The Owl House on Broadway (3 Bed / 3.5 Baths)

The Owl House is located in the heart of Jim Thorpe, right on Broadway! This beautiful Victorian home built in 1836 is walking distance to the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, museums, shops, trails, and restaurants/bars. Upon entering you will feel the warm and inviting old spirit of a Jim Thorpe Home.

The first floor includes a large living room that has exposed brick with restored original pine wide plank flooring. It also boasts a large Victorian bar and bistro table. French doors lead to the formal dining room featuring a huge eight-foot trestle table with abundant seating. The kitchen is fully stocked to prepare meals, has all modern appliances and a stack washer/dryer. Additionally, there is a half bath on this level. The kitchen leads to a back porch and terraced garden. Enjoy cocktails on the rear porch or at the outdoor dining table.

The second level offers a large master suite with king size bed, sitting area and private bath. The second bedroom offers a queen size bed. There is a full bath on this floor as well. Two staircases (front and rear) provide easy access to the 2nd level.

The third level provides an additional charming suite with a king bed, sitting area, desk, and its own full bath!

Off-street parking is adjacent to the home! Three mid-sized vehicles can park in line (nose to tail) in the private driveway!

Best vrbo

Beautifully decorated home with all amenities (and more) provided. Perfect location. Parked our cars in driveway and walked everywhere all weekend. Best vrbo we have had pleasure of staying in.

The Owl House

The Owl House superseded expectations significantly. We were looking for a weekend to get away in Jim Thorpe and chose the house based mostly on location. The location was ideal, right on the main strip just feet away from coffee and some great restaurants. What made the trip so special was the house itself. The details and design inside the house are nothing short of perfect. The furniture, decor, vibe...was right on. Not only would I stay again but I wouldn't stay anywhere else but here while visiting. Thank you guys so much.

Best Vrbo we've ever stayed in!

From the complimentary wine and snacks to the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in- our entire stay at The Owl House was incredible. The location could not have been more perfect, the decor and cleanliness was exceptional. Just an overall perfect stay. Could not recommend enough!!

A Great Getaway!

The Owl House was an excellent place for a Jim Thorpe weekend. The house is clean, cozy, beautifully decorated and in a great location. Hosts were quick in answering any questions and their special touches made this a real home away from home for our weekend. We hope to stay at The Owl House again!

Owl house was a real hoot!

Our stay at the owl house was one of our best VRBO experiences to date. The house itself is architecturally very unique/cool due to being from the 1800's. They accommodated an early check-in, it was super clean, perfectly decorated for the holidays (Christmas), and the hosts provided a great selection of amenities.The location was excellent for exploring the heart of Jim Thorpe on foot. We will be looking forward to our next reason to return to this spot!

Amazing home!

My friend and I stayed at the Owl House for a weekend getaway. We were more than pleased with the accommodations. The home was immaculate and very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The owners, Brian and David, thought of everything you could ever need during your stay. Aunt’s 80th Birthday Celebration

First of all, Brian and David are The Best Hosts! They thought of everything: drinks, snacks, wonderful throw blankets to keep us warm out on the beautiful back porch. Fall Festival Girls’ Trip

I could tell by the initial contact from Brian when I made the reservation, that this was going to be an exceptional experience. As a host, Brian was super responsive and very generous! There were treats waiting for us upon our arrival. The home is amazing…it was decorated for Halloween and so nice and cozy. It had everything you could possibly need for a weekend away. The location is convenient to everything. I would highly recommend staying at the Owl House! We had a PERFECT girls’ trip!

A tasteful mix of modern, rustic, and cozy at the beautiful Owl House offering peaceful mornings enjoyed on the back porch surrounded by the views and sounds of nature and walking distance to everything! Best Place To Stay

This is my second time staying at the Owl House in Jim Thorpe. The house is amazing from the design to all the details with decorating. You will feel right at home. Relaxing girls weekend

My friends and I needed a relaxing weekend away and loved staying at the Owl house! At a time when a lot of VRBO’s do the bare minimum, they went above and beyond with snacks, drinks, a bottle of wine, and coffee all supplied for us! The house is gorgeous and has an amazing backyard and it’s walking distance to everything in Jim Thorpe! I hope to stay here again soon!

Absolutely beautiful!

The Owl house was one, if not the best, rental property I've ever stayed in. The owners were easy to work with and they left us wine and snacks which was a nice touch! The house is the perfect blend of old charm and modern conveniences. We were blocks from downtown stores and restaurants and never touched our car the entire weekend. And it was decorated beautifully for the holidays! Wish we could have stayed longer and we will definitely be back!!

Another amazing stay at The Owl House!

We absolutely love The Owl House! This was our second stay and I have to say, when we walked through the doors it was like we never left. We felt at home and so peaceful, and like we never left. Brian and David make sure you feel welcomed in their home. They couldn’t have made our stay better than it was. We can’t wait for next year! I’m counting down the days!

Amazing Stay!

My friends and I stayed at The Owl House for a girls trip and we were so happy we picked this house. It was amazing! I've rented quite a few VRBO houses and this was by far the best. It was so clean and all the furniture, appliances, etc. were in great condition. We loved how the whole house was connected to Alexa so we could control the lights and listen to music in every room. The location was also great - we could walk to the bars & restaurants as well as the Opera House. Brian was a wonderful host - very responsive and friendly. He left a note for us when we checked in along with wine and snacks. Just some of the many thoughtful touches throughout our stay. I truly wish every VRBO experience could be this good.

