Över 100 Ă„r gammal Ă€r detta historiska hem en av de tidigaste bostĂ€derna pĂ„ St. Simons Island och har Ă€gs av samma familj sedan byggandet. Det Ă€r ett strandhem i ordets verkligaste bemĂ€rkelse - en som har flyttats tillbaka frĂ„n havet tvĂ„ gĂ„nger under sin historia, vilket lĂ€mnar ett grĂ€sbevuxet parti framför stugan och en vacker strandutsikt frĂ„n den stora verandan. Fastigheten har en privat tillgĂ„ng till stranden och ett privat dĂ€ck pĂ„ stranden. Strandhuset ligger i ett fantastiskt lĂ€ge pĂ„ gĂ„ngavstĂ„nd till byn, fyren och mĂ„nga restauranger.

Utrymmet

Kör in och parkera i ett privat, skuggat parti med carport för tvÄ och ytterligare utrymme för fem eller fler bilar. NÀr du kommer in i huset frÄn bakdörren, kommer du att gÄ tillbaka i tiden eftersom din första syn Àr matplatsens antika runda bord som har plats för cirka 10 personer. Det fullt utrustade köket till vÀnster gör att du kan laga dina egna mÄltider. TvÀttmöjligheter Àr inneslutna pÄ verandan.

NÀr du lÀmnar matomrÄdet gÄr du in i en stor hall som leder till familjerummet. Utanför hallen och familjerummet finns fyra sovrum, varav tre innehÄller sÀngar med dubbelsÀng. Det andra sovrummet har tvÄ enkelsÀngar och ligger pÄ en ljus och luftig sidoruta med fönster. PÄ övervÄningen erbjuder ett stort sovrumsstil sovrum med dubbelsÀng, 5 enkelsÀngar och en dubbel futon. Det finns ett komplett badrum pÄ övervÄningen med badkar. Ytterligare tvÄ badrum Àr nere pÄ sovrummen, ett med badkar / duschkombo och ett med dusch. Utanför verandan finns "Bröllopsresa" (som familjen kallar det): ett separat, fristÄende sovrum med en queen size-sÀng och ett komplett badrum med dusch. Alla madrasser Àr helt nya.

Huset Àr inrett i en fÀrgstark, sommarstil passande stranden, och möblerna inkluderar mÄnga professionellt restaurerade antika bitar. NÀr du kommer tillbaka frÄn stranden ska du rengöra sanden i den slutna utomhusduschen. GÄ sedan igenom huset, med en sval drink i handen, till husets breda veranda. PÄ verandan hittar du gungstolar, bord, en veranda och en hÀngmatta. Detta Àr vÄr favoritplats för besök med familj och vÀnner, njuta av havsutsikten och vinden eller ta en tupplur!

Aged but good.

Some trouble with a shower in the middle bedroom and the air-conditioner in the back bedroom. Would like to stay there again.

We were very pleased with our stay. The home was “perfectly vintage.” It was plenty spacious for our group and never felt cramped or crowded. In fact, we were able to sit all 11 of us at the table for dinner together. The home was very clean and beds comfortable. Two large side by side refrigerators in the kitchen were a treat. The location could not be better, only steps from the beach and an easy walk to the shops, lighthouse and restaurants. Very tiny recommendation would be to replace the two floor fans in beachside bedrooms. Was only an issue because we picked July! The air conditioners worked very well for the job they were given. I hope to be able to visit again. Would 100% choose this home over any of the newer ones. Charm and location.

Great Stay on the Beach

The property was nice and spacious. We had a lot family with us and we used every room. It was nice being able to wake up early have a cup of coffee and watch the waves come in from the screened in porch.

Fun at the beach

Not a five star by any means but is great for families. The view and proximity to the beach can’t be beat. Plenty of charm but some of the furniture could use a refresh. It is a great location for bike riding and walking on the beach.

Great location, house as described. Other than the bathroom layout downstairs, this house was perfect for our needs. Front porch was perfect! We got very lucky for late October and were able to be on the beach both days we were there.

82nd Birthday Celebration

We had my mother's birthday here with 18 of us from age 1-82 and it was THE PERFECT PLACE to gather and make really special memories! An all girl trip except for a couple of little boys so, the upstairs was perfect for all the teens/twenties. We will be back!

Thompson house St Simon Island

This house is amazing! We loved the view,the short walk to the Light House and the shops. There were 3 generations of us,from 4 years to 65 years, there was enough room that we were not on top of each other. The guys spent most of the night fishing in front of the house,everyone enjoyed the beach. I loved the front porch, as I am a rocking chair kind of gal,lol. We are already talking about doing this again next year,I would recommend this to everyone., thankyou for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful experience

So my 3 girls met up with my wife and I with there kids. All the kids were under 11yrs old. Everyone had a great time. Kids loved the beach even though the water was to cold they built sand castles every day. There was so much room that you would never know there was 14 of us there. The restaurants were all wonderful. The Christmas lights and tree lit up the village. And the pier and light house topped it off. We will definitely be back!!

Do not miss this incredible home!

Do not look any further for a fantastic house for many! Our family enjoyed a beautiful Thanksgiving long weekend there - the house, plus the lot in front that is on the beach made it just the perfect place to play and relax. There were a few issues while there, and some extra cleaning was needed - but I cannot say enough about how quickly the property manager resolved our issues and I believe the owners too. Communication is so important and they were above and beyond making things right!

Classic Beach House with Perfect Location

We had a great time and enjoyed the porch, deck, private beach access and convenience to village. This 100 year old cottage was comfortable even as freezer died and garbage disposal didn’t work (thankfully the central AC did).

Family beach vacation

We had a family vacation with 4 families staying at this house - a total of 17 people ranging from 2 - 73. The beds were comfortable, and the location from the beach and downtown was great. We felt a bit misled about the bathrooms. The listing states 4 full baths. While technically true, 1 bathroom had only a tub, which made it basically not a full bathroom for adults. Some families don’t mind being wall to wall people and everyone sharing everything. We are not like that. The kitchen was really small with people on top of each other and not enough room for more than about 9 at the table without elbow room. The porch was nice, but the door leading to the porch did not open easily (ie it took about 4-5 turns of the handle and pulling hard on the door to finally get the door to open EVERY TIME - which was a lot of times). Some people got so fed up with the door they just walked around the house every time. The room with twin beds is off of another bedroom, making it a room that was less usable for our group. Also, several of the rooms had pretty weak A/C, which meant they were pretty hot and humid. The kids all had a blast in the upstairs dorm-like room, so that was nice. Linens were in rough shape as was most of the stuff in the kitchen. The DVD player didn’t work. Lightbulbs were missing, some were burned out. Again, if you’re a family that doesn’t mind everyone sharing everything and being kind of on top of each other and just looking for a place to crash, don’t hesitate to book. If you want a nicer property and more space, you may want to look elsewhere. Was it overall a good vacation? Yes. Were the beds comfortable? Yes. Was the house close to the beach? Yes. Was the showering and toilet situation a pain? Yes. Would we stay there again? No. We would opt for a place with 4 full baths with showers and that is a little more well kept.

Dissapointed

Everything was great until we opened the lock box & opened the door to the Dining Room. There was a plastic Coolwhip container on the floor & a note on the table stating (Leak in ceiling)! Thinking maybe it was from rain & it would clear up soon ... NOT!!!!! When we left this morning it was still dripping!!! Not the first call about it or no repair person stopped by!!! It was so unsanitary to drip right beside the table where 11 adults were trying to eat!! Not sure but think it was coming from upstairs bathroom!!! Gross!!! I cannot believe that this house can even be on the market to rent, until this is repaired!!
