Fishing Cove Private Waterfront Retreat med pool och pir - 22 sovplatser

Fishing Cove är ett fullt möblerat familjevänligt hus med sex badrum på åtta sovrum vid vattnet undangömt i en frodig tallskog. Vårt fritidshus vid vattnet ligger på en mycket privat vik med 2 tunnland fastighet vid vattnet och en stor privat brygga och 3 båtlipor. Enkel åtkomst med bil eller med båt från Chesapeake Bay.

Drick ditt morgonkaffe på vårt 12 "x 72" däck och tittar på fåglar och rådjur. Fisk och krabba från vår brygga. Simma i vår pool. Vårt stora välkomnande hus har allt du behöver för en avslappnad semester på östra kusten, inklusive tillgänglighetsfunktioner - elektrisk rullstolslift, ramper och breda bottenvåningsdörrar.

Ligger på Fishing Creek utanför Little Choptank 9 miles från Cambridge, Maryland, vi är nära Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, och vår strandlinje lockar en fantastisk mängd vattenfåglar. Vi har fantastiska cykelvägar: Plana och natursköna, så ta med dina cyklar. Ta med kanot och utforska strandlinjen. Huset är underbart när som helst på året!

Great relaxing spot!

We were a group of siblings and some children celebrating Thanksgiving together in this lovely and well kept home. The communication with Virginia was great. She was very receptive of our needs. The rooms were very spacious. The house clean and well equipped. We would love to return during warm days to be able to enjoy the pool, fishing in the backyard and more walks. We recommend this home!

Family vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Fishing Cove, everyone enjoyed the pool. The pool was well taken care of. Location was very peaceful and quiet. Bedrooms were spacious and located apart from each other. We enjoyed sitting outside on the big deck with awning to block midday sun.

Beautiful setting, fun for kids

Great family getaway with plenty of activities for the kids. We caught a ton of crabs off the dock and were able to cook them. The pool is a great size, and the view from sitting on the pool deck is amazing. Highly recommended for a family looking for a quiet place to stay that will keep kids entertained.

Wonderful

Our family group of age 3 to 75 had a wonderful time at the house. Everything was just as described in the listing. Everyone especially enjoyed the pool and deck area. The beds were comfortable and it was fabulous to have 6 bathrooms for our group. The only issue we had was the bugs. Be sure to bring your insect repellant!

summer vacation

this was a terrific house for our big family, plenty of room for everyone!!! loved the seclusion of it. we spent most of our time on the back deck and in the beautiful pool, caught crabs off the dock and did some kayaking, i would definitely rent it again, thanks Virginia for sharing your home!!!!

We enjoyed the property, but wished there was more to do in area. I found the yellow sheets in a suitcase. Some one was playing a trick on me. Sorry. My husband said the air conditioning filter should be changed for better efficiency

Outstanding location. Peaceful,quiet lovely view House needs to be freshened up

Loved the house and location. Beautiful view and so peaceful. Enjoyed watching the birds and crabbing from the dock. Plenty of space for our family. Pool and deck were lovely. Great seating outside and loved the grill! Only complaints- house needs painting, new sofas and new mattress in the master upstairs. Fishing Cove was neat, tidy and clean. Our family agreed that we would love to return.

Best week of the year

Very Happy with the week. Weather could have been cooler. A railing to get out of pool would be nice. Better TV's would be nice but not having TV for a week was great too. We are thinking of doing it again next year.

August get away

Our group of 15 had a great week at Fishing Cove. We were out kayaking every day - sometimes a bit of a challenge to launch depending on the water level. There wasn’t any boat traffic so even our beginners could kayak as far as they could paddle. We had a wonderful time playing in the pool and watching the birds and encountered lots of frogs and salamanders. A great time was had by all. Also - having 2 refrigerators was a real bonus!

Great spot for multiple families with young children

This home was perfect for our family get away with multiple couples and lots of small children. The pool was secured from the kids but also easily accessible. We did a lot of cooking and were pleasantly surprised at every meal with just how stocked the kitchen was and convenient for serving big meals. Also plenty of outside seating for everyone which was very convenient. We had a minor issue with the air conditioning early in the week and the owner couldn’t have been more responsive and pleasant! She made sure the issue was fixed as quickly as possible. We can’t wait to go back next summer!!

Quiet cove, comfy, well equipped house.

Generous size rooms with lots of natural light. Bathrooms are spacious and well equipped. There is a open area on the second floor for cozy gatherings or a nice place to read away from the crowd. The dining rooms seats 10 comfortable, we were fine with our group of 12 sitting around the table. The kitchen is large and well stocked with plenty of pots and pans, plates and utensils. There are essential 4 separate sleeping wings, so the big snorers in our group kept to one of the wings and the rest of us slept undisturbed. The house is well maintained and the beds are comfortable.

Delightful Thanksgiving Weekend

This home was just right for our 22 member family. The deck was a delightful place to relax in the early morning sun and the kids devised so many games to play there throughout the day. It is a bird watchers paradise in the early mornings and evenings. The board walk to the water was so peaceful and quiet each morning. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. The house accommodated our two folks with disabilities -the lift and so many first floor bedrooms were accessible and easy to use. The beds were great throughout and plenty of bathrooms. Ginger, the owner, was so responsive and generous. It was an easy house to live in and to enjoy everyone being together. Thank you

Great Place for a Big Family

This property was great. We stayed in the winter so our experience was a bit different than the average summer guest, but the view of the bay was beautiful. The house is huge and had plenty of space for the 14 of us. The house is in need of a couple of repairs and could probably use a new coat of paint here or there, but is generally very nice. The only big issue we had was that the heat in the 2nd floor was kind of overbearing and we couldn't quite figure out how to turn it down. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend to a large family who wants to spend time together but also have room to escape.

