Familjevänlig fjällstuga med fantastisk western utsikt i gated community.

Välkommen till Mountain Majesty, eller som vi gillar att kalla det ekorrehuset! Detta hem byggdes 2007 och har använts som ett fritidshus. Vår familj hyrde det vid flera tillfällen och blev kär. Vi fick nyligen möjlighet att köpa hemmet och gjorde det utan tvekan. Den välkomnande samhället, den spektakulära utsikten och den mysiga stugan känns allt du behöver känna dig som hemma.

Vårt hem sover 10 personer bekvämt, med utrymme att koppla av och leka inifrån och ut. Njut av de fantastiska däcken - ett täckt huvuddäck med vippor som sveper runt till ett stort däck med picknickbord, gasgrill och fantastisk utsikt västerut till Blue Ridge Mountains samt Mount Mitchell. Tre av sovrummen har även privata balkonger - det perfekta stället att fly för lugn och ro. På huvudnivå matsviten ingår ett extra långt badkar för dig att sträcka ut och koppla av. Den nedre vardagsrummet innehåller ett biljardbord, fotbollsplan och en garderob full av filmer och brädspel för att göra din vistelse rolig oavsett väder.

Vårt hem ligger utanför Interstate 40, utanför Morganton och Marion, NC. Det finns så mycket att göra inom en radius på 30-60 mil: bryggerier, vingårdar, shopping, vandring och mer! Vi hoppas att du besöker Mountain Majesty - aka Ekorre Nest.

Views for sunset are wonderful on the back porch. Coffee and deer watching on the side porch in the mornings was nice also. Grandview peaks is a great neighborhood to relax and enjoy the Views. My family enjoy it yearly. Simple check in and communication with the owner was good. House is very well stocked.

Best Cabin Ever!

This cabin was perfect for our family holiday vacation. Ages 10 through 73 were comfortable and very pleased with their stay. We will be back to this location for sure!

Beautiful property with a view

Enjoyed our stay for our family vacation, great views and close to Lake James for boating and swimming. One small problem that was out of everyone’s control. House was big and enough room for everyone to enjoy time together or spread out if you wanted to. Outdoor access to decks on every floor and lots of games and movies for the young ones. Would stay again. Great value for the money.

Beautiful and warm setting

We booked this trip to be with my children and grandchildren. For Christmas. It eas perfect the kids loved the game room whille the adults enjoyed the cozy den and rocking chairs . The house was decorated for rhe holidays with so many warm touches.

a long weekend of pure bliss

This lovely home provided my siblings, spouses and myself the perfect setting to celebrate my father's 91st birthday. The house and property are in tip-top shape, fastidiously cleaned and perfectly maintained. The quiet location in a secluded, friendly, safe neighborhood is well worth the effort of stocking up on groceries beforehand. Every feature, from the house's situation on the property, to the structural soundness and thoughtful design, shows care and pride of ownership. Every amenity has been chosen for the comfort and convenience of guests. The kitchen is amazingly well-stocked for serious cooking, but also orderly and uncluttered. The pool table, games, puzzles and movies are plenty to keep the whole crowd occupied, although we spent our time cooking and talking. The porch is a huge draw, with eight rockers, a covered area, a wonderful gas grill, and a spectacular view of sunsets and the night sky. Each bedroom is a welcome retreat, outfitted with sumptuous sheets and luxurious Turkish towels. And finally, the owners are just good people, generous and thoughtful, and their kindness and consideration made all the difference in our stay. It was our great pleasure to spend a long weekend together at their house.

Relaxing Mountain Stay

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Squirrels Nest and the house was beautiful. The hosts had thought of everything and were so accommodating. We loved the porch/balconies and the rocking chairs were the perfect way to enjoy the sunset and sunrises. Our group already is talking about coming back next year! We traveled with 5 kids under 5 and the house layout and accommodations helped to make our stay enjoyable as parents.

