Vårt byhem ligger ett stenkast från Penobscot Bay. Det är perfekt för två par. Du kan hälla ditt kaffe på morgonen och vandra ner för att se de höga fartygen segla bort och njuta av scener med aktivt hamnliv. Gå sedan förbi vårt 1920-talsbibliotek och ta en promenad ner Main Street för att njuta av små lokala butiker och kaféer som är en del av stadens tyg.

Välkommen till vårt hem med en gourmet, fullt utrustat kök, vardagsrum och ett vackert vardagsrum. Det finns en mästare, med säng och eget badrum, gästrum med en drottning och intilliggande badrum, båda på andra våningen. Den tredje våningen är en svit med ett sovrum med drottning, badkar och ett vackert vardagsrum med ett fönster med utsikt över Mt. Beatty. Det totala utrymmet ger avskildhet men vackra gemensamma rum för upp till 6 gäster.

Detta liv i Camden ligger bara några stunder från vår veranda. Husets charm är dess närhet till allt och ändå har en lugn charm och avskildhet inte lätt att hitta. Vi valde Camden för vårt hem när vi hittade fyra fungerande bokaffärer, vackra antikaffärer och familjeägda lokala restauranger. Vi ville kunna gå till livsmedelsbutiken och leva i flera dagar utan att komma in i bilen. Varje säsong är magisk: sommarens långa kvällar är härlig, makalös höstfärg, snö faller för helgdagarna och vårens blommor. Vårt hem i Camden har varit en tillflyktsort för vår familj i många år och vi vill gärna dela det med dig. Under högsäsongen är vi glada att hyra till dig på lördag till lördag.

Completely Charmed

We felt like we stepped into Cabot Cove to stay with our aunt Jessica. The home is cozy with character, art and well cared for garden. We had everything we needed to make ourselves at home, including coffee and wine waiting for us by our host. The host checked in on us an appropriate amount of time and

Fabulous vacation spot! Quick walk to town.

Wow! Such a fun, cute, clean and pretty house! Everything was as described. 3 stories. Great kitchen! Parking on street in front. Cute front porch and patio. Most important to us, we loved our ~2 block walk to town, shops, restaurants and the harbor. It’s ALL right there! We could have simply stayed in Camden and it would have been a wonderful trip meeting all our expectations. But we chose to explore a little more of Maine and it was an easy car trip to Acadia. My grown son loved his 3rd story bedroom. We all appreciated the clean updated bathrooms. It was a truly comfortable stay that felt a lot like visiting friends. It was great to meet Mary, too.

Perfect Camden Village home

I loved my stay on Mountain Street. The house is full of antiques, books and art. So much to look at! It was so very welcoming and had everything I need to make my stay comfortable. The location in town is so perfect with plenty of parking. And although you are in the heart of the village the gardens give you a sense of peace Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked and I enjoyed my evening lass of wine on the patio. The owners are lovely. I will definitely come back.

“Workation” on Camden

Dave and Mary were excellent hosts! The property is in a great location and within walking distance to almost everything. The house is charming and equipped with all necessities. Dave went above and beyond in helping us find just the right activities to do in and around Camden and he suggested outstanding places to eat! Highly recommend this VRBO!

Great location

Camden is a favorite destination for us - and as we had rented this property years ago - knew the proximity to town was terrific. We enjoyed being close to the harbor - however the property needs maintenance and to be professionally cleaned on a much more regular basis to provide the best vacation experience.

Beautiful house and amazing location!

We enjoyed our stay immensely! The house was comfortable and you could feel the history. The location was amazing. Easy walk into town that help avoid any traffic or parking issues. Mary and Dave were awesome. Dave stopped by to quickly resolve a quick issue and enjoyed talking to him about the history of the house and the amazing things to do around Maine. A couple things I always like to know. 1. The beds are comfortable but on the firmer side 2. The bedrooms do get lots of light in the morning especially the room on the 3rd floor. We did not mind but I know people who like it dark! Highly recommend this place. The house is great, location it perfect (central too so many things and not as busy as a town as others. Not as touristy feeling either which we really liked), great restaurants and the hosts were so helpful!

We are so appreciative that Mary & Dave allowed us to stay in their lovely home. It is filled with art objects from their overseas travels. The location was beyond; it’s just minutes to all the restaurants, shops, the harbor, etc. Mary & Dave went above and beyond in every way. This was my first time in Camden and one of the most relaxing vacations ever. While we loved their home, if you are a minimalist please note that there are a lot of objects, furnishings, and art and you might not love that, but if Maximalism doesn’t bother you, this is an absolute gem and the perfect place to stay in Camden.

Like staying at your favorite aunt’s house in the most perfect Maine village

Our two week stay was a delight. The house is perfectly located - many days we did not use the car. Walked to shops and restaurants and the harbor every day. The house is as pictured - filled with books and art from floor to ceiling. We especially enjoyed the roomy kitchen with its nice appliances. The fireplace made things especially cozy on cold days, but it was not in the sitting room so we couldn’t fully enjoy. Dave and Mary are lovely people and full of great suggestions. The only “unexpected” was the fact that the owners stayed in the basement apartment during our stay. It made me very self-conscious of our conversations/TV/footsteps (sound really carried in this home). I do think that renters should simply be aware of this fact when booking and I don’t recall reading this in the listing. We look forward to returning to the most charming village on the Maine coast!

Walk to town!

My friend and I loved the location of the charming Victorian home in Camden. Our hosts were helpful and attentive. Be aware if you will be using both bedrooms as we did, both are located upstairs, and one requires two sets of stairs. It was not a problem for us, but might be for some. Overall, a lovely, art-filled home in beautiful Camden, Maine.

