Wonderful

The house was super clean and had dishes, cleaning products, laundry detergent, everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The pool and spa were fabulous and so pretty at night.Host were super responsive. We had a wonderful time!

Just Amazing!

House was perfect for my entire family! Very spacious, clean, and full of activities for the whole family! Owner was accessible at all times and very responsive at any time of the day. Would definitely recommend this home. I cannot say anything more than WOW what an amazing home.

The Family Beach House

We had a great time at the Sumter Beach House. We had adults, teens and children and everyone had an awesome week. The pool was a tremendous plus, and the place was spacious enough for four family units. The hosts were easily accessible but not invasive. We all agreed we could come back again

Perfect for family with lots of children!

We had a great stay here with our younger children. The most enjoyed features by the kids were the pool and the TVs with lots of options. We enjoyed having two kitchens, being five minutes from shopping and close to the beach, quiet neighborhood, board games. two kitchens to prep food, lots of beds for sleeping and best of all, an amazing pool! Communication with owner was seamless. All around a great experience!

Beware of mosquitoes!

Shower curtain upstairs was moldy, soap was watered down in dispensers and there were stains on a bed. Needed to text host to turn on hot tub and got eaten alive by mosquitoes the first night. Golf cart fit 5 people so we had to make 2 trips if we didn’t want drive and to pay to park in town. Lots of good restaurants and nice beach.

Unexpected surprises

After our original booking elsewhere got cancelled at the last minute, we lucked into finding this listing which had just received a cancellation for the week we were looking for. It was a great blessing
an extra bedroom, bath and larger pool. 1st visit to Carolina Beach but definitely not our last. Fantastic house, pool/yard & location. Set up is great, having upstairs & downstairs kitchen and living spaces. Golf cart was an unexpected bonus. Quick response to questions and clear instructions. There’s a good variety of activities around -we enjoyed them but looked forward to returning to the house and pool! We are already planning on a return trip!

Not Impressed

The property served the purpose of having a roof over our heads for 2 days. It appeared to be a weekday home for the owners while they work in the property. Empty boxes, sheets stuffed in the closets, drawers with personal items, used toiletries, half used lotions and shampoos, etc. The second strike was the uncleanliness. The floors needed to be swept, the shower curtains had enough scum (just buy cheap clear ones at a dollar store), the mattress covers were filthy, the mattresses had hug urine stains, etc. then there was a lack of safety where the gate cut two people from a nail sticking out and the mattress frame sticks out and hurt someone’s leg. It was a hassle to have to bring bed sheets for that many beds. There were wardrobes with old sheets that I wouldn’t dare to use. Most of all, the neighborhood is racist and full of haters. They complained because 4 cars were parked in front of the house. On our arrival the day before, we saw them staring from the front and taking pictures. My mother and mother-in-law saw them looking over the fence and balconies in the back. There was no loud noise. And for less than an hour, people gathered to get ready for a beach party. The 4 cars had to park at the house due to lack of parking. It was within minutes that we kept receiving calls saying we violated policy
from parking on the city street
really?!? Honestly, we were watched the entire time. Not sure if it was by the owners or the peeping neighbors

This home was perfect for our family getaway! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The pool was definitely a highlight—our kids (and adults!) loved it. We’d absolutely stay here again!

This is our 3rd summer staying here and we look forward to more. It’s the perfect home to relaxin with the pool being the star of the property. Conveniently located to shops, park and beach. We missed the golf cart but we’re close enough to rent one easily. Definitely a home away from home.

A fun week for the whole family

We had a fantastic week with our family! The pool and hot tub were absolutely perfect—a great way to relax after exploring the area. The house was spotless and even more spacious than we expected, with plenty of room for everyone. The location was ideal: we walked to the beach and made a short drive into downtown Wilmington for shopping and restaurants. The owners were very responsive and helpful, and the neighborhood felt quiet and safe. We’d definitely stay here again—it was everything we hoped for and more.

Misrepresented online

The house is in poor condition and repair. There are trash bags and junk in the closets, one of the closets' doors was broken and laying on the wall, the bottom floor smells strongly of mold, the upstairs kitchen is in disrepair, there was a dead roach in one of the upstairs bedrooms, the beds had NO cover---just naked mattresses , there were rusty bikes with flat tires available for guests to "enjoy", the area next to the pool was junky and moldy, the laundry area was in disrepair and smelled strongly of mold...I could go on, but I think you get the impression. I will NEVER book with VRBO again. When I tried to report the problem to VRBO, the process was VERY cumbersome. Never again, and I'll tell all my friends. VRBO is terrible.

Family Time

Our stay was very comfortable and we enjoyed the location. All concerns were addressed and Derek the husband and owner was very professional. The listing had an amenity that was not available and we were not told in advance. Therefore we had no time to explore another accommodation. Amy, the wife and owner was very impatient with talking to me and reminded me over and over again that a fee was not charged. I felt very disrespected as if I’m not clear on contractual terms. I sent a message of thanks and not once replied to with a “you’re welcome “ or “hello”. We loved the home but felt we were not entirely welcomed. Thank you for accepting the reservation.

The pool and hot tub for the WIN

Thank you for a fun-filled vacation for our kids and grandkids. Memories were made to last a lifetime! Relaxing by the pool and in the hot tub was the overall huge win for our entire family, especially the grandkids! Though we didn’t take the golf cart out, that was a super gracious amenity. Thank you again!

Wonderful Vacation

Love at first site. This is a great house. 3 Bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms upstairs and 2 Bedrooms and a full bathroom off of a bedroom downstairs. The house was great for our family plenty of space. The pool and hot tub are amazing. The owner is very fast to respond to texts and willing to listen to any concerns. The golf cart is a great bonus as you can drive that to the beach access and park for free. Anyone will love this house. Pack your sheets and blankets the house has plenty of towels. If you need to do laundry the washer and dryer are great. You are centrally located. Go to Carolina Beach, Kure beach, Fort Fisher, the aquarium, and take the ferry to Southport that makes a great day trip and it's only $7.00 per car load. Great trip came home very relaxed.