Beautiful mountain house

My family and I had a great time staying at this beautiful mountain home. There is plenty of rocking chairs to sit, chat, relax, and enjoy the views. It has a gorgeous view of the mountains, clean, plenty of activities do to in the house and swimming at the lake. My 3 older kids (ages 3-9) were thoroughly entertained in the downstairs area with the pool table, shuffle board, checkers, and TV. If you have an infant, you will need to bring your own pack and play for sleeping, booster seat for eating, and be very watchful of the stairs. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of kitchen ware for cooking and the grill is very nice. Overall, we loved our experience and highly recommend.

Great Mountain Cabin!!

I'm not big on writing/participating in surveys/reviews, but I have to compliment the owners and the amazing cabin! The owner's made check-in/out a breeze, and they were prompt with answering questions on the home and area. I can go on and on with compliments about the cabin and community amenities, but simplified, it was a cozy cabin that has everything you could possibly need and more. Really enjoyed the rustic and comforting decor, and the mountain view is beautiful!! Definitely look to return for a longer stay!

Very Impressed

We were looking to spend Thanksgiving away from home and this place was perfect. The views, the spacious cabin, etc were all spectacular. James and Karen were very thorough with all of the instructions, making check-in and check-out a breeze. We are already looking forward to when we can come back!!

Gorgeous view and property!

This is a beautiful home with a spectacular view of the mountains! We loved the rocking chairs on the porch for morning coffee, and also for sunset wine. The home is spacious, with a full bathroom and bedroom(s) on each floor. Ken was incredibly helpful and responsive. We loved our stay!

Our vacation at this cabin was perfect! Beautifal mountain views. And the place had everything you could possibly need. They had thought of everything. We haven't been on a family vacation since our children were small and this was the perfect choice for us!

Our stay was nothing short of magnificent. The house really offers everything. It is very cozy with beautiful large rooms. Especially impressive are the beautiful nature and the very nice views. We really enjoyed our stay and can only recommend this cabin.

Perfect mountain get away with perfect hosts!

Our second trip to this wonderful home was met with a pretty major winter storm. The owners took care of us, and gave us options to make sure we didn’t get caught in a terrible situation. Wonderful hosts with amazing and caring communication! Beyond that, the house is the perfect get away for a group! Plenty of places to gather, or to have some private time. The game room was of courses a gathering place, the kitchen is well stocked, and the loft was perfect for some early morning yoga! This was our second trip, and definitely not our last!! 10/10

Fantastic Christmas stay

Beautiful views abound at this property. This was our first Christmas that we spent away from home and it was such a great experience, the kids are ready to do it again. The home is very well appointed, comfortable and the decorations were beautiful and just right to make it feel like a home away from home. Communication was great and the check in process was very easy. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely stunning and awesome

The house was stunning and immaculate. The back porch looks directly at the sunset. It was beautiful! Games, DVDs, pots, pans, muffin tins, knives, cutting boards, whisks, linens, blankets, pillows, hair dryers.... literally everything you need except your clothes and toiletries. The beds were all very comfortable and plenty of places to sit on the porch and at the dining table. I don't think there's anything different we could've asked for. 4 adults, two 5 year olds, a 7 year old and a 9 month old. Apple Hill Orchard apple picking. State Park hike. Morganton is a precious little town nearby for quaint eats and shopping. We all agreed it was a trip to remember and would love to come back again!!! Thank you!

Great vacation

We had a wonderful stay at Ken and Karen’s home. The views from the home were outstanding and the house itself was perfect for our multigenerational group. Lots of outside yard for the children to run and play, as well as indoor spaces to gather. Kitchen was well appointed and our hosts were attentive and communicative. Great place to stay.

Fall Mountain trip

We rented this cabin for a long weekend in order to spend time w/ our adult children & grandchildren. It is a beautiful home w/ comfortable beds, a nice kitchen & a wonderful view of the mountains. We got to see several beautiful sunsets! The owners are very helpful! They gave us maps to the hiking trails & community lake. We will definitely make a return trip to this beautiful place!

Very Nice Stay

The cabin was awesome and met the expectations we had based on the listing. Very clean and plenty of space for our family. Beautiful view of the mountains and sunsets were beautiful. Recommended it to friends.
