Perfect Trip

Great vacay location

We were here for family vacation. The location was with in walking distance of old town for us and close to bus stops when wanting to use the metro. Enjoyed our stay and the owners were so easy to work with! They have the house stocked with anything you could need and have an adorable little place!

Very clean and modern townhouse, close to downtown Alexandria and 15 minutes drive to Washington DC. Many extra perks in the kitchen and basically everything you would need for a relaxing stay.

Absolutely loved it

This was our first time renting. This place was so welcoming the moment we opened the door. It was so clean and the host has all the daily essentials there for you. It was easy to get around town and super close to public transportation which made it easy to get into DC. I would stay here again.

Awesome experience

We are a family of five grown adults and we absolutely enjoyed our stay here. We all fit and while it was cozy, it was clean and relaxing. The area was great for getting around easily to everything we wanted to see and experience. I highly recomment anyone staying here and Joel was very accommodating. A+++

Wonderful weekend

We had a wonderful girls weekend at this awesome place! We parked our cars when we arrived and that’s where they stayed all weekend. Old Town and King St is several blocks away. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. The house was very clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful weekend would definitely stay here again.

Best Place Ever/Best Host Ever

From our first day to our last, this townhome was perfect. The townhome is well supplied with everything you will need for a comfortable stay. A well equipped kitchen, wonderful linens, GREAT location, GREAT ambiance. Close to public transportation, we did not need a rental car. We stayed two weeks and when we had an issue flying out at the end of our trip, one call to Joel and we he assured us we could stay another night. We will be planning a return visit and The Dog House will definitely be our place to stay!

Great location, great host

The dog house is a great place to stay. We are a family of four and had a great time on our long weekend trip, we had plenty of room for the 4 of us, the house was very clean. The location is hard to beat, this was our second time coming to DC, but our first in Alexandria, we loved it. It was nice walking to king street, down to the water, and just all around. It seemed like we were just steps from everything. Joel was a great host, the house had anything we could possibly need, we had a question while we were there and we got a response right away. This is definitely a place we would stay again without question.

Terrific stay in Old Town

My wife and I spent two nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. The location is excellent with good amenities right nearby and the walks to King Street via side streets were charming. I was concerned about parking and that was no problem. We left our car parked right in front and never used it until we left. The interior space was excellent for two and very quiet. The furnishings were well chosen, comfortable and attractive. The kitchen was well stocked, the bathroom was first rate, and the master bedroom spacious with a very comfortable bed. I debated whether to book a hotel or this place and was so happy I made this choice. Highest recommendation.

The home was clean and organized with great furnishings. The backyard was a serene place for a quiet meal or having a cocktail. The walk to king street was only about seven blocks so access to restaurants was nearby. Great place to spend some time.

We stayed at the doghouse for a family vacation. It was very clean, had everything we could need, and was located only a short trip into DC. Street parking was easy and always available.The host was easy to communicate with and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Check out was easy-take out trash and put the used towels in a basket! We will definitely book again if we are in the area!

We really enjoyed our stay in Old Town Alexandria! The house was very clean and complete with all the amenities we needed. Parking was easy to find and it was a quick bus ride to the metro to head into DC. Everyone had a great time!

The Dog House was great! This is the second year my friends and I stayed. It has everything you could need and more! We had a great girls weekend! We parked our cars right in front when we arrived on Friday and didn’t drive the whole weekend. We walked everywhere very close to shops and restaurants! Super clean and comfortable beds. Thank you!

Alexandria Rowhome Dreams

We had a fantastic weekend stay at The Dog House. So conveniently located, clean, great appointments and cozy! Joel was reachable, but we didn't need anything while we were there. We live in the state, but opted to have a retreat space from our family and friends who were staying nearby at The Gaylord at the National Harbor. We were happy with our choice and the proximity to the commercial area, while being able to enjoy the quaint Old Alexandria neighborhood with all its charm. The bonus was being able to bring our pup along for the fun, too. We hate being away from him and usually have to make concessions with our rentals when considering bringing our dog along. The Dog House is one of those rare diamonds that checks all the boxes!We would absolutely stay here again!

We have lived all over the country, and we find ourselves coming back to Old Town, Alexandria time and again. We were tired of staying in hotels when we visited and decided to buy a place of our own and share it with others.

We bought this home because of its layout and its location. Its a comfortable home with plenty of room for a comfortable stay. Its location is idea for those interested in exploring Alexandria, DC or National Harbor. You can walk to the metro, restaurants, shops and the river; you can grab a Capital Bikeshare and explore the GW Parkway. This home is central to it all.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

You will love Old Town, Alexandria. The city was founded in 1749 and is home to many historical sites including Christ Church where both George Washington and Robert E Lee worshiped, Gatsby's Tavern, the Lee-Fendall Home and The Torpedo Factory. Old Town is set up as a grid, with most homes being multi-story townhomes with shared walls, charming gardens and for some, water views of the Potomac River.