Hidden Gem in Jim Thorpe

Simply Wow! The photos do not do this home justice. From the moment you step foot into this beautiful get-away, you will feel at ease and right at home. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with no details left to chance. The outside grounds have a welcoming patio in the back with a relaxing atmosphere perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or tea. Location! You couldn't ask for a better location to start your exploration of this charming town. Literally steps from the museum, dining, shopping, points of interest, etc., we were never more than a few minutes to any of our chosen destinations. The onsite parking is also a major plus. Everyone in our party of six stated many times that this was the nicest VRBO they have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many all over the States. We will be back!

Beautiful, Spacious Home in Walking Distance to All!

The Owl house is an absolutely Fantastic Property! It truly delivers on everything and then some! The home itself is in a fantastic location, making it so perfectly walkable to practically everything in Jim Thorpe. And if you haven't been before, you will so appreciate that this home has onsite PARKING as the town gets mobbed! The home was so beyond our expectations - despite the lovely online photos. It is so spacious over the 3 floors, so beautifully decorated, and has every amenity you could want. And with a beautiful outside area too! And to top it off, Brian could not have been a kinder or more responsive host. Would give him 10 stars if I could! He truly wants you to love your stay, the home, and the town, and goes above and beyond to ensure you do. Will definitely return - thank you!!!

Nestled in the Poconos

The Owl House was fabulous! Perfect location to access everything Jim Thorpe has to offer. The private parking is a big plus as street parking is very limited. The house itself is very charming and full of amenities and modern conveniences. The hosts were awesome and left us some nice greeting greeting gifts. They also had the house and grounds decorated for Halloween which you would have to see to truly appreciate, especially the huge animated Grim Reaper scarecrow in front of the house. It was a popular attraction for passersby and the subject of many photos and selfies. The cleanest and most well-appointed rental I've ever stayed at. The bed was immediate cloud 9 time. We had a great time taking the scenic train to White Haven, biking back to Jim thorpe, enjoying a concert at the Opera House, shopping and dining at the wonderful restaurants. A must-do trip and we found the perfect home base to do it from! 5 stars+.

A perfect home away from home

Spent my birthday weekend here with my family. The location is perfect. You can park your car in the driveway and walk everywhere. The house was very clean and extremely well stocked…more so than any other VRBO stay. The homeowners truly know how to make your time there so easy and hassle-free The backyard is a perfect oasis to enjoy morning coffee and watch hummingbirds. The bedrooms and baths were ideal. The fans and AC units made all rooms very comfortable. There are a lot of steps in the home but there are lights all along them. And the note in the description about car size is important to note. Luckily we were in a Honda CRV rather than our big pickup truck. I can’t say enough about this home and the homeowners who made it the perfect place to stay in Jim Thorpe, PA!

Plush furniture, cool decor, and soft lighting add to the relaxed vibe. **Thoughtful Amenities:** What sets The Owl House apart are its thoughtful amenities. Everything is designed to enhance your stay – well-stocked kitchen, complimentary toiletries, and a great selection of games and books. Little touches like automatic lights, labeled switches, and AC/fans for hot days show they really care about their guests. **Outdoor Oasis:** Out back, there's a private garden sanctuary with comfy seating. Perfect for relaxing mornings with coffee. **Location and Accessibility:** Located on Jim Thorpe's main street, it's a perfect spot for easy access to shops and activities, yet feels like a quiet escape. Weekend at the Owl House

Had a wonderful weekend stay at the Owl House in Jim Thorpe. This is a more detailed review since they are a newer listing - The location is great- right in the heart of the downtown district- which is great because there is a driveway for off street parking and you can just leave your car there and travel on foot. The house was absolutely charming and well appointed- a great mix of vintage and new. The pictures do not do it justice- it was bigger and more spacious than expected and impeccably clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook and serve a meal - plenty of pots/pans/dish ware/spices and basics like cooking oil. There is a instant hot water tap which was great for my tea habit and also a keurig if coffee is more your thing. The living room was spacious and comfy and the Victorian bar was a fave place to mix up our cocktails. My daughter got a kick out of the houses smart features- being able to have Alexa turn the lights on or play music throughout the house was a plus! The master bedroom is its own oasis and a great space to relax after hitting the downtown. The master bath shower has multiple jets and a rain shower - I didn’t want to get out! We didn’t use the 3rd floor but took a peek and it was also cozy and inviting with its own bathroom. The owners were great hosts- they made sure every need was anticipated and met, were very easy to contact and very responsive to questions about best places to eat and things to do. We had a wonderful stay, would definitely stay again and would recommend it to others coming to the area.

A few years ago, we wanted to have a weekend getaway in the Poconos. In our search of where to stay, we stumbled across Jim Thorpe, PA. Coming down Rt 209, heading into town, we were intrigued. As soon as we turned left on Broadway, we knew we were home. That weekend was the start of an adventure that eventually led us to purchasing The Owl House. This is our getaway and we hope it becomes yours.
