the loveliest home in Normandy

This is the 2nd time we book this property. It is for a reason we come back to this amazing place. Loved every moment while staying here, from the house to the neighborhood, the town and the entire Normandy area.

Bayeux and Normandy

Married couple, first time in Normandy. One of the items on my bucket list was the D-Day experience. Bayeux is a great home base if you want to explore this region. Great place to eat, shops and museums. (Tapestry, etc.) Giselles's place is a short walk from downtown Bayeux and multiple grocery stores. It is perfect for couples. The courtyard and patio is relaxing and spacious, great for morning coffee and/or evening glass of wine. I highly recommend it. FYI - if you are an early riser, you do not need a alarm clock. The church in the neighborhood chimes every morning at 7:02am, which was perfect for us.

Charming French Apartment

The property was an excellent location, just far enough away from the city center but close enough to walk to everything. Grocery stores, boulangerie and coffee were just a 5 minute walk. We enjoyed the private garden for a rest or a glass of wine and cheese. Our host was very welcoming and helpful our comfort was her top priority. Staying here was truly the French experience.

Perfect base

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Giselle’s lovely rental and wished we had booked a longer visit. She met us on arrival, showed us how everything worked and gave us detailed information about sightseeing and restaurants. She has thought of everything one might need for a comfortable vacation and topped it all off with a welcoming bottle of local cider and biscuits. Highly recommended!

Totally charming little house and hostess

This is an adorable place. We originally booked for three nights but stayed another two nights we liked it so much. The garden off the kitchen is very private and weather permitting a lovely spot to eat lunch and have a glass of wine. St. Vigor is very quiet and only a short 15 minute stroll to the centre of town to see the tapestries. Giselle is very helpful and kind. I would certainly recommend this house to friends.

Confort calme et accueil charmant

Très belles prestations pour ce logement pour deux personnes. L'accueil par la propriétaire est très appréciable et de bons conseils. La propreté et l'équipement du logement sont irréprochables. Les cloches matinales ajoutent au charme du lieu. Seuls occupants lors de notre séjour nous avons eu le plaisir de profiter tranquillement de la cour et du jardin. Nous recommandons vivement ce logement.

Un rêve en Normandie

Schitterende locatie met prachtige patio en zonovergoten tuin in een rustige omgeving. Op wandelafstand van het centrum van bayeux. Giselle is een hartelijke gastvrouw, ze heeft oog voor detail en geeft je passend reisadvies over Bayeux en de ruime omgeving. Goed gelegen om de landing te bezoeken. Bayeux heeft ons verrast met zijn vele lekkere restaurants.

Beautiful!

We loved our stay. This was a beautiful home , very tastefully decorated with every detail thought of. We enjoyed every moment. The outdoor terrace with a sitting area was so peaceful. The location was an easy walk to all of the sites and even to the grocery store. Giselle was lovely and very hospitable. We highly recommend!

Pretty little house in a good location for the DDay beaches

The house is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was nice to have the toilet upstairs as the stairs would be difficult to negotiate during the night. The kitchen is limited but ideal if you are eating out most of the time. Less suitable for couples like us who like to self cater and cook most of our meals in. The lounge is decorated with beautiful antiques but leaves little surface or space top put anything. It felt a little cluttered. We found the lounge furniture very uncomfortable. The shower is excellent and lovely hot water. Bathroom is comfortable and spacious with lovely towels etc... The courtyard garden is private and great to eat in when the weather is nice. We recommend this beautiful holiday home which is more like a home than a rental property. Perfect base for exploring the area and near to Bayeux.

Awesome stay in Bayeux

Needed a place to stay in Bayeux, and this was perfect for two people. Quiet location with plenty of free parking close by. Easy walk to all that Bayeux has to offer. Easy day trip to all the Normandy “D Day” beaches. Giselle was a perfect host, with lots of great recommendations. One of a kind property, with plenty of private, outdoor space. Had an awesome stay!

Wonderful, simply wonderful!

We could not have had a better holiday. The apartment is beautiful and was perfect for a lovely stay in this wonderful city. Giselle (the owner) is a lovely person and met us at the property to make sure we knew how everything worked and to orientate us to the area.