Perfect location

Historic home in a great location. Easy walk to harbor and shops. Our only complaint would be noisy a/c and a bit musty smelling from large collections of books. Other than that overall lovely property.

Perfect accommodations for a Camden, Maine visit

All we could say is “WOW”! This house is amazing from every aspect! First, Mary and Dave were very responsive and answered all of our questions. The house has beautiful art (by Dave!) , beautiful antiques, stained glass windows and a very quaint porch with rocking chairs. There is also a very quaint patio for dining - we did not get to use because of the rain. We did not cook any of our meals, but if we had, the kitchen is very well stocked. From a location standpoint, it is perfect. The downtown area of Camden is only a short walk away. The downtown area has many great shops, dining options and a grocery store. You can literally park your car and not get in it again until you leave. The trailhead for Mt. Battie is located just behind the house. The guys hiked this trial one morning and really enjoyed it. My friend and I just decided to lounge at the house and enjoy a quiet morning. The was the perfect lodging for 4 great friends from South Carolina taking a Maine vacation.

Summer 2022

This was a lovely week. Right away my family felt comfortable in this home. My son, in his 20’s enjoyed walking into town and planting himself at a picnic table with views of the harbor to do some early morning studying. My daughter and I loved our morning walks to Zoot for coffee. She also hiked Mt Battie every morning. The house is close to everything! We packed it in with dinner at Primo ( very good-book early) high end restaurant and worth every penny. We took a ferry from Rockland to Turner Farm on Northhaven Island-an amazing experience which we will make an annual event. We packed a lunch and rented a boat for half day on Megunticook Lake. We had several dinners at the house for our Maine family-13 of us! The kitchen is well appointed and my daughter, a chef agrees. This beautiful home made the week that much more enjoyable! Thank you Mary and Dave!

good walking opportunities

We walked into nearby Camden a couple of times every day, mostly for meals, but also to purchase grocery items from the small but well-stocked corner grocery store. The harbor views from town were delightful, and we did spend an afternoon swimming at Lake Megunticook a couple of miles up the road. It was a lovely week.

Good Location

The property is well located, within easy walking distance to town and to the trail that leads up to Mount Battie. Plenty of on street parking in front of the house. With the windows open we definitely noticed the traffic noise. On the one warm evening we turned on the AC unit in the 2nd floor bedroom, it effectively cooled down the room but was loud. Every room is full of furniture. I found only one area where I could comfortably roll out my yoga mat. My son enjoyed staying on the third floor and was delighted to wake up to the colored light streaming through the stain glass skylights. Owners occupy the lower basement level that has a separate entrance.

Inspired Setting

The front porch of The Yellow House is the perfect spot to take in the fresh air and breeze of a Camden Summer. The house is filled with art, antiques and chatacter. Lovely Camden Harbor Home

This charming home, located in the heart of one of Maine's most picturesque villages, offers visitors a very comfortable and relaxing experience. Tastefully decorated, each beautiful room is appointed with all proper necessities for a carefree cozy stay. A 3-minute walk brings you to wonderful restaurants, boutique shops, galleries, and a lively harbor scene featuring Maine's finest schooners. The home is more charming than it looks on line. We had everything we needed, hosts were available for questions, tips, etc. almost immediately and the location can’t be beat. You won’t go wrong choosing this property.

There is no place in all the world, like Camden. The village life, the sea, and the mountains offer a beautiful backdrop to The Screen Door Music Festival in August and the CIFF documentary film festival. in September The area never fails to enchant our visitors.

There are long walks on country lanes, canoeing, kayaking, and a walk from our front door.

Our home is filled with Dave's watercolors and oils, antiques we have collected in Europe and Asia. Though it is only 2300 sq feet, there are private places to get comfortable for a read or a chat. Here is a recent review from our guests:

Immerse yourself in art and literature while enjoying the best Maine has to offer. Day trips to Rockport, Belfast, Bar Harbor for shopping, antiquing, and ,of course, lobster! Enjoy the forest and the ocean at Acadia National Park where you can hike or just soak in the sun and waves. Don't forget the pop-overs at Jordon Pond Lodge. Be sure to stop and see the views from the Penobscot Bridge tower. Weather keeping you inside...no worries. This wonderful house is full of artwork (most by the owner!) to ponder and books in every nook and corner. Every need is covered and the rooms are spectacular. We stayed in the "attic" room with stained glass windows above the bed and the whole bathroom is a shower! We ate in Bar Harbor, Lincolnville, and Camden and every meal was excellent with great service. The home is a very short walk from downtown Camden so you are just minutes from shopping and dining. We also got to enjoy a cruise on the schooner "Appledore"...a great adventure. Mary and Dave are great hosts and answered all our questions right away. We highly recommend this home for your get away, especially for adults or families with older kids.

We are within walking distance of all that Camden offers. The house is our sanctuary with three distinct living areas on three floors.

The public space on the first floor provides a large, gourmet kitchen with room for our family and friends to gather, visit, and cook. My husband has hand-painted a mural in the dining room that creates a sense of peace and calm. The transition from our cozy living room features an archway framed with 18th Chinese panels reminds us of wonderful travel in Taiwan and China.

The living room is intimate and highlighted by stained glass windows and a cozy gas fireplace surrounded by bookcases. The second floor is a personal space with one large bedroom and one beautifully remodeled bathroom.

The second floor features a large bedroom with an adjacent shower bathroom.

The third floor is an open suite with a sitting room, bedroom, and bathroom. The best views are from this sitting room! This is completely private, set off from the rest of the house.

Our home is perfect for one or two couples, who love to travel together. There is plenty of room to cook, relax, read, and visit and...retreat.
