Beautiful pond side setting

This was a beautifully appointed property on an estate overlooking a pond. The apartment was spotless and the caretaker was most helpful when we needed anything. The rooms were well supplied and perfect for us. Thank you for letting us experience the quintessence of the Berkshires.

Not my favorite rental

This is a two-room apartment separated by a hallway. There was a small window air conditioner in the bedroom and in the living room. It was hot most of the days of my visit, and on arrival only the living room unit was on. It took 2 full days and nights at max operation to cool down the apartment, and the noise, especially at night, was like sleeping in a cheap airport hotel. Bathroom had NO counter space for toiletries. The closet reeked of whatever the people in the unit on the other side of the wall were cooking. i had to move all my clothes out of the closet so they wouldn't stink. EVERY DAY I killed multiple hornets in the living room window. I called the owner and the property manager showed up two days later. I left the following morning.

Good things in small packages...

Convenient and beautiful location for not so beautiful building. Contrary to misleading pics there is no place to hang outside and enjoy the surroundings. The wall of interesting books will keep you occupied if forced to spend time on site. Good choice for short stay exploring the area. Creatively renovated interior with barn siding and "hidden" kitchen.

Great location

Fabulous location near Great Barrington. Building is shared with caretaker so there can be some minimal noise similar to an apartment.

A lovely place to stay

The location of this property is wonderful - far enough away from the hustle and bustle yet close enough to get to any neighboring towns and main thoroughfares easily. I felt comfortable in the space and looked forward to returning at the end of each day. The property itself is beautiful and well cared for. The staff who oversees the property was welcoming, friendly and attentive and responded immediately to any questions or needs. I would definitely stay here again.

Sweet Apartment

Everything you could want for a nice quiet stay. The apt is very roomy and well appointed. Small kitchen with all you need. Messages to the owner were answered promptly. The grounds are incredibly beautiful. No reason not to stay here.

Perfect in every way

I'm never staying anywhere else again when I come to the Berkshires for Tanglewood, etc. The apartment was immaculate and well-equipped, and it's elegant and cozy at the same time. The property is so gorgeous that even the lovely photos don't do it justice. It's pin-drop quiet yet a short drive from both downtown GB and Beartown State Park. A magical place!

Diamond in the rough

This charmingly renovated stable, is advertised as being on a 50 acre farm. Truth is, it sits on a baronial estate, complete with hilltop Manor, house, orchards, pond and large greenhouse filled with flowers for the well manicured grounds. Our most lasting memory was sipping wine while sitting in, the Adirondack chairs overlooking the pond and watching swallows swoop down for their evening meal of floating insects.

Beautiful property with pond, gardens, short hiking trails. The apartment has beautiful views. It was quite cozy and tastefully decorated. Loved the wall of books with every possible genre. The grounds caretaker was friendly and offered suggestions on hiking trails in Great Barrington. I would definitely recommend this property I look forward to staying there again!

Beautiful setting and great apartment

This was a perfect place for us to stay. The views were beautiful and the area perfectly quiet. The apartment is lovely and has comfortable furniture and lots of interesting books. It took awhile to figure out where all the closets were and what they had in them, but in the end everything was there! Kitchen is tiny but has everything you could want. We would definitely stay there again

Pleasant and straightforward

This was a great place to stay near Great Barrington and Lenox. The grounds were beautiful and the lodging had everything you could want. We have three minor complaints. 1) The walls are quite thin and we could hear the neighbors, to the extent that we could follow the dialog on their TV. 2) The floors are a bit hard and the floor mat in the living room (in place of an area rug) is not terribly soft. 3) It's not so close to Great Barrington proper. That said, everything was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of closet space and even a desk for working / Zooming.

Very quiet, on lovely farm property. Excellent location for concert at Tanglewood and seeing area.

Very pretty country setting. Rustic with all the amenities. Easy access to the Tanglewood Concert venue, and visiting Great Barrington, Lenox, and surrounding Berkshires. VRBO seems to have some problems with their web app that made verifications of dates, and finalizing arrangements challenging.

Loved the apartment which was funky and quaint. Had all the right amenities. Enjoyed perusing the library. Grounds are gorgeous. Berkshires are beautiful. Mike and Allison were great hosts. Thank you to Mr. Gilliam also for letting us stay on his beautiful property. Only recommendation is for a larger bed. We will be back!

Beautiful, Quaint Farmhouse in The Berkshires

Quaint farmhouse setting with a pond, wooded trail with brook and neighboring cows close to hiking and everything outdoors in The Berkshires. Close to downtown Great Barrington for restaurants or a microbrew. It was the perfect anniversary getaway.

Great Fall Getaway

It was clean and comfortable. The property manager was most accommodating. The location and property was beautiful. This was our first Vrbo stay that did not have a little welcome note with house rules or directions for parking, laundry, where to leave linens when you leave, etc.. It was quaint with everything you would need. The fresh flowers from the garden was a nice touch.
