We had a wonderful time at the villa! The property is beautiful, clean, and inviting. Little details were covered—beach towels, chairs, and a warm welcome awaited us. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen well appointed. The property is a short walk to downtown Cruz Bay, which we found very helpful considering parking in town can be tight. Our hosts were lovely and we appreciated the communication and hospitality!

This unit was perfect for us! It was so nice, very spacious with all the needed amenities. So close to Cruz Bay for shopping, eating and taxis. Having some initial snacks provided was very nice and appreciated! The only thing that was a little disappointing was the view from the outdoor seating area, but we didn’t spend a lot of time at the unit, so it was fine.

We had an awesome stay!! Comfortable for 4 people. Fully stocked kitchen and parking right out front. Luciah was awesome and met us at the jeep rental place to guide us back to the house and give us a tour of the place! Would definitely stay again! We loved seeing all the cats, chickens, and peacocks walking around outside everyday too!

We were very please with our stay. The place had plenty of room for four of us to move around and a fully stocked kitchen. We were able to visit 4 beaches. It was close to all the shops and restaurants in Cruz Bay. It also had a generator that worked! The host met us at the car ferry, then guided us to our house. We would stay there again.

Check in and check out was very good. The property was clean and very convenient location to Cruz Bay. We liked the layout and parking. With just a few minor improvements it could be a five star rating.

Lucian was excellent! She meet us at the ferry and brought us to the villa. Told us all the good spots in town. Responded fast with any questions we had. I would stay here again

Luciah truly got our first trip to St. John off to an amazing start. She went out of her way to share thoughtful tips and recommendations, and she’s such a lovely soul — a perfect representation of the island’s welcoming vibes. The villa is in a fantastic location, within easy walking distance to the main town center, with beautiful views all around. The bed was very comfortable and the property was clean and well maintained. We also appreciated having snorkeling gear and beach chairs available to use. As a bonus, we loved seeing the cats lounging outside the doorstep!

Amazing Villa , Great Location

The Villa was perfect. Very clean, well equipped kitchen, high ceilings, very comfortable beds, and an amazing pool with an ocean view. The Villa was also within easy walking distance to downtown Cruz Bay for coffee and for dinners each evening. Perfect location, and Luciah, the Host, was the best. Great vacation.

St John’s loft w/pool

Booked our stay a few days before our arrival. The Host was very informative and our greeter Linda was very friendly upon arrival. Walkability was awesome! Rental was furnished with everything you’d need for a nice week. Pool was a definite plus!

Amazing stay!

This property is a hidden gem! Check in was a breeze with the property manager meeting us at the car ferry. The place is spacious and we loved the colonial caribbean feel! Easy walk to town but private feel on a quiet street and felt like we had the pool to ourselves. The only issue is that our mother in law has limited mobility so had a challenge with all the stairs and hills but we made it work! Would come here to stay again for sure!

Gorgeous spacious house on the hill

Luciah the property manager is wonderful. The house was gorgeous and spacious. The location was great - close to town with a nice sized hill to climb each way. The hills helped us with PT after knee surgeries ha ha. I wish the windows could be opened at night for this time of year, but other than that it was perfect.

It was amazing!! Very walkable to town for 2 of us but the other 3 weren’t in shape enough to wake up the hill. Restaurants were all good! The villa itself was very nice we just didn’t realize we were sharing the pool with 4 other villas

Perfection

Loved the feel and the convenience of this location. It was an adult trip with only one couple so this place worked well. The 3 twin beds upstairs are open to the house being a loft. We enjoyed the loft space though but didn't require too much privacy. AC was great upstairs and down. it was my 4th time on the island and never stayed downtown Cruz Bay, it was definitely my favorite. It was definitely a place I would book again.

Short walk to everything

We loved this home and the area. It was a short walk to town which has restaurants, shops and taxis to beaches. We were gonna rent a car but taxis took us to great beaches: Trunk Bay, Cinnamon and Openheimer, to name a few. The house was very clean, quite peaceful. It offered beach chairs, floats, snorkeling gear. It was well stocked. The front porch was my favorite. The pool was clean and refreshing. I would definitely recommend this property and be back again.

Hostess with the Mostess

Our experience at Cielo Mar started with the fabulous contact, Luciah, on St.John who made us feel so at home. She even had drinks and snacks at the house upon our arrival! She was easy to communicate with and so attentive in responding to any questions we had during our whole stay. The property itself was exactly as pictured and did not disappoint. It is a beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood and so close to the center of town it made not having a car no problem. The property was outfitted with all of the amenities to sleep well, cook dinner, hang on the deck, sit by the pool or go to the beach! We would stay again and you should give it a try!!

Charming!

