Condo with a great view

The condo itself is spacious with a great view. The problem we experienced is the noise from above. Constant walking back and forth day and night it seemed. Main bedroom has no lamp by bedside. The kitchen is not greatly stocked if you like to cook. One pan that works on a new top that needs specialized pans. One wine glass...Seriously? Just sorta oddly stocked. Beds were comfortable. Not worth the doubled charge for a Fall weekend. I guess you are totally paying for the view which is great if you dont mind people walking past you day and night as you are right on the sidewalk.

Great Location, but....

First, the location of the condo couldn't be any better, walking distance all restaurants, shopping, water activities, etc... The condo is very nice looking but lacks a lot. First, the beds are very uncomfortable. When we arrived the beds weren't even made, sheets were waiting, but who wants to make beds when you arrive on vacation? The furniture is VERY uncomfortable, couches and chairs look nice but are awful to sit on. Windows were filthy, full of fingerprints, dirt and smudges. The last thing I wanted to do when I tried to bake a dish was clean the oven, but there was so much baked on grime I had no choice, all it did was smoke otherwise! The unit is very sparsely appointed. No nightstands in all the bedrooms, no dressers or storage of any kind. One of the bedrooms doesn't even have a closet. I would suggest the owner hire a new cleaning service as well as invests in better furnishings.

Great location

Upon arriving my husband and I had difficulty operating the key pad - it would not unlock and had to call the property manager for a key. They were very responsive and stopped by within a half hour. The house was moderately clean. Fridge had streaks and kitchen cabinet handles felt like they needed a good wiping. Couch looked like it could have used a good vacuuming and windows looked like there was dog smudges on them. All other cleaning was fine. The house is extremely sparse on decorations. No lamps in any bedroom or pictures on the walls, no dressers in the bedrooms just a closet. Kitchen had pots and pans but not much else. Corkscrew didn’t work great. TV in main room was difficult to turn on at first and master bedroom TV had no batteries in the remote. Once we stole batteries from another remote, we found the resolution on the tv isn’t right and it cuts part of the picture off. The contract states that you need to do all dishes and put away, take all trash out to dumpster, and wash and dry all towels. Who wants to do this while on vacation? I don’t mind running the dishwasher but the rest should be included in the cleaning fee. It would also be nice if the management company left a day or two worth of laundry detergent and/or dishwashing detergent to get you started. Most vrbo’s leave that and some hotel shampoo/conditioner/soap and don’t require the extra cleaning. Additionally the walls are thin. If you are a light sleeper you may have a hard time. We could hear our upstairs neighbors walking around, partying on their deck (although they weren’t being loud) and water running. I woke up at 3:30 thinking water was leaking but found it was inside the walls - not sure if water softener or what. Could hear lots of heavy equipment noise starting at 6 am. Having said all that, the condo is new and pretty and in a great location. While all the aforementioned things are small, they added up to being pretty annoying. Overall, the condo seems like an incomplete thought. The welcome book states to not move the furniture. While we did not do this, I can understand why someone would. Only two people can comfortably watch tv sitting in the two chairs while those on the couch need to turn their head 90 degrees to see it. Not a great set up for a large family. Not sure we’d rent again.

Best Spot in Door County

I have stayed here multiple times. The view itself is spectacular! Convient location on first floor. Walking distance to everything in Sister Bay and everything else is just a short 10minute drive. Will continue to stay here!
