Välkommen till Hamakua Pukana La Hale - En helt ny semesterbostad!

Detta vackert inredda 3 sovrum, 2 badrum hem ligger på ett privat acre paket längs Hamakua kusten norr om Hilo! Detta helt nya fritidshus med havsutsikt sover 7, max 4 vuxna och 3 kiddos. Den landskapsarkitektur och grunderna är spektakulära, med en 6 fot lång Buddha och meditation utrymme också. De franska dörrarna öppnar för att tillåta dessa vindar att fylla hemmet. Ingen luftkonditionering behövs här! December - mars är valss��song, och du får en främre plats för alla valaktiviteter som du eventuellt kan ta in.

Köket är stort och lätt att arbeta i och har naturligtvis alla bekvämligheter som du behöver för att laga upp de härliga ösmaten. Det stora sovrummet med eget badrum, king size-säng, privat havsutsikt, skärmad i Lanai är den perfekta flykten efter en lång dag med sightseeing. Det första gästrummet har en queen size-säng, och det andra gästrummet har en våningssäng för de yngre barnen med full på botten och tvilling på toppen.

Från detta praktiska läge utforska gamla Hilo stad med sin stora jordbrukare marknaden och historiska museer och måste se stopp. Upptäck också vackra Akaka Water Falls Park och Old Mamalahoa Highway, den ursprungliga vägen byggdes tillbaka på 20-talet som tog dig från Hilo stad till det vackra hästlandet Waimea.

Från huset är du bara en kort 20 minuters bilresa söderut till Hilo (många strandparker och snorkelplatser här), 20 minuter norrut till Honokaa, Waipio Valley och därifrån bara några minuter till den vackra vita sandig Hapuna Beach.

This place was calm and serene with amazing ocean views. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. There was covered parking adjacent to the house. Communication with the local property manager was excellent!

The directions were great and the host provided them in advance. There was a smoke detector that went off twice early in the morning and the host had the maintenance man come out that day to resolve the problem. The house was as described and clean. We’d stay again.

Wonderful stay

Cute home with views of the ocean from the front porch. We saw pigs and beautiful birds in the yard. The property and plants are serene for a getaway.

We loved our home base

It was amazing to have a comfortable home while out exploring the island! We are from Georgia and had a brief panic when we realized there was no air conditioning, but were impressed with how pleasant the house quickly becomes with open windows. It was a great stay - I wouldn’t change a thing!

Beautiful Hamakua

We rented this lovely house for a family wedding. Property was clean, perfect for family dinners and easy to childproof. Views of our beautiful Hamakua are stunning from this location. Was all around just perfect for our grown children and grandchildren. Mahalo nui loa

Peaceful retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of this rental is surrounded by greenery. It's on the rainy outside of the island so do expect some rain. Everything you need is provided. The beds are comfortable and the linens are clean. The washer and dryer was very convenient. The host was quick to respond when we tried to contact them. Grab groceries before you head here it's about 35 minute drive from Hilo. The drive to Kona is beautiful. If you plan to do activities I would book a couple in one day, due to the driving time. Beach supplies were also included which was very nice.

Lovely View From the Hamakua Coast

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view from the lanai and living room is awesome. We could easily see over the first tier of homes. Quite close to the highway, but noise wasn't a problem. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well-appointed, plenty of towels and beach accessories. The furniture is nice (just wish there was more of it in the living room). Very close to Akaka Falls, but about 20 minutes from Hilo. The mosquitoes are horrible--come prepared with deet! Also, not enough laundry or dish soap is provided (rather silly, considering what renters are paying). The single story layout was perfect for my 85-yr-old mother, although she did note a lack of grab bars. I do recommend this home, but you'll enjoy it more if you're prepared!

Misleading Picture of the House

First of, the picture listed of the house is NOT the actual house. Positives: Location was nice with good distance/access. View from the house was beautiful. Spacious for 7 people. It was nice to have washer/dryer. The Hawaii Life folks were responsive.Negatives: completely misled with the pictures of where the house is relative to the area. Bit dirty; lots of dust/dirt on kitchen counters. No cell signal; make sure you have call over wifi active, otherwise make sure to have the email for Hawaii Life rep to communicate. House needs a bit of updating; no instructions on some of the outdated features (incl shower) so it took effort to figure out how to operate. Wouldve been nice to have more toiletries; 2 tiny bars of soap for 7 people is ridiculous. Biggest issues was the moldy smell of the entire house (incl bed).. Would not stay at this location again

No wine glasses - (issue is now fixed as we bought some from target and left behind! :) )Coffee pot could be upgradedOverall the cons we felt were very minimal things (except the water but hopefully they fix the problem!) It is a little far from everything so expect to drive- the flipside of that is that it is a beautiful drive! Our favorite close-by spot was Laupahoehoe beach park (10 min) and Waimea Town (30min). Our suggestion is to get groceries before arriving to the house if you can, each big store is about 30-40 min drive. Be sure to pack a sweater because you’ll want to watch the sunrise from the lanai but it can feel a little chilly!

Perfect get away

Views are spectacular with the nightly sounds of frogs and occasional wild pig sittings. It’s location Is a nice short distance from Hilo and a little short trip to Kona with beautiful stops along the way. Perfect spot for roaming Akaka falls, cow cuddling, the botanical gardens and the Hilo farmers market.

It was comfortable, clean, had sufficient amount of amenities, and the TV was SMART - so a few latest technologies were included. The home was a bit out of the way for us, as the reason for the trip being our attendance at the Merrie Monarch festival in Hilo, the description and directions to the home were very accurate. My only comment, which is strictly personal, is I would choose other accent decor...the tikiʻs, tribal masks, and little coconut figurines kind of weirded us out from a local perspective. Again, only personal opinion. Otherwise, Hamakua Pukana La Hale was a lovely vacation getaway! Mahalo!

Nice location - secluded with nice views of the ocean.

Great house. A little warm during the day, but we were out of the house most of the time - cools off nice in the evening. House is a little far from many of the tourist activities (this is both good and bad - really quite area). 35-40 mins to Hilo, a little over an hour to Hapuna Beach. Nice kitchen set up - used everyday for breakfast and some dinners. We really enjoyed our stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an enjoyable time here. The location was easy to get to and a centralized location. We had some problems with the internet, but after unplugging and replugging the problem was solved. Our only complaint is that we were unable to get cell phone service while at the house. This is due to the location of the property, not the owner's fault.

Cozy clean in a quiet area
