Great Location, will return.

Maalea is a quiet, secluded spot to get away from it all on Maui, but within easy driving distance of the entire island. You’ll find yourself watching the sunrise often, or everyday as we did, and the enjoy beautiful sunsets from the porch. It is the perfect size for two, very clean and nicely decorated. You’ll love you stay.

Great condo with everything we needed for our stay

Enjoyed the condo during our stay. The decor and the Hawaiian music on when we entered was a great touch. Pool and grounds were well kept and seeing the sea turtles feeding below was special. This is my last trip to Maui and it was perfect. Mahalo.

Perfect Location

Really enjoyed the location of this rental. We were able to visit thw whole island from this central location and avoided the crowds of the resorts.

The rental was great location on the west side with good proximity to Kihei and. The unit was tranquil, quiet and really cozy. We also really liked all the amenities that came with the property, from beach chairs down to the binoculars for whale watching right off the patio! We enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Condo had some issues, Mgmt company helped out

Prior to our January stay in the Maalaea Banyons condo 104, I had looked at listing again and read recent reviews. One said dryer was not working or present. I contacted the owner via VRBO message to inquire about new dryer and was told it would be delivered before our visit.A day or two before our visit Mgmt company let me know was still a problem, so they offered to pick up our laundry weekly and provide a discount to price of stay. This worked, and then dryer delivery scheduled during our stay so we could do our own wash/dry. We also told them of other issues: dishwasher not properly installed so tips forward when loading; ants and roaches in unit; insufficient cleaning equipment (no broom, cleaning rags, cleaning supplies not labeled so not sure of use/purpose). Mgmt company staff very nice and helpful, but this was not as pleasant of a stay due to these issues. We were staying 3 1/2 weeks and supplies were inadequate quantities so they brought us more.

The place is exactly as described. The sea turtles show up every night, the view is amazing, the shower has good pressure, and it’s a short walk from the harbor and dining options. Loved it!

Wonderful Place to Stay

Perfect Location! Not in the middle of Hustle and Bustle of the Tourist Side. Close to the Marina for Excursions and Activities. Close to Local Flavor!! And Close to the Highway along the Coast ...a beautiful drive all the way to Kapalua!!! Turtles on the shore. Gorgeous Ocean and Haleakala Views!! We'll be back!!

Delightful Stay

We had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped. The outdoor grill the grounds were well cared for. The pool and hot tub were lovely.It was a great location, so close to many of the activities we had planned while on that part of Maui. And best of all, we had the waves to lull us to sleep!

Maui Oceanfront Marathon

Great place to stay for the Maui Oceanfront Half Marathon - walking distance to race start and to dinner cruise. Unit was accurately described. Very clean, bed and pillows very comfortable, great ocean view, pleasant lanai and backyard. Tante restaurant in walking distance - great menu at reasonable prices. Visited Maui Ocean Center Aquarium, also walking distance.

Four nights with ocean view

We try to go to Maui once every two years. We routinely stay in Kihei but this year we chose to stay near Maalaea Harbor. This condo had a very comfortable bed and all the basics we needed for our stay. The building and unit were well maintained, nothing fancy, but also less cost than many of the other locations we considered. There is a nice long walkable beach at the end of the street, but only a very small beach area on the property (turtles come ashore at sunset which is cool to watch). Next time we will likely stay on an upper floor so we can watch the whales from the balcony.

Fabulous stay in the middle of the island!

We loved this condo. It was perfect for us. Nice and new feeling on the inside in an older but very well maintained building. Loved the bathroom and the kitchen. The washer and dryer are in the kitchen but we loved having them in the condo. Very comfortable and the view is amazing! Turtles can be seen at both ends of the property! We loved being halfway between Kaanapali and the Wailea. We were able to go to restaurants at both ends and across the island at Paia. We even booked a whale watching excursion out of the marina right beside us. I would definitely stay here again.

Please be aware that the A/C is in the living room ONLY. It was very old and dirty. Upon arrival we had to clean the filter before use. The cool air did not reach the bedroom and with the high humidity level, made for very uncomfortable sleep. The windows and screens thrughout the unit were not secured and very dirty, I was not comfortable openeing them for a cross breeze. The exterior premesis were immaculate and the location was central on the island. Easy access to all activites. The unit was sell stocked with everything you need. It just needs a thorough interior cleaning (A/C; rug; drapes/tracks & windows).

