Vintage Lake Ontario stuga byggdes 1902.

Denna stuga ligger precis vid södra kusten av Lake Ontario. Byggdes 1902 som en bortgång från stadens heta och rörelse, stod den här stugan i hem- och trädgårdsmagasinet på 1950-talet. Vi har helt ombyggt och moderniserats med ett funktionellt pittoreskt kök och moderna badrum men ändå behåller sin charm. Det är lätt gångavstånd från resturants och några av de bästa öring och laxfiske i världen. Soluppgångar och solnedgångar är spektakulära!

Stunning views, adorable cottage

Just perfect. Dan could not have been more accommodating, the cottage is the most charming in which we have stayed, and the view is gorgeous. You truly cannot get any closer to the water. We hope to return next May!

Cutest cabin almost like being on a boat!

The cabin is so charming and comfy cozy, the sun helped so we could enjoy the beautiful Lake Ontario literally out your back door We went down the river in the kayaks-Also provided. and just enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend, ate at the local restaurants we could walk to and felt very refreshed and relaxed

House Boat on Lake Ontario!

Great spot so close to the water you feel like youre on a boat! Listening to the waves and water all night long is a treat! A few watering holes along with farm/fruit stands nearby are a plus. Highly recommend!

Peaceful Lakeside Perfection

This property and Dan, the owner, are charming and accomodating in equal measure. Dan's cottage is thoughtfully stocked with anything you might need or want during your stay - the Burling family's little touches really make the place feel like home. I stayed the last week of May and experienced four seasons' worth of weather in five days. Anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable pet-friendly stay in this region will be very happy here.

A beautiful getaway!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We most enjoyed the location right on the lake and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It was June, but we had a warm day and could swim and kayak in the lake. We also enjoyed a nice BBQ on the deck. The house was extremely well cleaned and communication with the property owner was smooth. We would definitely like to stay here again if the opportunity comes up. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Great fishing vacation

Great host, great property, and great location. Can’t find anything to complain about as this cottage was perfect for my fishing vacation with my two sons. On the water with a comfortable deck. Unfortunately for me that I like to visit the Oak during gnat season and can’t enjoy the deck on warm nights. When the cool water and breeze kept them away, it was enjoyable. Dan communicated and made sure we enjoyed our stay. Hope to be back next year!

Quiet tranquility

Great place to unwind out of the way. This place is right on the lake. As noted in the listing, you will not have access to the water directly from the property. But a boat launch is within walking distance. Easy to lose track of time relaxing to the sound of the water and enjoying the lake breeze. This place is exceptionally clean. Kudos to the house cleaner.

Peace and relaxing

My daughter and her cousin, our doggie and I, also a friend came for visit for a night! Girls weekend! We had a lovely time with zero plans. Cooking and eating. Rock painting, walks, and enjoying the porches. The house was adorable with everything we needed. Even extra details like games and kayaks. But the view alone was enough! Was a perfect stay for a break from day to day to kick off the nice weather. Ps. It rained one day which made the lake exciting while we still had respite under the porches and views from all the sliding doors! Thanks so much!

Swan & migrating geese

If you want to experience life on the water this is the place for you! I could not wait for my eyes to look out over water for as far as you can see, this is all that the pictures portray. Not only are the sunrises and sunsets pretty amazing, but you can get a true sense of all Mother Nature has to offer. The master bedroom is like being on the water, my favorite spot to listen to the waves crash and the wind howl through the night only to open your eyes to watch the sun rise on a new, beautiful day. Wow! Thank You!

Charming, CLEAN, and Comfortable

Beyond the charm of this Victorian cottage (with modern updates) and the unspoiled beauty of the lake; what hits you the moment you walk in the door is how immaculately clean it is!! A real treat was waking up, in the master bedroom, to the glorious sunrise coming in the window; and viewing the equally magnificent sunset from the deck. The wonderful upstairs bathroom was an unexpected luxury, and the downstairs half bath was greatly appreciated. The kitchen, while small, was functional, well equiped with good quality dishes, cookware, etc., and extremely well organized, The ceiling fan in the kitchen was almost as good as air conditioning. We were there during two excessively hot weeks, so we appreciated the air conditioners in the bedrooms, and the very comfortable beds. We were glad we brought some small oscillating fans for the downstairs rooms. The only negatives were a lack of a door on the smaller bedroom; and the rather scary top step with it's tiny landing (for which there may be no solution). Everything else was so perfect, we just learned to cope with the top of the stairs! We thank the Burlings for sharing their special haven on the lake!

I am a retired Pharmacist and Pharmacy owner. I served 4 years active duty in the Marine Corps to include a 13 month tour in Vietnam. I served 20 years in elected office including 14 years in the NYS Legislature. I have been a Coast Guard licensed charter boat captain for over 35 years and am now retired but still fish often. My wife Jeannie and I have been married 52 years and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

This cottage sits right on the shore of Lake Ontario one of the largest bodies of fresh water in the world. We have completely remodeled and upgraded this gem without destroying its charm. The sounds and sites of "The Lake" are ever present.
