I have no complaints about the property, Under other circumstances I give the place top marks. After traveling all day from South Carolina, we arrived at the property about 10 p.m., the combination I was given did not unlock the door. My only obvious contact was through the Vrbo message system, so I immediately sent a message - no response. Next I contacted Vrbo.The rep was sympathetic and offered to contact someone asap. After a while the Vrbo rep called back and said they could not get the host to answer their phone. They gave me three phone numbers to try myself & promised to keep trying also. By now it's 11 p.m. I called all three numbers, one in Florida and two in Virgina, where the rental is located. I left messages on all. I got a callback from the property manager who, understandably, was in bed. She walked me through unlocking the door. It still didn't work. She then directed me to a lock box located on the property, which would have a key to open the door. She gave me the combination to the lock box and... you guessed it, the lock box wouldn't open either. She said she would come out immediately, but unfortunately she lived 40 minutes away.
Now it's midnight. The property manager and her husband arrived & could not unlock the door or the lock box. After several tries husband successfully opened the lock box, by trying a different combination. Once the door was open the host reset it's combination, which, of course worked perfectly...
