This property is not well maintained or very clean. The fridge was out the day we checked in and we were told to unplug it and let it thaw. We tried that but it never started working again. Only one channel in the living room tv. Bad smell upon entering the room and it’s in bad shape. The pictures don’t seem current. If there are other options for you, use them. This property needs updated and is in need of repairs.

It was moldy, smelled of mildew, and the view was horrible. They were constructing a pier and it was noisy. Palmetto Vacations made good on this and offered us a condo that turned out to be spacious, roomy and so peaceful. It was not on the beach, but definitely made our trip memorable.

The bathroom towel bar and toilet paper holder were broken. The refrigerator had to be moved to the balcony to be defrosted, and all of our perishables put into a cooler, that was provided, but we had to purchase the ice. There was no cutlery, the pots and pans were absolutely filthy, and were thrown away by housekeeping and 1 pan was replaced, as well as bringing us some cutlery and kitchen towels. Which leads me to we were left no kitchen towels, 1 washrag, 3 bath towels and a bath mat for two adult women for six nights. The bathroom door was so warped it wouldn’t close for any privacy. I contacted Palmetto Vacation Rentals and received no call back, then called and was told to call maintenance and housekeeping, side note, Max and Gus were godsends, but Shawna at the rental agency was about as polite and helpful as a splinter. The only plus was that we had an amazing view and beach access was easy.

Looks Good Online, HORRIBLE in Reality

Do not be fooled by the photos, this place is a moldy, rust-covered nightmare. The moment I walked in, I was hit with an overpowering mold smell. I bought an air purifier just to tolerate being in the unit. The one they provided was filthy and useless. Every fixture that could rust, was rusted, shower, lights, vents. Mold on the shower ceiling, rusted light fixtures, stained furniture, dirty curtains, and broken everything: knobs, fan, towel rack, drawer, dishwasher, even the fireplace. The fridge didn’t cool, so I used a cooler. The oven door couldn’t open unless I moved the fridge. The ceiling over the microwave was caving in. Paint peeling from humidity. Half the lights didn’t work. Both TVs said “No signal.” The A/C worked, but blew dusty, dirty air through a clogged vent. I was even woken up at 9AM by loud, unexpected fumigation, no warning at all.Worst of all, I reached out to maintenance and housekeeping, no response. They clearly don’t care. I have videos and way more photos than I was allowed to post. This place ruined what should’ve been a special week. It’s disgusting, neglected, and should not be rented in this condition. The owners should be ashamed. Stay far, far away.

Enjoyed my stay

The place was nice just had a lot of humidity thank goodness they have air purifier and a humidifier. The view to the ocean is spectacular the only thing is the balconies are right next to each other not a lot of privacy, but did meet some really cool people!

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Been coming to myrtle beach for many years and stayed at most existing locations on the strip....but I would definitely not stay at meridian again....the only thing worth the stay was the view....nothing else....the unit was run down...nothing like the advice is....don't be fooled by the pictures

Perfect view but unit neglected

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The maintenance of the condo is very neglected. The air conditioning flows on the kitchen counter and on the floor everywhere. The bathroom sink was clogged when we arrived and we couldn't use it so it wouldn't overflow & also the mirroir it was a little bit broker. The fridge was not working when we arrived, had to unplug it and thaw it for a whole day, I had to go buy ice so as not to lose my food. There are tiles missing from the bathroom ceiling. There are recessed burnt lights all over the place. In the bed there is just a small sheet, we asked the housekeeping to bring us another because we were cold at night and we never had it. The carafe for the coffee maker was missing, we couldn't make ourselves any coffee and there was no toaster either. At first we wanted to extend our stay because the view is incredible but due to the negligence of the condo we decided to leave and not extend our vacation here. For the price we paid for our stay we were very disappointed, the condo would require more maintenance. I believe that for all these reasons we deserve at least to have the visa gift card as compensation!

Reviewer Comments: Started with being told we were being moved to a different site because of bed bugs in the room we booked. New room was in a better location but the room was dirty, never cleaned after last guest. Property manager sent housekeeping right away. Overall property is dated and could use some work, some fresh paint and new furniture as well as updated kitchen and appliances. Original room was at ocean forest which I never saw. Room we ended up in was at the meridian. Also, consider checkin and checkout at the actual property and not a mile down the road at a different location.

