Fantastic Views

The views from this property are simply amazing and can be enjoyed sitting on the deck or in the hot tub. The property needs a little TLC. The sauna doesn’t work. The shared shower set up is different but if you’re a little adventurous, it can be fun.

Nice and relaxing getaway

Breathtaking view, got to see a bear our first night by the cabin. Clean and peaceful neighborhood. Close to town. Would definitely stay there again.

Great view, nothing else

This could be an outstanding property if it was given any attention…nothing has been updated or cleaned since 1979. Last bugs we everywhere, especially all over the shower. The bed and sheets were bought in the late 80s. There isn’t even a fitted sheet. The couch cushions have a fish smell to them. The hot tub is a plus, minus all the dead orb spiders.

Great escape

My bride and I wanted a brief getaway from the hustle of DC. This was a perfectly nestled, private property with incredible views - home is gorgeous inside as are the views. Thank you to the owners!

Mountain Vacation

We had a unique bear experience. We ordered pizza to delivered to the property. When the delivery man showed up at our door he was being chased by a large black bear. It was about 10' on his heel. We let him in the house and locked the door. The bear left with her 3 cubs in 5 minutes. The view was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Weekend getaway

We were looking for a secluded style chalet, and this was about as close as you could get. The early morning views did not disappoint. The property manager was extremely helpful and nice and the check in process was a breeze. The chalet seemed to be a little bit on the older side but we would definitely stay here again. The 10-15 minute ride up the mountain to get here was awesome.

TN vacation

Great location, nice place close to town. Be prepared for the steep driveway. Highly recommend 4 wheel drive vehicle. Not being from TN, I was not prepared for the bear that casually came around the corner of the house as I stood outside. Be aware of your surroundings at all times!

Amazing views.

Our stay was amazing! Very relaxing environment with unbeatable views. The drive up can be intense if you are not familiar with grades and sharp turns. But the paved roads make it easy. Relax and take your time and you’ll be just fine. The only problem we encountered was a low battery chirp from a co2 detector that Doug was prompt to take care of. Clean and cozy, perfect getaway for a couple. We even got to see a bear waltz up the driveway. Definitely worth it!

Outstanding Views

The views from the upper deck are unbeatable. The property was clean and well maintained and a quick 10-15 minute drive from downtown Gatlinburg. My husband and I enjoyed our stay!

Breathtaking view, beautiful place

It was amazing! We were lucky enough to see 7 bears while staying here, which added to the spectacular view that can be seen from the deck/hot tub area. This place is extremely close to the entrance of the Smoky Mountain Nat'l park and we absolutely loved staying here after a long day exploring! We would definitely stay here again!

I'm a young professional that made a trip to Gatlinburg in 2016. I fell in love with the area and started looking for a vacation home that I could share with visitors from all over. I was fortunate enough to find the Black Bear Chalet and could not believe the views from the back deck. I noticed the identical house about 75 yards away and knew I would save up for this to be my next investment as soon as it came up for sale; which it did 4 years later! I'm very fortunate to have both chalets and throughly enjoy all the stories of visitors celebrating anniversaries, honeymoons, "a much needed relaxing vacation", and many other memories!

The VIEWS! Perched at the top of the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort you can see for miles and miles. It's such a special place and a lovely little bit of serenity.

Just minutes away from Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort, and a short drive to downtown Gatlinburg. Down the road from Gatlinburg is Pigeon Forge, a resort town with just about any activity you can imagine, including Dollywood Theme Park. The previous owners said one of the reasons they always loved it so much is it's the only place they had found that is minutes from Gatlinburg and you can see Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Lake Douglas from the balcony or the hot tub!
