Soliga, rymliga vardagsrum anpassade för familjen kul tid. Fullt utrustat kök passar för alla gourmetmatlagningar. Alla rum har vacker utsikt, fjädrar madrass toppers, lyxiga sängkläder och platt-TV med över 200 kanaler att njuta av. Snabb Internet WiFi är tillgänglig hela!

Casa del Tren, det spanska namnet på tåghuset, är medvetet namngivet på grund av dess unika läge. Safety Harbor är en gammal järnvägsstad och som sådan gränsar en avlägsen ände av Casa del Tren yard av järnvägen.

Ja, ett tåg kommer nu och då, vanligtvis 6 till 8 bilar, som kommer och går på mindre än en minut. Du kan stanna i dagar och aldrig se eller höra ett enda tåg. Our stay was perfect!

John and Ellen's place worked out perfectly. The place was excellent, Safety Harbor was amazing and ALL of John's restaurant recommendations were great. We would definitely stay again.

Fun in Safety Harbor

Great place to stay in Safety Harbor. Quiet neighborhood, great parking and outside space. Close to shopping and eating places, very walkable. Will definitely stay again.

Five star host

This cottage was an excellent place to stay. We enjoyed the coffee, snacks and wine and grilled fish from the seafood market for dinner one night. We walked into town every day and thought Safety Harbor was lovely and had a laid back vibe. Farmers market on Sunday was fun!

good fit for woman and dog-but lots more room

Well equipped kitchen. It had everything I needed with a courtyard and adjacent yard for the dog. Many restaurants, bars, and a beach within walking distance.

Holiday Visit

We had a lovely stay at Casa del Tren over the holiday. The home was comfortable and well-appointed with everything you need. It was very near to town, yet in a quiet and peaceful location. The fenced-in and well lit patio was great for our family and the hosts were very communicative and accommodating.

Wonderful Stay!

John and Ellen are FANTASTIC hosts! They truly care about their guests, pay attention to every detail to ensure comfort, and are readily available to answer any questions and help in any way. And Casa del Tren is a wonderful home nestled in a quiet area and so close to everything! My husband and I (and our sweet dog) had a marvelous time! We will definitely be back and have recommended their homes to all of our friends and family :-)

Great house close to everything.

The house was great, it was cute, very clean and had everything we needed. The back patio was wonderful to sit outside in the evening. It was close to restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay again!

What an incredible vacation...we enjoyed our stay immensely! The home is quant and comfortable. We were close to downtown safety harbor. Dead end street made it very quiet. Thanks John for everything!

Life in Safety Harbor

I loved the area, lots of places to walk and visit, Folly Farms is a fun place. Many good eating place in SH and out on 19. Shopping was easy with several Publix nearby. Lovely boardwalks along Tampa bay with the Pelicans diving into the water for fish. Weather was good too. Loved the small town atmosphere and slow living.

Great house and location

My experience renting this property is very positive. Cleanliness deserves a 10 on a 1-5 scale. Location was only two block from Main Street. I would definitely rent this property again!!

Gracious thoughtful hosts

This is a lovely cottage, very comfortable, very clean. John and Ellen, the hosts, left snacks and bottled wine as welcome gifts. John was readily available for questions. the property is on a deadend street, the neighborhood is lovely for walks, just a few blocks to the charming town of Safety Harbor, quite close to Phillipe Park. Just a lovely place to stay.

Great location

Really loved the city and location. Favorite restaurants were Barfly and Gigglewaters for movie and dinner. Discovered Woodys seafood in palmetto and farmers market - detwilers. Owners were always available to us. Home was very clean.

Unique & adorable property in Safety Harbor

Our stay at Casa del Tren was wonderful! We love the fun vibe of Safety Harbor-and the location of this property is perfect-so close to downtown! The house is clean, very nicely decorated, and had absolutely everything that we needed. John was so responsive to any questions that we had or anything at all that we needed. We wouldn’t hesitate to rent from him again, and in fact have already done that!

All we could ask for!

Everything is well thought out at Casa del Tren. All we could need in the kitchen, laundry and bathrooms are provided. It’s very close to Main Street, we walked the town! The outdoor lights above the patio are so festive and plenty of natural light inside. It’s an absolute treasure!

Very Thoughtful Owners

This house in Safety Harbor is a wonderful place to stay. The owners Have gone out of their way to make sure the house is comfortable for guests. We appreciated the cleanliness and the thoughtful touches. John, the owner, is extremely nice. The house is also well located with fun restaurants nearby. Don’t hesitate on this one.

Lovely Home

The house looked exactly as it does online. It's clean and bright and beautiful. The location was 25 minutes from Clearwater Beach and 25 minutes from the University of Tampa. It was perfect for us. The owner goes out of the way to make sure your stay is perfect. Highly recommend.

A+ property and hosts - as advertised!

We loved Casa del Tren. Perfect location and the property was as advertised. Had all of the amenities and extras (two blow dryers, two patio tables, two umbrellas, etc.) and they were kind enough to have the AC running before we checked it (which is not always the case). Was very clean and neighborhood was safe and quiet. Also, very walkable (with 10 restaurants within a few blocks). John and Ellen were great hosts and provided excellent recommendations. Our family had a great trip to the Tampa / St. Pete area and this property was a large part of it.

Great Stay in Safety Harbor

We very much enjoyed this property. The owner communicated with us early on in the process and was very available if we needed him. We didn't though, the house had practically everything we needed. I would recommend a couple of "beach" towels because when you're traveling with a kid, the last thing you have space for is a towel ;) We left a couple behind that hopefully will be useful. I didn't get a chance to log the trains in the house book, there were only a few during our week long stay. One night there was a couple back to back, pretty loud but our toddler loved it and we went right back to sleep. We would totally stay here again. It's so great to find a VRBO like this where you know the owner is easy to get a hold of and pays so much attention to detail :)

I grew up on a farm south of Nashville TN. I am currently managing IT in a software company that also has an office in the Tampa Bay Area. When I am not pounding on the keyboard, I involve myself in renovating houses, gardening, cooking, and entertaining friends and family.
My wife Ellen was born in China, a true city girl, her interests are more in art & Electrical Engineering. She came to the states to research high-voltage transmission, but I really think she came here to find me and my secret BBQ recipes ☺
We love to travel together and everywhere we go we try to stay away from hotels, staying with locals is way more fun. We also share a common passion to renovate and revive interesting older homes.
Ellen and I completely fell in love with Safety Harbor upon our very first visit. Known as the Hidden Gem of Tampa Bay, Safety Harbor is voted No. 1 of the Most Charming small cities in Florida. It offers amazing natural beauty as well as award-winning restaurants, pubs, and shops as well as tons of unique festivities. Best of all, the locals are simply the friendliest people we have ever met.
We have since renovated 4 vacation homes in Safety Harbor. Casa del Tren is one of the most FUN ones! It is dearly loved by us and our guests because of its unique Fun factor and Location.

Fun Facts that You have to know :)
Casa del Tren, the Spanish name for the Train House, is fondly named because of its unique location. Safety Harbor is an old railroad town and as such, one remote end of Casa del Tren's yard is bordered by the railway.
Yes, a train does come by every now and then, typically 6 to 8 cars, that come and go in less than a minute. You may stay for days and never see or hear a single train. But if you are blessed with good luck and hear one passing by, would you please log it down and share it with us in the guest book? :)
