13 Acre Retreat en timme utanför Dallas med 3 fiske dammar fyllda med Bass, Blue Gill, Catfish och Crappie! Avskilt och ganska, men bara 10 miles till Canton och första måndags Trade Days. Fisk från den privata balkongen, gör ett brännande lägereld i eldstaden, ta Jon båten ut på de stora dammarna, fågelskådning, stjärnblick, spela hästskor eller bara koppla av och ta i naturen. Antik och konst shopping i närliggande Canton och andra charmiga städer som Ben Wheeler och Edom (med sin blomstrande konstgemenskap).

Charmig stuga som påminner om ett gammalt skolhus kan rymma upp till 8 gäster på 2 våningar. Första våningen har ett separat sovrum med queen size-säng och queen size utdragbar soffa, samt privat badrum med dusch, rymligt vardagsrum med tv och fullt utrustat kök. Great place to stay

House is clean and beautiful. The pier is a great place to fishing. We got 9 sun fish in 1 hour. Fish is small so we released them.

Fishing heaven!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this charming cabin over Spring Break with 3 boys under the age of 10! The comfort and amenities exceeded our expectations, making it the perfect getaway. One of the highlights of our trip was the incredible fishing experience right off the cabin deck. The proximity to the water allowed us to cast our lines just steps from the front door, and we were thrilled to catch some nice-sized largemouth bass without having to venture far. The peaceful and picturesque setting added to the overall enjoyment, creating unforgettable memories. Thank you for providing such a wonderful escape—we can't wait to return!

Vacation in Eustace

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing time and appreciate that we were able to bring our dogs with us. It was so much fun seeing their reactions to the woods and ponds while hiking around with them. Fishing right off the deck to the cabin was great for my wife with her limited mobility and we could have caught as many as we wanted. It is a beautiful property which I have visited before and will visit again in the future

Relax and unwind

Nice property to visit, relax, and unwind. We enjoyed the quite neighborhood and fishing the ponds. It was also close to Canton Trade Days, where we shopped each day.

Exactly what we needed!

Country setting just outside of town. Girls weekend to attend Trade Days and it was exactly what we wanted! Morning coffee on the deck overlooking the small lake, games inside during a storm, it was great! Rebooked for next year!

Whistling Duck Cabin was perfect

We had an awesome time with our 15 and 19 year old daughters at the cabin. It was peaceful and comfortable. We spent most of our time outdoors and we had so much fun fishing together. Our 80lb dog loved the place even more than we did. Russ is super responsive and very nice!! We hope to return and catch the giant catfish that broke our 15 year old’s line!

Relaxing weekend getaway

We had a wonderful stay! Russ was very helpful and was quick to respond when we had questions. My kids thoroughly enjoyed paddling the boats around the pond. We all had a great time fishing and everyone caught several bass and bluegill. Saw lots of other wildlife which is always fun. There is not an indoor connection between the first and second floor, which isn't an issue unless it is raining:) I would thoroughly recommend this place! It was secluded, quiet, and made for a great time with family!

Peaceful and surrounded by nature

We loved our time at whispering Duck. We loved sitting out on the two decks, the breeze off the pond, walking the trails, grilling and saw many birds including Whispering Ducks, a Blue Heron, hawks, and a big ole turtle! It was the perfect peaceful location to recharge and unwind. The accommodations were clean and comfortable! We grilled and cooked inside when a storm rolled through. Listening to the rain and thunder we saw Mother Nature! We’ll definitely come back! Also checked out East Texas Arboretum and Botanical Society in Athens and walked their 2 miles of trails. Gorgeous.

Really enjoyed our 2-night stay at The Schoolhouse

Really enjoyed our 2-night stay at The Schoolhouse. The cabin was very well equipped for a rental. We usually come well prepared, but I will say that there was everything you need already there which we really appreciated. We used the outdoor fire ring multiple times, we used the Weber charcoal grill, and the outdoor seating. The AC worked fine and the beds were more comfortable than your typical rental cabin. We also fished (bank and row boat) and we walked around the grounds. The fishing was tough - mostly some really small 8-10IN bass from all 3 ponds. If you stay in the schoolhouse, you'll have neighbors staying across the pond, but as long as your neighbors are well mannered and observe quiet hours, then you'll experience plenty of peace and quiet. I don't hesitate to recommend and I would stay again.

Wonderful place to relax with the family ! We would definitely stay here again !

Russ and Jenn provided everything you could ask for in a waterfront cabin ! Beautiful views, quiet and peaceful. Kitchens had everything you would need. All linens provided. Heaters and air conditioners available. My personal favorite thing, a claw foot tub !!! A shower and all the towels required. Plus all the extras, a fire pit, a grill and boat with paddles. Life jackets and fishing poles available as well. We had a wonderful stay. We caught a few fish. We all sat by the fire pit in the cool night air, burning wood that was provided for us. The fishing and boating made for some great memories for my 9 yr old grandson ! The absence of wifi wasn't as big a deal as he anticipated. A couple of things could have been better. The sheets on our bed would not stay on the bed through the night, the pockets were not deep enough to fit the mattress. However the bed was very comfortable. The deck could use some glow in the dark safety stripes. Our old eyes just couldn't make out the differences in the levels, resulting in a few stumbles. And several of the stairs are severely buckled making the climb to the second floor a little scary. The property is recently under new ownership and I am sure these things will be remedied in short order ! Don't hesitate to book your stay , you won't regret it !

So organized by the owners. This was an amazing experience for our family. The cabin was so clean up and downstairs. Such a calming atmosphere to be at. We will definitely be back!!!!

Better than expected

It would be hard to find a better setting than this cabin on the water’s edge. Every view is better than you imagined and there’s even an upper deck to see the stars. The cabin was clean and well prepared for our stay and the beds were extremely comfortable. My son and his friends didn’t want to leave which says it all.

Relaxing and peaceful

The cabin is backed up right to the water. It’s quiet and relaxing. My son and my brother caught a lot of fish and enjoyed having options of places to fish.

Perfect, again!

Friends and I stayed here last year, it was awesome! And just as great this year! Location is secluded, yet close to town. Spent the mornings on the deck overlooking the lake, the birdwatching was amazing, our bird app, Merlin, identified over 31 different birds. The whistling ducks were seen many times. The house has everything you could need! Highly recommend!

Family Vacation

If you’re looking for a family vacation rental, this is the place. There are plenty things to do on the property, including fishing, outdoor games, barbecue, out door fire pit, picnics or just going on a nature walk. We took full advantage of everything the property has to offer. Looking forward to booking our next vacation day.

It was a true “Glamping” adventure

The owner was quick to respond to any questions we had. Everything was ready for us when we arrived, including fishing poles. Once we got there all was fine. However The sign was so small we didn’t see it and there were branches overhanging the small driveway. We ended up at the next campsite and they told us how to get to ours.
