Charming, and full of character. Lovely!

Our first impressions of the house were that it needed a little updating, was quite dark and the pool was a little cloudy. As our time there progressed however we were struck by the charm of the house, it’s little quirks and the sheer size of the place! It was truly huge! So let’s look at the positives first. The kids loved the pool. It’s a really sunny setting, but there were ample parasols available for us adults to shelter under whilst reading and watching the kids have fun. The kitchen is well equipped, with plenty of plates and cutlery for everyone. A dishwasher and laundry room being a welcome addition. The beds were comfortable and the main bedroom has a little balcony which meant on the hotter nights the door could be left open for some needed ventilation! The bedrooms were large enough to accommodate us all comfortably. The addition of a shower room on the top floor provided more than enough room for us all to bathe or shower quickly. There are not many negatives. The pool was a little cloudy on our arrival and it wasn’t until the pool guy had visited a week after our holiday started that it improved greatly. Whether the pump house was functioning correctly, I don’t know. Certainly in our last few days we noticed the pump running, when during our first week it had not, and the water was crystal clear. . It didn’t stop us enjoying it and I’m sure it is a one off. And, that’s it! Nothing else to moan about! For me, that’s a first! The owner communicated with us regularly, in English, which was a great help and I got the impression he would bend over backwards to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We had a lovely, comfortable 11 nights here and would recommend it without hesitation. The location is handy for Fontainebleau and Paris, with the station at Avon less than 10 minutes drive. It’s pretty quiet. We walked to the local village, which took around 15 minutes, but I’d recommend driving to Avon for supermarkets and other necessities. In summary, it’s a lovely, comfortable house, in a quiet area, with good facilities and handy for day trips into Paris! Highly recommended.

Tolles Haus mit viel Potenzial

Das Objekt hat einen tollen Charme und einen wunderschönen Garten, den wir aufgrund des Wetters teilweise nicht nutzen konnten. Im Inneren ist das Haus auch urgemütlich und schön. Für 6 Personen könnte ein Sofa mehr da sein und an einigen Stellen ist noch ein bisschen Optimierungspotenzial (Duschwanne). Alles in allem aber ein sehr schönes Haus!

Vakantie in Chailly en biere

At arrival the first thing that surprised us, was that the house was even nicer and more spacious than we expected from the pictures on internet. We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house which had everything we needed. We enjoyed the large garden with swimming pool and the BBQ. Some of the kitchen stuff was not working well, but there were enough alternatives. The owner was not present but easy to contact via telephone or Whatsapp and allways responded fast to questions. For people who want to find a quit place in nature nearby Paris, we recommend this house.

Agréable séjour dans une maison propre et au calme

Nous avons passé un délicieux moment dans cette maison propre et confortable. La literie est excellente et le linge fourni fleure bon le propre. Amoureux de nature et passionnés d'histoire nous avons beaucoup apprécié nos longues promenades en forêt qui est toute proche et nos différentes visites (Barbizon, Fontainebleau, vaux le vicomte....) Enfin merci au propriétaire pour sa gentillesse.

House in Fontainebleau area

Beautiful spacious house with lovely garden and clean and equipped swimming pool. At the peak temperatures the house was relatively cool. We enjoyed the forests, Seine and cultures.

Super Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter, sehr schönes Haus in netter Umgebung zum Wandern, Biken, oder Klettern. Die Kinder haben den Pool geliebt. Gerne wieder.

excellent break away from it all

Lovely house with everything you could wish for an away from it all break. Boulangerie and little shop (Proxi) just a gentle 15 minute walk away. The train from Melun gets you into Paris (gare de Lyon) in just 30 minutes. The forest and chateau de Fountainebleau are minutes away by car. It was the best of all worlds. Highly recommended.

It was a lovely stay, the house is really nice and cozy, and quite a comfort to spend some time away from the city. The nature close by is really nice to go for out for walks. And the hosts are quite nice and very solicitous. Would definitely recommend it

Amazing house

This house is very beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. You will find everything that you need in. The nature around is amazing and we had a wonderful time in this place. the owners were very friendly. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful House, Peaceful Surroundings, Excellent

Clean, cosy and spacious house with a lovely garden. Located in a quiet village close to many attractions including Fontainebleau town and forest, Barbizon village and Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte. Also within reach of Paris by car or by train from local towns. Local shops are close by in Chailly-en-Bière and a supermarket and other larger shops are a short drive away. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the many walking and cycling opportunities in the area, especially around Fontainebleau forest. Kids will love playing in the garden and pool. Highly recommended !

Séjour PARFAIT!

Nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous dans une ambiance cosy et chaleureuse. La maison est vraiment des plus agréable et les propriétaires sont très accueillants et arrangeants!
