Relaxation was amazing.

Lovely Beach House

Had a great time, comfortable beds, clean, and short walk to the beach. The only issue we had was with the oven, which had some issues with the display and turning on, and they need a cookie sheet, but other than that it was great!

Great beach house

Great house and location!! There was only a few small things that weren’t great, the upstairs bathroom door didn’t shut all the way so that was difficult and the downstairs shower nozzle didn’t come out as great as we would have liked. Great hot tub and such cute decor and very comfortable beds! We all loved our stay here! Thank you!

Nice house, quiet street, easy beach access

We enjoyed our stay at Cooling Waves in July 2020. The inside of the house is in really good shape inside and the rooms were comfortable. We also appreciated the easy walk to the beach and the quiet street where kids can be pretty safe playing outside. It’s a short walk to the train tracks where the little steam train goes by once each hour during the day (don’t worry - doesn’t interfere with sleep but our son loved it!). I only gave four stars because the hot tub was broken and the back yard was minimally appointed (had two folding chairs but no table, no barbecue, landscaping needs some work). I think this home has some fantastic potential with an outdoor dining and barbecue set for the summertime. Would definitely be fine to return here again.

Fully fenced backyard great for dogs

We had a great time staying with our adult kids and their dogs. The kitchen table was nice for playing games. The kitchen was fully stocked with pans and utensils and everything we needed for cooking. We would have liked to have known that there was a bin of old towels in the garage for drying dogs feet. We didn’t discover that until later. The garage also has a wagon and beach toys for going to the beach and chairs, which were awesome! There are a few minor things that are broken. The hot tub was nice, but the controls didn’t really work. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable. The front porch was very nice. We didn’t see any place for recycling so we left our recyclables in separate bags near the trash.

Great location

The location of the house is fantastic. That said, the house is pretty worn down for the price. A cabinet door came off the hinges and nearly hit my mom, but someone came out to fix it within 24 hours. The internet was spotty, so watching a movie at night was impossible. There were piles of dog poop in the back yard.

Horrible horrible experience

Me and my young kids stayed here with no power when it was expected to be turned on in a couple of hours there were no candles available there were no extra blankets no internet no phone service and the driving conditions for dangerous so we were forced to stay there freezing with no food and customer service was not helpful and did not extend my stay did not offer a discount and did not offer any credit for the nights we stayed without power they say they do not offer refunds for power outages however I read the contract and I did not find that previously agreeing to the rental. Customer service was horrible they had no compassion and when initially the power went out they offered to extend the state when I could not extend my stay but when I asked today they retracted that offer. Horrible horrible experience for me and my family I have always expressed my love of using the casa to everyone I came across but now I will never use them again and I will be sure to tell everyone what a horrible experience this was for me my family

Good layout, good location, needs a serious deep clean!

When we first walked in I thought it was a cute house, if a little smaller than the photos represent. (Looking again you can tell by door and cabinet width that a wide lens was used in most rooms) I’ll give the good first: Surfaces like counters were clean and wiped, the kitchen and bathroom floors appeared clean, fresh linens on all the beds, plenty of clean towels, and a good assortment of items for the kitchen. A nice wagon to take items to the beach and beach chairs are in the garage, and the beach is in very short walking distance and allows campfires (with regulation so read the sign and be safe) The not so good: right after we came in I noticed it had a ‘dirty house’ smell and everywhere I looked from the dirt smudged walls, to the visibly dirty and stained carpets, it was clear that it’s been awhile since the house had a real deep cleaning and carpet shampooing. There weren’t vacuum tracks on the high pile carpet in the primary bedroom on the first floor or the stairs. We saw the checklist for deep cleaning in the laundry closet and the last time it was filled out was January and we stayed in June. I really dislike when people make a big deal about you removing shoes upon entry and the carpet is gross 😬. Additionally things like seat cushions on the dining chair had all the buttons popped off. The hot tub is more of a soaking tub as only half the jets worked (which was fine, i know they can be finicky, but just to be aware) We called the helpline to make sure they knew of the condition of the home so that we didn’t get charged additional cleaning fee and they basically noted it but didn’t seem interested in any detail. The yard in the photos is sparse but maintained whereas the actual yard appears that nobody has mowed or anything yet this year. It’s knee high (taller in some spots) sparse grasses and weeds which was okay for our family but if you have real little kids it might be an issue of you were expecting a back yard they could play in. In General, the house gives the feel that this is definitely an investment property but not one the actual owners stay in. (Cabinet doors that arent wide Enough for the box above the fridge, etc) Or haven’t in a really long time. We had a really fun time because it’s the Oregon coast, but I wouldn’t recommend this specific house to rent in the future, unless you were to verify that it has been deep cleaned in the last month.

Great Getaway

Loved this place. Great house, perfect location, and wonderful neighbors. Kitchen was well supplied and home was clean, warm and cozy. What more could a person want? We'll be back!

Oregon Coast Getaway part 1

This was our first stop on our adventure down the Oregon coast. Overall, our sty was good but this was not the best vacation rental we have stayed in. The location was beautiful and quiet, close to the beach and it was easy to find. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. However, the house is a bit dated and needs a good wall cleaning or new paint. The carpets are worn and especially on the stairs, where it felt like they were angled down (perhaps a bit of a fall risk for kids or older guests). There weren’t any real wine glasses and there was no BBQ brush. The hot tub was nice and warm but the water needed to be changed prior to our arrival. It was slightly cloudy and had some particulate in the water. The fireplace was not working and the tv was a bit of a challenge to navigate through.

Lovely, clean, close to the beach

The home was very clean and cozy. Well-equipped kitchen with a big table, a big lounge-y couch in the living room, and of course a nice private hot tub. Best of all, the beach was less than a five-minute walk away through a lovely neighborhood, perfect for catching the sunset. We appreciated plenty of beach towels as well. We hope to stay here again some time!

Perfect for us

We loved the house and the location could not have been better! The residential access to the beach made us feel like we had a private beach to ourselves. It was lovely. The house set up was great, we had plenty of towels, the main bedroom on the main floor and the two kids bedrooms upstairs with their own bathroom. The hot tub was great, the whole family got use out of it. We will stay there again.

Nice short stay, easy to the beach

Nice place. We booked looking for a place that "let the dog run around in the enclosed yard". It was enclosed but the weeds (mostly) were easily over 30" everywhere. So no easy area for normal dog "functions". Hopefully the manager will post it got mowed/weedwacked and we would rent again.

Wish there was some way to get help with issues.

I tired to get ahold of the property manager quite a bit while I was there. Had several minor issues that it would have been nice to have some help with. Couldn’t get ahold of anyone. It wasn’t anything major but would have been nice to have some sort of assistance. Couldn’t get the tv to work at all and a couple other things. It was a beautiful house and our stay was wonderful besides these minor issues. Just wish there was better customer support.