We visited this beautiful property for our daughters senior year spring break and it was Amazing!!! The property is fabulous, super clean, a great balcony for morning coffee or evening cocktails, and so magical when we found a few treats in the fridge including fresh flowers…what a great surprise! Perfect for a group of four with an incredible pool and walkable to Cruz Bay. Wish we’d found the white stairs past the pool sooner, great shortcut (when the gate is unlocked) for an easy downhill walk to Cruz Bay. To quote our daughters 10 out of 10, the Moms agree!!! We both hope to visit again one day and enjoy this charming home with our families! Thank you for such a special spring break!

Best villa

This villa was perfect if you are looking to stay in Cruz Bay. We were able to walk around and restaurants were also within walking distance. For those who don’t mind a short hike both Solomon and Honeymoon beaches can be reached by a hiking trail and takes about 30 minutes. The villa has everything you need for a comfortable stay after exploring the island. We used the taxis for the first 3 days and then rented a jeep for the last 4 days so we could check out the whole island and also drive to the other beaches nearby. It also allowed us to purchase water and food at the starfish market but be prepared for much higher prices than you may be used to. It was still better because we could cook breakfast and pack lunches and snacks for the day.

Beautiful place but...

Of course there are mosquitoes on Caribbean islands. The question is whether the property owner has done enough to control them. The answer for this property is no. We did all we could, such as by keeping windows and doors closed, running the 2 supplied bug zappers, applying bug spray to ourselves and the interior, yet we were still besieged day and night by mosquitoes. We literally had to stay on the go, away from what was otherwise a beautiful cottage, because of this issue. The mosquitoes appear to breed in the a/c vents but there is no way to isolate in any rooms since the doors have louvers.. Even if this is a seasonal problem, it should be addressed, not ignored. At a minimum, the owner could provide mosquito nets for sleeping. Owner needs to figure out a solution to this problem.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Mosquitoes and No-seeums are often found later in the day at beaches, in the evening during sunset, or late night on the way home from a dinner. In an effort to make our guest comfortable and give them the best possible experience, the management company of the villa has a 3-point check system in place. The villa is cleaned and prepared by our highly skilled and thorough housekeeping staff, our Maintenance team checks for any issues, (mosquitoes too) and our greeter (when requested) will meet the guests from the ferry and take them to the unit. I can assure you that during those checks our team is extremely aware and on the lookout for mosquitoes. With regard to the air conditioning units, we spoke with our HVAC specialist on St. John and were assured there were no way for mosquitoes to be in the units as the units are running continuously with proper drainage and airflow. The units are regularly cleaned and serviced too. We will be having our team head back to the villa to reassess the situation and double check. Thank you for staying at Villa Cielo Mar. Great location/ limited privacy

We were greeted so graciously at the fer ry and walked to our Jeep rental location. We then waited until check in time, then waited an hour more for housekeeping to finish and leave. We were left with beautiful fresh flowers, a few beverages, some fruit, cheese and crackers, which was unexpected and appreciated. Thouse is in a great location, central to town, yet tucked into a neighborhood. The location was perfect minus privacy. The light from all the windows is great in the light of day, but many had no shades nor curtains to draw at night. Windows gave high visibility to kitchen/dr/lr and bathroom. Only Master br was private. There were many, many great points and one huge drawback for us. The master states there is a queen bed, but it was actually a king that was unsleepable. First night was awful. It is hard, like a box spring and has distinct high and low dips. Second night, we slept across the bed, each tucked into one of the dips, hoping to avoid the them cutting into us as they did the night before. It wasn’t much better. Third night, we slept in indivual single beds upstairs. They were soft, but not stable, they dip and move when you turn. Probably much better for children. I would stay here again and again if there was a better bed. I was exhausted by the end of our 5 night stay- the bed is the main reason this location does not get a 5 star review.

We stayed here for my daughter's Sr. trip, and it was SO AMAZING & PERFECT for our family of 5. The loft was perfect for our kids. There was lots of space for them to hang out and chill. Each one had their own bed and there was a bathroom upstairs with a shower. They also had a nice little balcony where they could hang out. Location was fantastic and about a 10 min walk to Cruz Bay. The girls were able to walk to town to go shopping and eat. Walking down to Cruz Bay wasn't bad, but the walk back is all up hill and exhausting. It was good exercise though. The pool was amazing and we were usually the only ones out there. I think the power went out a couple of times, but we had a backup generator so no issues for us. Our host Luciah was great and very responsive. The sounds of St. John are amazing. Kinda sounds like you are in the jungle. So, fun trying to figure out what's making the noise. There were lots of iguanas on the property, but they were chill and just did their thing. You are so close to all of the beaches, and the drive is very scenic and beautiful. We absolutely love St. John and can't wait to come back! 10 out of 10 we would stay here again!!!

This was an amazing villa! Everything clean and well appointed. Communication was great and the location was perfect! Within walking distance to taxis, local shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!
