Loved it. It was a perfect setup for our family getaway and spending a weekend with my brother who is in a wheeelchair. Love that the ramp up to the door was ada compliant…. Only complaint was that the doorways was too small to accommodate his wheelchair but it all worked out :)

Barefoot Cottage was a charming and spacious home to enjoy during our stay at Taylorsville Lake. Community pool was a 5 minute walk. The marina was a 2 minute drive. While the online description of the home indicated 3 showers, there were only 2, however the bathrooms were able to meet our needs for 5 adults and 2 children. I would recommend an umbrella or shade sail for the back deck to enjoy the outdoors. Fully functional and furnished, I would recommend Barefoot Cottage for a comfortable and enjoyable visit to the quiet and serene Edgewater Resort at TaylorsvilleLake.

Spacious , clean, & very comfortable

Barefoot Cottage was just a great stay. Location, ease of entry, neighborhood, amenities - all first rate. The hot tub was really a bonus. Would definitely recommend.

Property was well kept and as advertised. Some well placed “Quick Start” cards could help. Things like the TVs, hot tubs, ice makers, fire features and other quirky things. We only had one working shower in the guest master. It was reported and addressed very quickly with satisfactory results. Would love to organize an entire family reunion week for multiple clans. I would suggest a dock to fish from and possibility of tent or lawn weddings. Possibly build some intimate one bedroom cottages, and explore the possibility of treehouses for that hidden from the road, but seen from the lake. I have many promotional ideas if you would like to discuss.

Fun for all ages

We visited with our 16 year olds & parents to Barefoot Cottage for a week in the spring. Perfect location for trips to Louisville & Lexington for adventures with the kids, and local distilleries for grown-up fun. The pool was not open yet due to season, but plenty of green space and close proximity to the state park for outdoor activities. The house was clean & perfect space for us - Loved our visit!

Ark & Bourbon!

Great central location to get to many bourbon distilleries and a quick drive to the Ark Experience. The hob tub was a great way to relax each night after exploring Kentucky for the day. I would highly recommend staying here and we wouldn't hesitate staying here again!

Where’s the lake?

Cute, clean and comfortable cabin! Sadly there is absolutely no view of the lake and no bank access to the lake on the entire Edgewater property-very disappointed about that.

Bourbon Trail Adventure

6 of us stayed here while we made day trips on the Bourbon Trail. The unit was clean and comfortable and accommodated all of us well. Would recommend it to anyone.

A very Nice Getaway - One Hiccup

The house is VERY spacious and was exceptionally clean upon our arrival. The resort community is quiet, easy to access, and has very nice trails, and great nearby food choices. Communication with the property hostess was open, clear, concise, and professional. Exceeded my expectations in ALMOST every way. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the one and only negative. Before booking the property I emailed a question as to whether the hot tub on the deck was working and available for our planned stay (the following week). Within an hour I had a message saying it was. Two days later, and two days before our arrival, I received a message that the hot tub was now not working, that is was going to be replaced, and that it would not be working for our stay. The only filter option I use for our VRBO searches is "hot tub". The reason I emailed in advance is because we love to sit in a hot tub under the stars and relax. To say we were disappointed is a tremendous understatement. We absolutely would have cancelled over this and booked elsewhere with a functioning hot tub. The options we were given were cancel and get 50% refund or make the trip and get a smaller discount. We made the trip and made the best of it. The hostess went above and beyond to try and make it right......but we were still disappointed with that one thing.

4 night lake getaway

Barefoot Cottage was just what we needed! It was very nice and roomy for our group 7! Everything was very clean and organized! We did have air conditioning issues when arriving but I had already received a email asking how everything was so I responded to the email and within 15 minutes I was contacted via phone and text (cell service is in and out by the lake) and my issue was resolved in no time! We would most definitely stay here again!!!

Nice Holiday Giveaway

We wanted somewhere to spend a few days away from home during the holidays and we were not disappointed. The home was clean, well furnished and cozy. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the board games. Our teens enjoyed the large bedrooms with their own televisions. We did some hiking and outdoor activities right there on the property. Louisville was a relatively short drive away where we could get some yummy take-out or do some safe "socially distanced" activities. Highly recommended!

21st Birthday Bourbon Tour

We rented cabins 53&56 from Sue for our Daughters 21st and couldn't be happier!! My Sister's family stayed in one and us the other. Both places were clean and as advertised. The setting is very nice. Would definitely rent again!!
