was well worth it! Thank you for sharing your home with us - we can't wait to come back!!

Great Escape for the Holidays

We booked here over Thanksgiving and it ended up being a great time! The house was clean and comfortable with all of the necessary items in the kitchen. It took us a minute to figure out the heat, but we managed to get it nice and warm for the family. I do think there may be a leak or service needed on the hot tub as the water level was low enough that we didn't use the jets. Overall though, this was an excellent stay and one we will keep on our list!

The place was dirty. Smelled like cleaning solution was used extensively to cover pet urine smell. Garbage disposal, washing machine, and tv in bedroom did not work. Knew about the washing machine, runner tried to fix tv.There was very little toilet paper and paper towels, was rectified by manager when informed. Light outside master bd door was useless. Would not recommend staying here.

Great, quirky house.

The house is really nice (much bigger kitchen & living room than the pictures make it look) with some great amenities. The deck is great and shaded in the afternoon heat, the hot tub and yard are nice to have as well. The master bedroom was beyond spacious, and very comfortable! The garage was messy with random tools and odds and ends, but we never really used it. The house has some odd quirks though. The master bathroom fixtures are SHORT (our 4 year old could reach the faucet flat-footed and I had to hunch to wash my hands) and the very cool rock shower has a window looking out on…the bed. The light switches are just bizarre: they are different heights on the wall, the one in the guest bedroom doesn’t do anything, the switch just inside the master bedroom door turns on the lights on the far side of the room while the switch by the bathroom turns on the lights near the door, etc. That being said, none of the quirks outweighed the great aspects of the house!
