Great Location But House Needs Work

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is in a great location. But the house needs work. First there was a lot of water coming in from the roof during a rainstorm. Turns out a lot of tiles were missing from the roof. Secondly the master bathroom needs a lot of work - the wallpaper is peeling and the shower rod is rusty. The couch in the living room is rattan and not very comfortable. The house is quite so an ious and has a nice sunroom.

Peaceful vacation

There were multiple leaks, 4 that we counted 3 in the living room and one in the kitchen. Gave me concern that there maybe a mold problem.

Spent too much time putting out pots to catch water leaking in, then making sure the kids didn’t trip over them when playing inside. Great Vacation Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Enjoyed our stay here. Couldn't have asked for a closer place on the beach. It was great!My only complaint is when we got there it was extremely hot in the house. It was set at 76 and said "keep at 76". That is way to hot to keep a house when its in the 90's. It did cool off once we lowered the temp but there was no way we could keep it at 76 and be happy and comfortable. The rooms don't seem to have good airflow and were stuffy. They have fans in the bedrooms so we used those. The place could use an updated AC unit. Thankfully the place eventually cooled off in all and we stopped sweating. The house itself was great and the locations is the selling point to this house. I would stay again. Staff was really nice when checking in!

Reviewer Comments: Had a wonderful time - first time at the little house. we usually stay at another house. great location can beat the view of the beach, screened in back was nice, house had some problems though. Kitchen sink was leaking and roof - we were mopping up water. quaint little house. just needs a good cleaning. I left a necklace behind, i believe it fell on the bathroom floor; called the office they said they would check on it and no one ever got back to me. that was disappointing. otherwise overall a good family time.

It is like coming home every year and have stayed here since the LITTLES bought the house in early 80’s. The location is perfect with beach out the front door and creek in the back. The dingy house

Delighted at the Dinghy in South Pawleys

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Once again, we were pleased with every aspect of our October week at The Dinghy. The charm of this oceanfront cottage brought back fond memories of staying on the island decades ago. The house has vintage character along with current comforts of well lit sparkling clean rooms and bathrooms, well stocked kitchen, showers with wonderful water pressure (both indoors and out), and the convenience of an elevator. The location close to the southern inlet provided much to do, explore, and see on foot: bird and sea life watching, shell collecting, and watching fishermen. Bonus: Sunrise viewing on the Carolina Porch and sunset viewing on the creekside deck. The owners have carefully maintained their home and Tidelife is always available to make your stay comfortable and convenient in every way.

The creek side entrance door needed some maintenance, it would not unlock with the key. It rained hard on our 1st day and their were leaks in the livingroom ceiling. My husband would have loved a dock dedicated to the Dinghy to fish from, all the other homes on the street had a dock. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the Dinghy and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay on the quieter end of Pawley's Island.

Gorgeous Stay but Lack of Transparency

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved our stay at the Dingy. Grew up going to this house when it was owned by my Aunt. Only complaint is that I have yet to receive a breakdown for the charges for my stay despite asking twice. My rate was $300/night and given my payment of over $2,000 that equates to $800 in surcharges. Would like to know what those charges are before staying again or recommending it to a friend.
