Alla behöver lite R & R då och då. Reef & Reel ger gott om vila och avkoppling. Stranden ligger bara 100 meter från ytterdörren genom strandpromenadens strandpromenad över gatan. Little Lagoon ligger bara 50 meter ut bakdörren, där du hittar din egen båtslipning. Denna fastighet erbjuder en fiskehamn, en privat sandstrand i lagunen och en liten gemensam pool. Detta hus har allt! Ligger 3. 7 miles från korsningen av Hwy 59 på West Beach Blvd, är du nära de stora restauranger och shopping, men ändå i en mycket lugn del av Gulf Shores.
Höger ut genom dörren till detta hus hittar du en fantastisk utsikt över Mexikanska golfen. Bakdäcken har en fantastisk utsikt över Little Lagoon. Denna lagun är känd för rekordfångster av prickad öring, röd fisk, flundra och stingrays. Vår familj favorit är att fånga blå krabba. Naturligtvis kan du städa din fisk på fiskstädningsstationen vid bryggan, som går ut i lagunen. Har du egen båt? Du kan starta din båt med Heron Landings båtramp och hålla den i vattnet under din vistelse med hjälp av den privata båtslipan. Du kan njuta av tillgång till gemenskapens simhall. Detta är inte en lägenhet ... det här är ditt eget hus. Det är mycket svårt att hitta ett 3 sovrum, 3 badhus med fantastisk utsikt över bukten, en lagun för fiske, en pool och mycket privatliv!
Hemmet sover 10 med 1 king size-säng, 2 queen size-sängar, en drottning bäddsoffa och 2 dubbla rulla sängar. Det finns också 3 fulla bad. Två sovrum och två badrum är på övervåningen och båda har enastående utsikt över bukten som öppnar på ett stort däck. Det tredje sovrummet och badet är nere med ett däck med utsikt över lagunen. Det finns bord och stolar på alla däck. Också hittar du på första våningen ett kök, matplats, vardagsrum och tvättstuga. Skjutdörrar tar dig från vardagsrummet till ett däck med utsikt över bukten. Vardagsrummet har gott om sittplatser. Köket är fullt utrustat med allt du behöver. Det finns en 47 "HD-TV i vardagsrummet och HD-TV i varje sovrum. Du hittar massor av spel, böcker, pussel och leksaker för alla att njuta av.

This is a wonderful house with the perfect location for a relaxing vacation . The ease of access to the beach or the lagoon was one of my favorite details. The house is well kept and has a stocked kitchen, including an airfryer. There are more than enough items in the storage unit for the beach. I loved that the rooms upstairs had private bathrooms. I will definitely check availability at this house when I return to Gulf Shores. Thank you for such amazing accommodations!

Excellent communication

I can’t say enough nice things about our hosts. Our wifi went out during our stay due to a storm. The hosts did everything possible to get it fixed and stayed in communication with us. We really enjoyed staying here!

We loved this house!

The house was perfect for our group of 6 adults but can sleep more. It had everything you need in the kitchen, plenty of bath towels and beach items. The deck was perfect for morning coffee and being outside with a view of the water! This is our 3rd time staying on west beach and we are already thinking of when we will be back to rent Reef and Reel. There isn’t one negative about our stay here!

Great location

We loved the location of this property. Very short walk to the beach even though it is across the street. Everything was as advertised and owner was very pleasant to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future.

Fun at the reef and reel!!

We felt lucky to find this place at the last minute for our spring break. Very satisfied with the home. We had everything we needed. For a good time. Loved gulf shores and the beach. Would rent this property again in the future.

Great

We had a wonderful time! The walk to the beach was easy and the beaches were over crowded. Having to dock in the back and small beach areas made for a good break and we got to adventure the bay side waters seeing crabs and fishing. The only negative was the room not being ready when we arrived at 4 but overall we had a great stay

Close to perfect

This property was perfect for what we needed for our travel party. It was cozy and had all of the amenities necessary to make our stay comfortable. We had one slight appliance issue, but after a quick message to the host, a repairman was out to fix it and we were good as new afterwards. The only thing negative about the stay was we wish the patio had better outdoor lighting for sitting on the patio after sunset. The washer was fun to work with as it tends to travel while washing, but still works and did what it needed to do. We would definitely choose this host and property again for our next trip. 10/10.