Really beautiful little apartment

Very beautifully furnished apartment with a lovely garden. The only problem was the toilet was upstairs and the shower and sink were on the main level. Nice location.

Charming apartment and area

This was our first time using VRBO. We enjoyed the host, Giselle, she was very helpful and friendly. The apt is close to the downtown of Bayeux, and we had access to all the Normandy sites. This was a perfect quaint location Outside of the city. Very relaxing property. Just be aware that if you have issues with steps, you would need to climb steps to get to the bedroom. We were fine, but I thought I'd mention that. The bed was very comfortable as well. The kitchen was stocked and easy to navigate around. I would highly recommend this property especially if you are on a quest to explore all the WW2 sites in the area. We would return to this apartment in the future!

Wonderful apartment and great location!

The apartment is beautiful and spotless! The twin beds are very comfortable and it has a big, walk-in shower, and the courtyard is quiet and relaxing for morning coffee and croissant! Just as described. Giselle was the kindest host and so prompt in returning e-mails. The location is terrific, just blocks from the Old Town. Bayeux is the perfect town to stay if visiting the D-Day beaches. It's also only an hour drive from Honfluer and 1 1/2 hours from Mont Saint Michele. There are great restaurants near the apartment and a grocery store less than five minutes away. Both parking lots are literally just around the corner; less than a two-minute walk to either.

un petit nid douillet

L'appartement de Madame Vicot est un vrai petit bijou. Tout est refait à neuf, d'excellente facture et aménagé avec un goût très sûr. Cerise sur le gâteau, Mme Vicot nous a permis de profiter de son jardin autant que nous le désirions. A aucun moment nous n'avons regretté notre choix. L'appartement est à 5 minutes à pied du centre de Bayeux qui est une petite ville charmante et vraiment bien placé si vous voulez visiter Caen et les plages du débarquement. Mme Vicot, en parfaite hôtesse, vous indiquera ce qui présente vraiment un intérêt et vous proposera toutes sortes de guides pour vous aider dans vos choix. C'est avec plaisir que nous reviendrons si l'occasion s'en présente.

Beautifully appointed apartment

Giselle's apartment is a wonderful apartment and only a short walk from the heart of Bayeux. The apartment it's self is beautifully furnished and has everything you could want. The apartment was as described (only better in real life! - beautiful!) and clean and well maintained. It was a joy to stay there for our 4 nights. Bayeux is a wonderful area with so much to see an do. Would highly recommend.

Great visit to Bayeux!!

Giselle's apartment is a wonderful base for visiting Bayeux and Normandy. Giselle was friendly and helpful. Her apartment is in a good location, artistically decorated and beautiful. I wish we could've stayed longer. We spent a full day visiting the Normandy beaches and most of a second day going to Mont Saint Michel, so we didn't really see as much of Bayeux as we would have liked. I highly recommend Overlord Tours for seeing the Normandy beaches and seeing Mont St. Michel at night was extraordinary. Also, Lion D'Or is an excellent, high-quality restaurant recommended by Giselle and seconded by us!

Full of soul, with period pieces of furniture

Giselle is wonderful to deal with. She responded immediately and accommodate our needs. We were the first Australians and I think she was impressed. We had such a wonderful 5 days in her beautifully decorated duplex. The bedroom area upstairs was so comfortable and spacious. Downstairs the bathroom with access to the back yard works well and the compact kitchen is expertly composed and works well for simple meals. We even cooked steak and veg one night while listening to Giselle's CDs. Very quiet overnight and in the morning some jogging around the neighbourhood and into down town Bayeux. Parking was just a few meters from the apartment. We had our own entrance and access to the wonderful courtyard where we had a salads lunch on a rare Normandy sunny day! Giselle is a savey business woman, Independant and gorgeous with such wonderful taste. She even helped us out with printing of paperwork to help us resolve fraudulent use of our Euro chad card. Above and beyond the call of duty. Giselle loved running her holiday rental and I'm sure it will be huge success judging on how it is run. We congratulate you Giselle. Zelinda & Robert, Perth Austalia
