Mycket trevlig luftkonditionerad lägenhet i hjärtat av Florens, mycket centralt. Några steg från den berömda Ponte Vecchio vid floden Arno och alla de viktigaste monumenten i staden, som Pitti Palace och Uffizi Gallery. Huset ligger på andra våningen (50 trappsteg) i en byggnad med 5 våningar, i ett lugnt område. Ett rymligt sovrum med badrum, ett litet och charmigt kök med utsikt över ett ljust vardagsrum, där det finns en bekväm bäddsoffa. Perfekt för ett par eller för en familj med ett eller två barn. Incheckning sker från kl. 15.00 till 19.00. För senare incheckning fram till midnatt tillkommer en avgift på 30 euro som ska betalas kontant vid incheckningen.

Florence Experience

Our stay in Gemma overall was a very good experience. We were very close to Ponte Vechio which allowed us to be within walking distance of almost everything Florence has to offer! We had a couple of issues with the VRBO, nothing major. There were mosquitoes in the armoires and I would wake up with new bug bites every morning. Additionally, some of the dishes were dirty, but this was not a huge deal for us. Overall we enjoyed our stay, just a couple of things I wanted to share so the owner can make sure the next person’s experience is even better!

Florence was fabulous!! We loved all the history, beauty and charm. It didn’t disappoint!

We loved our apt. It was spacious enough for two and offered all the amenities we needed. Vanni, our host was very helpful, pleasant and gracious. We would book this apt. again.

Great stay

Very close to ponte vecchio, yet in a very quiet area. Walking distance to SMN train station, main sites in centro storico, lots of restaurants, etc. Vanni was easy to communicate with, accommodating and quick to respond. Property as described. Washing machine was a big plus for us. Highly recommend.

Great apartment, great location

Vanni was a great, communicative host. Check in was easy. We loved the location - walking distance to everything, and on a quieter part of the city. Having the washing machine was a lovely perk as we had already done some travelling in other cities. About 20 minute walk to the Accademia Gallery, Piazzele Michaelangelo, just a few minute walk to Ponte Vecchio. A great grocery store and gelatos shop just down the street. Thank you Vanni!

The basics

Due to travel complications we were only able to stay 1 of our 4 nights booked at the property. The locations was great and close to many of the historical sites. The apartment itself was extremely basic and dated, especially the bed which had no extra sheets and was a bit stiff. The apartment was mostly clean but we noticed some cobwebs.

Very Nice Apartment in a Great Location

Located very close to Ponte Vecchio, several restaurants, and the historic district. We walked everywhere and really explored Florence! The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the neighborhood is a very quiet area. Our host was friendly and informative, and we had everything we needed.

Within walking distance to many sights

The room was nice, clean and our host Vanni was quite accommodating, as we arrived earlier than check-in. The 4-star is for the steep hill you walk up from the river and the significant steep interior steps to the room. Carrying lugguge up the steps was a challenge for two 60+ year old ladies - we still had a fabulous time.

A perfect location at the heart of Florence

The appartement is located south of the Arno river really close to Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Galleries. It's a rather quiet street although it takes only five minutes to walk to the historic centre or the Boboli Gardens. The flat is clean and not to big but two persons got enough space - and our host Vanni was very communicative and reliable. We would always recommend Gemma as a perfect stay for an urban vacation - Lutz and Susanne

Great little apartment

Our overall experience was great. The apartment was clean and had all the facilities for our longer stay. The apartment location is perfect for all central Florence offers. There is a reasonable climb up the road to the apartment steps. We did not find this an inconvenience but others may need to take this into consideration. We loved out stay.

Nice apartment

Nice layout. Clean. Very helpful host. We walked from the train station to the apartment and if we had a “do over” we would take a taxi. We are late 60’s and there are 50 stairs (which we knew in advance) from the street to the apartment. Host assisted in getting luggage from street to the apartment. After that, the stairs were not an issue. We did take a taxi back to the train station. Location was great- easy to walk everywhere. We would stay here again. The only thing we would change is the mattress, which really should be replaced.

Great Location

Location is very good! i walked everywhere. Only took a taxi from train station and to airport. Apartment is a good size for 1 or 2 people. It is a 3 floor walk up so make sure you are aware of this if you have heavy luggage. Shower is small, lighting can be improved but there is a new washing machine. Communication with Vanni couldn't be any better! He checked in, stopped by when needed and was very responsive whenever I had questions. There are doing construction on the street, but the apartment was very quiet.

Nice Location but Challenging for Anyone with Mobility Issues

The apartment was in an excellent location to walk to many of the sites in Florence. It would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues, as there is a relatively steep hill that needs to be climbed to get to the main door of building and then 3 flights of fairly steep stairs to get to the apartment. Vanni advised us to take a cab to the apartment so that we wouldn't have to drag our suitcases up this hill. There is a mosquito problem as well. If you open the windows that don't have screens, it lets in mosquitos that seem to congregate in the sleeping area. Vanni did warn us of that, and provided us with some plug in mosquito repellent (this worked if you don't mind breathing in the chemicals used to repeal the mosquitos while you are sleeping). The washing machine is a nice addition, however, our clothes didn't dry on the drying rack provided as it had rained and the air was humid.

Gemma - a “gem”

We had a lovely 9 night stay at “Gemma apartment” in Firenze. The apartment is located on “the other side of the river” near Ponte Vecchio, making it a quiet environment but still within easy access to all major attractions. The property manager has excellent communication skills, responding promptly to enquires. We self catered some of our meals in the small but functional kitchen; aided by the supermarket very close by. The apartment also has a washing machine - very useful after a few weeks of living out of a suitcase! From the apartment it was an easy stroll to the Duomo, David, and the Michelangelo Piazzale with its fabulous views of the city. We also enjoyed exploring Mercato Centrale (a 25 minute walk). If you are looking for a comfortable base, away from the noise of the city centre, we would definitely recommend this apartment.