review of the southern cross

My family of 11 just returned from a weeks vacation at the Southern Cross. The house is spacious, even for 11 of us, we had plenty of room. The unobstructed view of the ocean is priceless. It is perfect for families, close to everything, but far enough away from the crowds. Our kids caught lots of crabs and even fed Lucky the heron at the lagoon. The beach is just a short walk across the street. The house was clean and well maintained. The front patio door was a challenge to open for our little ones, but its a heavy door. We would definitely recommend this property

Very nice, good locations/bonus access to Little Lagoon

Our family of 8 (age range 65yrs. to 11months) was very comfortable here. The entire property commons were always very clean and offered great beach access, nice pool area and dock with crabbing/fishing. Our particular unit had comfy beds and adequate kitchen conveniences. Every bedroom had it's own private bathroom, which was great. The large couch/sofa sleeper was not comfortable to sit or sleep on, even for our college age son, but we didn't try the single couch/sleeper. The microwave door needs repair, but does work. Much time was spent on the deck overlooking the beach, which has an unobstructed view of the beach -- HEAVEN!!! -- of an evening into the late hours, so a better patio set w/umbrella would have been nice, but there was plenty of seating and the latch locked gate to the stairs was a blessing for our 11m old. A rep from the cleaner crew stopped in upon our arrival to make sure things were to our liking and the owner contacted us within our first 24hrs to make sure everything was ok. An a/c serviceman was sent to double check the unit's working order -- in the hot afternoons with a lot of in/out activity the unit's temp would get up to 75/76, but always cooled down to the 72 set temp when sun went down and was always comfortable temps for sleeping -- and was very polite and pleasant to deal with. This area was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the commercial area of GS, but a quick drive to get to anything and has a jogging/walking/biking lane along both sides of the road. Overall, this is a great property in a great location that could use some repairs/updates, but was a memory maker for our first all family vacation and we would highly recommend visiting Southern Cross or renting from the owner's other two properties. Perfect Beach House for Our Family!

Reef and Reel could not have been more perfect for our first family vacation to the beach! The listing was so accurate. The house was so close to the beach and we loved watching the ocean from the balcony while we drank coffee. We even saw dolphins swimming one morning from the balcony - so cool! The house was clean and decorated so nicely with beachy decor. We especially loved the set up- grandparents stayed on the first level with their own bathroom, while my family of four stayed in the two bedrooms upstairs. Each room having its own bathroom was amazing and access to a washer and dryer was so convenient. The big comfy sectional was also so nice in the living room because of all 6 of us could be seated comfortably (for some reason, that tends to be lacking in other houses we’ve rented or looked at). My kids (2 and 6) loved all of the beach toys provided. It was also fun to take the kids to the pool or down to the lagoon in the evening after a long day at the beach. The owner was so responsive to any needs or questions. We couldn’t stop, and can’t stop talking about how much we loved staying at Reef and Reel and hope to come back again for our next beach vacation!

Wonderful Getaway Spot

WeWe loved our stay here - the boardwalk made access to the beach very easy and we also loved the fishing dock in the back of the property. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable and clean. There were lots of chairs and beach items in the storage area that we could use. We were about 3 miles from the main drag which meant the beach itself was not as crowded but it was still convenient to go to restaurants and shopping. We loved this place and I can't say enough good things. We hope to be back soon!

Fun Family Getaway

Our family of 4 met up with my sister’s family of three. Overall, the house was great. It was stocked with everything you need to get started on vacation. The location was perfect for beach going because we had private access; however, it is a little further down so you can’t really walk to anything. We enjoyed having the pool to relax in after the beach!

Our story began in 1984, when Tom’s family moved to Colorado Springs, where he became neighbors with John. Both just freshmen in high school, little did they know that would be the start of a friendship that would last a lifetime. After high school, both moved to different states, but always kept in touch. Eventually John and Jessica moved to Alabama to finish college along with Tom and Shannon and all four graduated from Auburn University in Montgomery. Through high school, moving to different states, starting college, meeting their future wives, and now raising children together, the friendship has survived 41 years. John and Jessica have made a career of caring for others. Both being nurses, they run their own health care company in Auburn and have 2 children, Kayla and Jabe. Kayla attended Troy University where she is majoried in nursing. She is currently is working at Baptist South in Montgomery, AL as a NICU nurse. Jabe just completed 2 years at Enterprise State Community College where he played baseball and will continue his baseball career next year at Troy University.
Tom is a successful salesman and Shannon is a retired elementary school teacher. They have one son who is an electrical project manager for Crosby Electric in Montgomery, AL. We have hopes of all retiring in the near future and enjoying a life at our “Happy Place”, the Beach.