Had a great vac house was roomy , loves the pool and decks . Couldn’t swim in the water by the docks because of jelly fish :( ! Only issue was the AC downstairs wasn’t working the best and most days it was 81 in the house during the day and around 76 at night vary hot and uncomfortable to sleep most nights , AC upstairs was nice and cold . I would definitely revisit in the future.

Family reunion vacation.

The location and pool were great. We brought our own kayaks and found it easy to launch our flotilla from a space near the dock where we did some fishing. The pool was great and it had lots of lounge chairs which was a big plus. As to the interior, the recently renovated was beautiful and well stocked. We could for a multitude easily. The layout of the house was great for housing several families with teenagers and a baby. On the disappointing side we’re the beds. They are full size not queen Iin the suites which does not work well for two adults. In the twin rooms the mattresses were too small for the beds which is okay for children but not for older teens. Maybe the next Reno project? All in all, a great vacation.

Great for multi-generational families

We loved it! We had 13 people who stayed the whole time, and a couple that came in for visits. The place is spacious and has the "right stuff" (plenty of towels, kitchen utensils and appliances/equipment (2 fridges!), games and puzzles, a great deck for reading, and, best of all, a swimming pool). We've stayed in a lot of places (in various areas), and this one had the best configuration with good furnishings. We didn't get to enjoy the big yard, because it rained every day there, but it would be a great play area for children (with mosquito repellant on). The heavy rain also meant that the crabbing was not great, but just wait until next year! The one suggestion I would make is to add some hooks to the doors to hang up towels. The host was very responsive and helpful, both before and during our visit.

Really nice property in a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle for a little while.

The house is very well equipped - especially the kitchen ( it's the first place we have stayed in 14 yrs. that actually had a grill to make pancakes on!) Having pool towels provided was definitely a plus. There was plenty of room to spread out and not be in anybody's way. The pool was the biggest hit. Our grandchildren lived in it for the week. Only down side was the surprising discovery of a wasp's nest under the surrounding bench (which the owner took care of right away when she was told about it.) We did not get to use the row boats due to lack of oars, but they were delivered the day we left, so I know the next family will enjoy paddling around the river. We all really enjoyed our week here. I called it a little like Walden Pond (very peaceful and serene early in the mornings - and then the kids would wake up!)

Family Reunion

I wanted to give this a four star rating but there are a few shortcomings with this property. The positives are the owner is a delight and responds quickly to issues, the pool and deck are great, kitchen well equipped, plenty of seating around deck. The negatives are the mattresses are old and need replaced, one of the deck umbrellas is broken, towel rack broken, ceiling fan not working, rowboats advertised on website not useable. Other things that are not the fault of owner but renters should be aware of: the inlet to the bay is full of jellyfish and not swimmable and mosquitoes and biting flies are abundant. Bring lots of bug spray and be prepared to use it. Having said this my family had a fun time and the scenery is lovely.

Perfect location pool area but house cleanliness awful!

The issues of cleanliness started as soon as we walked in the door, there were flies everywhere and it took a couple of hours to clear them out. In the master bedroom bathroom there was an unplugged refrigerator that was moldy inside. Two of the draws in one of the main refrigerators were not clean. The most revolting thing was the dishwasher, it was dirty and stunk. Even after running a cleaner through it and scraping out the scum it still had a revolting smell. One of the toilets is very badly stained and the showers in some of the bathrooms are very slow to drain. Cleaning in general is very poor, under one unit there was clumps of hair. The heat in the house was overwhelming and was not resolved for two days. We tried to get air flow through the house but some of the windows were stuck shut and others had no screens. Then if you could open a window it was very very dirty! There was a number to call about cleaning issues but, this needs a major clean, for it to be this dirty this early in the season is shocking.

The house was great! But there is no hot tub.

The only negative thing I can say about this house, and unfortunately it is kind of a big deal, is that the VRBO listing very clearly says that this house has a hot tub.This house does not have a hot tub. This house has never had a hot tub, and the owner does not know why VRBO says the house has a hot tub.Anyway, once we found out, it was too late to switch bookings and we made the best of the house. It is a great house! But, weirdly, we had to scroll through 4 years of VRBO reviews from guests to find any mention of the hot tub expectation - we found one from 2020.Thanks,Noel

Making Memories

Had a wonderful three days at Fishing Cove. The house was very well appointed, clean and perfect for our group of 14 high school friends celebrating our 77th birthday year. Beautiful sunrise over the water.

With 3 married children and five grandchildren we added a second floor to Fishing Cove to accommodate all of us as well as our friends. When our family isn't using Fishing Cove we offer it to other families so they can enjoy it as much as we do!

Varför värden valde detta boende

We bought this house because of its PERFECT location. It is only 60 miles from Annapolis so getting there is easy, going from the hustle of city life to perfect peace in an hour's drive. It started out as a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house that we enlarged and improved to fit the needs of our own large extended family. Then we decided to offer it to other large families for their vacations so they can enjoy it too!
