Very hard to find. Instructions on parking and how to get to this unit needs more attention. Some worn down appliances but overall it was a fun get away. Close driving to all the fun stuff and tucked in.

Relaxing / location

Great location for us to visit Alyeska but also head into Whittier the next day. Place was super relaxing and we enjoyed the hot tub. Would have been nice to have patio chairs so we could enjoy the outdoors. But literally no complaints. It was perfect for our needs

Don't expect to see the house in the photo. It is overgrown. Carpets are musty. Otherwise, it is a nice little place.

We really enjoyed our stay there. Quiet and very comfortable cabin. Would be fun to be there during Ski season. I may have missed the memo, but parking was a wee nebulous for a good location.

Family Vacation

Great stay. We always have a great stay when we book with Vacasa. We actually look for their rentals when we travel. They are very responsive and take good care of you. Mahalo Vacasa for another great vacation.

Perfect little house

This was a perfect property and jumping off point for local activities. Quit area and a close walk to town center for dinner and groceries. Kitchen is well stocked and the grill was nice to use! Will consider this property again

Great stay and very helpful staff!

My wife and I had a great time celebrating our anniversary in Girdwood and staying at this cabin. The hot tub was awesome. Great location. Also, Sean Marx, the local operations manager went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay, even calling me to let me know we left a piece of clothing and meeting up with me later in the day to make sure we got it. Can’t say enough good things about the cabin and the team! Thank you.

Wonderful experience!

The location was quiet and serene and the house was everything we expected based on the listing! It was clean and friendly and we would definitely either stay here again or recommend to a friend! The only reason we decided 4 stars instead of 5 was the difficulty/lack of clarity on where to park and how overgrown the pathway to the chalet was, making it difficult to bring luggage back and forth. Other than that, the perfect experience

Very Cute Condo

The jacuzzi was wonderful and great location. Very close to ski resort and near the heart of Girdwood. Kiddos loved it and enjoyed being able to bring dog to pet friendly accommodations. The only thing that was less than ideal was cleanliness and age/state of furnishings (bedding, couches, etc). Maybe bring your own blankets and pillows?

Nice get away

It was as the pictures show. A pretty cozy, older house, but over all just fine. The hot tub worked and that was awesome! I felt that the place could have been cleaner, but I have high standards. Walking distance to a few key places and restaurants. Overall it was a lovely visit.

Needs some TLC

I was a bit worried about staying here after reading other reviews, and while I didn't think it was horrible, this property could be so much better with a few simple updates. Pros: It's in a great, walkable location, and the complex was quiet. Nice hot tub. Great to have a washer/dryer. Easy parking. Cons: Furniture is quite worn and the carpet smells like dog. The walkway to the unit is very overgrown. Unfortunately, would look for another spot next time.

Girdwood Cabin at Alyeska Basecamp

This cabin has the most ideal location. You are about a 10 minute walk to downtown Girdwood, 4 minute walk to the Alyeska chair lift, 4 minute walk to the shuttle that will take you anywhere in town and about a 15 minute walk to the tram (if you don’t want to shuttle). The kitchen is fully equipped with all that you need. There is a grill and nice hot tub on the deck. Parking is right out from of the cabin. Plenty of storage space. 1.5 baths so the people upstairs do not have to come down the stair if they have to use the restroom. The feedback we gave the owners was the comfort level (or lack there of) of the mattresses - hopefully they invest the small amount to make this change (we would not return until this happens).

December ski trip

All and all the condo isn’t bad. They should not advertise the unit as having a hot tub, rather mention the cesspool out back you can use at your own risk. We complained day one about the low water level, about 60% full. They said they would fix it but no change, reached out again and they told me they leave it low to prevent spilling. We used it anyway and both of us ended up really itchy. To top it off they charged us a $60 spa fee and so far will not refund it. If a hot tub is important to you, skip this place.

Good location for skiing and good size for 2 couples, but.....

Good location for walking to the slopes. We did have a couple issues though. We tried for a week to contact the owner/manager but never got a response. We read a previous review explaining how the hot tub was half full, so we tried to contact the owner to make sure it was full, clean and up to temperature. We never heard from the owner so we contacted VRBO, which put us in touch with Vacasa about the issue. Vacasa promised they would send someone over to confirm it would be ready. Well...the hot tub was half full upon arrival. We also spent 20 minutes digging out the BBQ grill from a pile of snow. Once we got access to it we found that the propane tank was empty, so we couldn't cook our dinner.

Comfortable

Positives: very comfortable and spacious. nice beds. quiet area. others mentioned dated but that wasn't a problem for us. it was clean. wifi was good. gas fireplace is a nice touch. girdwood and the surrounding areas are great. Negatives: hot tub more like a warm bath. not much cable tv. extremely slippery long walkway to the unit from the parking lot. i'm used to snow and ice but this was shear ice and flat out unsafe. too far to walk with skis to the lifts (could have saved money and drove a couple more minutes). fees doubled the nightly rate. i'm not inclined to leave negative reviews and i wouldn't have if vacasa had been helpful. it took over a week to respond to an email before our trip. we asked for something to be done about the icy walkway and they didn't do anything. they were quick to send canned emails and ask me if i wanted to buy late checkout, just no communication that was helpful. maybe they are managing too many properties and can't be responsive.
