Perfect place to stay when visiting the park…minutes to the entrance. House is very clean and comfortable. The surrounding trees, plants, make you feel like you’re in a jungle…the birds and frogs are so soothing to listen to. Highly recommend!

Stayed once again in the Fern Cottage and had an amazing time in this cozy clean beautiful home. Owners have thought of everything! Family friendly home close to Volcano Village and the park. Wonderful Hosts :) Mahalo nui until next time

The property was well maintained and clean upon arrival. Host communicated effectively prior to check in to ensure a smooth check in process. The house was located very close to Volcanoes National Park, which is part of the reason for our stay. We enjoyed our stay and would book here again!

This was a nice property. We enjoyed our short visit there. We enjoyed how close it was to Volcano National Park and how secluded it was. The communication with the host was amazing.

The Fern Cottage lives up to its 9.8 rating. The beds were comfy and mattress heaters are a plus. The shower, kitchen and lanai were perfect for our short stay. Good location to VNP too. We will stay here again next year.

Apparently there was miscommunication as the house wasn't clean yet when we arrived at 7pm. Luckily, they quickly fixed it once we contacted them. Loved having separate bathrooms and huge bedrooms.

The house is lovely - cozy, clean, well equipped, including basic cooking condiments and spices, and comfortable. We had the unfortunate timing of arriving in during the massive Kona Low storm which affected our stay at the cottage. Matt was wonderfully responsive, helpful and understanding.

We enjoyed our stay in the rain forest. The cabin was perfect for us AND we experienced our first ever earthquake (don't worry, they are rare). It was weak but it was enough shaking for us. It did make our trip very memorable! The cabin is close to the park and close to the village. We liked Laneki Brewing, the dining room at Volcano House (no lava but steam vents and some glowing spots after dark), and Kilauea Lodge for lunch. We are from Portland, Oregon, so we are used to rain but it did rain a lot while in the Volcano area and it is so much cooler. Bring a sweater and rain jacket if you are coming from Kona...different worlds. If you are a birder, you will have no problems seeing Kilaj pheasants because we thought they were going to come in our back door!

The house had absolutely everything that was needed and was also very beautiful and comfortable. The host had left wonderful instructions, everything was plainly laid out in a book. We will rent here again, as we have a son that lives in volcano.!

Wow! We loved this place. Comfortable, welcoming. Great communication with host. All amenities we needed. Volcano can be cool at night, but gas stove and heated mattresses kept us cozy. Numerous options for coffee. Enjoyed nice afternoons in rockers on the porch. Close enough to visit Park. Food options were few but very good. Had pizza, Thai, and a wonderful lunch at the restaurant in the park. Would definitely recommend.

Great location for exploring Volcano National Park. Private location close to the park and local restaurants. Appreciated some of the little things that were provided like umbrellas that we forgot to pack, and an iPad that we used to monitor the live stream of the volcano. Lucky enough to be there for 38. We were at the park within 10 minutes of the start of the event. Highly recommend.