Amazing Oceanfront Condo

This property and condo exceeded my expectations! Maa'laea Banyans is a beautifully kept property, very secure and well maintained. The condo unit itself was so cozy. We spent 9 days here and were so sad for our time to come to an end. It was so amazing waking up to see the gorgeous sunrise right outside of our condo, and being able to go down to the beach area at night to watch the sea turtles resting was such a dream! We even got to see some during the day! The bed was very comfortable too! This trip was a literal dream come true, and picking this condo to stay in was part of what made the trip so wonderful. If you are considering this property, you won't be disappointed!

Quiet and peaceful getaway

This property offers a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the mainland but also a quiet escape from the island. The views are incredible and the quiet manner of the property offers the ability to listen to the waves from your condo at all times. There seems to be a disconnect from. The owners to the property management as trash receptacles are not open at all hours to dispose of trash. Listing the access hours could be helpful. Additional details from the owners regarding condo amenities provided and appliance operation would also be appreciated (explain it’s a Roku tv and give a standard explanation of the dishwashers and laundry). Otherwise, this condo provided all that is needed for a wonderful Maui vacation.

Absolutely perfect getaway!

The condo is newly updated. The whole place is lovely. So glad for a really nice bathroom and kitchen. (There is a washer/dryer in the kitchen but we were glad to have it!) The view is spectacular - I took a lot of pictures! There are turtles in front every day. There is no beach to put chairs and lay out on but the grassy area is very nice and you can walk down to the sand and rocks to see the turtles up close. Bed was comfortable, shower was great. Two beach chairs were available and beach towels.They had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Some people might not like the area - you are not "in town" for close restaurants and stores (there are a few at the Ocean Center) but we loved it! We felt like we were central to the whole island and planned our days accordingly. We went a different direction every day. And on our last day we had a boating excursion at the harbor right down the street. Perfect!

Beautiful location but condo not as advertised

The area is remote, beautiful, and charming. The unit was definitely updated and fairly clean with a few exceptions. The unit listed a washer/dryer, but they called us on the first day to say no dryer. Then we had guys come and take the dryer away. A bother, but they gave us a rebate for the trouble. Had that been the only issue, no problem! The most frustrating thing was that the listing says A/C, but that’s not exactly true. There is a single window unit in the living room. Under ideal conditions, it is definitely not big enough to cool the entire unit. So there’s partial A/C—seems like that’s an easy and honest fix to the listing. The bedroom was extremely hot and humid. When we opened the windows in the bedroom, there was instant rush of welcomed air, but not welcomed were the bugs from the outside. The screen was not the right size for the window and there was a two inch gap at the top to the outside. We called and someone was sent out to replace the screen—but it ended up being two days sleeping in the hot bedroom for us. The very dirty curtain in the bedroom over the window kept falling off if the rod as well, but the screen guy fixed that too. After it was fixed, it was still not A/C as advertised. No compensation or response from the host when I asked for it. Having workmen in the unit disrupting our vacation on three occasions was not relaxing. The grounds there are lovely, however.

Maalaea Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is in a great location just between Lahiana and Kihei. It's super easy to get to, the property is a quiet sleepy complex that is perfect for a low key and relaxing vacation. We found the condo to be well cleaned and supplied with the basics a vacationer needs. My cons: The bedroom is stuffy as there is no a/c. A simple standing unit would be a great addition. I'm a cold natured person and always require a or blanket and even I was uncomfortable in the bedroom. Thank goodness I was a single sleeper! The dryer doesn't dry - it seems improperly vented. We called for repair and they sent someone but it never did dry anything. This was disappointing as we packed light knowing we'd have a washer and dryer. And finally, the property is a non-smoking property, but the maintenance crew didn't follow this rule. It made sitting outside to enjoy a beachfront lanai impossible.

Great stay away from the hordes of tourists

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo we rented via CBIP vacations was perfect for two people. We had a ground floor (which we required); the condo was clean, well stocked and the instructions were timely and concise.

Good location but short on important materials

My impression is that this place is not owned by people who know much about a functional kitchen. Many parts are awkward. One funny example is that there's a cabinet door with no knob. You have to reach under the door with your hand or foot to open it. The glass door for the shower had a broken edge. The sink is set on top of the counter with little clearance to the cupboards and no space for a dish rack. The appliances are new and of good quality but had no manuals. We had to guess how to use them. There is a fold out couch and many extra pillows, but no sheets or pillow cases for using this as a bed. For what we got it was very overpriced. I loved being so close to the beach park down the street. I walked there barefoot several times! Also convenient is the little village of shops, restaurants and the Ocean Aquarium and the marina where many boat tours start.

Beautiful, quiet spot

Everything was great, the location, other guests, and on site management. One thing we we slightly disappointed in, no basic staple items, flour, sugar, ketchup & mustard, facial tissue. We will stay here again.