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: HORRIBLE!! 1. Sliding glass door that only opens with brute force. 2. Attacked by a Giant Roach the first day after opening said sliding glass door.3. Most uncomfortable bed on the planet. Plus, hard to sleep with the thoughts of being crawled on by mutant roaches that may come through the giant hole in the bedroom closet.4. TV and the janky DVD player did not work. Never got fixed during my 5 day stay. 5. Bathroom door with broken hinge that would not close. Took three days to get fixed. Also, broken ceiling tiles over the shower.6. Five light bulbs that were out. Fixed the same day by Max the Maintenance Man.7. From door entry pad would occasionally go dead and I would have issues getting into the room. I would have to jiggle it and tap it vigorously to get life back into it. 8. Mentioned to Max that the thermostat battery was low. It was never changed. I had to press the up/down buttons extremely hard to get the AC to turn on or off.8. I feel like I had to work way to hard calling for help and waiting on staff to get the room to average. The Stone cold property managers hate their job and take it out on the clients. I was spoke to as if I should accept the conditions I was given. Still trying to get property manager Ashley to call me to discuss compensation regarding this unpleasant stay.

Condo Had Messed Up Items

We've stayed many times at this location but not in this condo. Unfortunately for our 1st time staying in this particular condo, it had quite a few problems.

Lacking basic supplies

Hello, The look of the condo and location were GREAT! However, basic household supplies were lacking. Other condos we have stayed in, within the same area, are supplied with basic kitchen household items and cleaning items. The kitchen supplies lacking, toaster, can opener, steak knives, forks (we had three forks and four people staying there), kitchen rags for cleaning, drying hands on, bowls (two bowls and we had four people). There was an old straw broom (like one would use camping) and no actual broom or dustpan yet we are beachfront, with sand. No way to clean that up. Someone should check the bulbs in ALL light fixtures and make sure they work. We had half of the lights in the bathroom out. Even after a maintenance worker came (had the wrong bulbs did not come back), the shower faucet (only shower turned on could not use the tub as the faucet wouldn't switch from shower). We did appreciate, greatly, having such a wonderful location and the ease of a code for access as opposed to keys but basic household amenities should be included in a condo rental. We would probably not stay in this same one again UNLESS we had a full listing of what is truly included. Thank you, Jennifer

Fun but could be better

My girlfriend and I decided to stay at the Meridian Plaza, to say the least it was not the best looking interior wise but having the balcony ocean view was awesome. I have to say this, some of the light switches didn’t work. The top of the bathroom tile was moldy.

This was an enjoyable rental. Quality of the property, ocean view, and neighborhood were great. Safe and relatively quiet area. Note: The ad listing this rental shows the property (on the VRBO map) to be at approximately 23rd Ave. & Ocean Blvd. As it turned out, this was the location of the check-in office. The property is actually located at approximately 64th Ave (approximately 3 miles North).

Very poorly maintained condo.

Black mold in four locations. Missing ceiling tiles in shower. Rusty hvac vents. Dirty floor never mopped! Filthy blankets and dirty pillows for bed. TVs did not work. No toaster. 50% of ceiling puck lights did not work. Electrical outlet in bedroom didn’t work. Burned out light bulbs. Handles on entry door, bathroom door and slider to balcony were all loose. Balcony door needs cleaned in track— does not slide easily. Light fixture on balcony full of bugs. This property has needs attention.

Great Spot and View

Excellent little condo with a spectacular view. Unfortunately the AC was not turned on when we arrived. So we arrived to a humid 84Âș apartment with freshly mopped tile floor which we had to dry ourselves with a towel and it took a few hours for the temp to drop down to something comfortable and prevent condensation of water on the floors again. Also, there was ample dishware for 2, maybe even 4, but no prep cutlery (knives) for which we could prepare our meals when we cooked-in and no dish soap or sponges/rags for cleaning dishes. We purchased a set of 3 knives as well as cleaning supplies and chose to leave them at the apartment for future guests.
