Utsökt Carriage House i vackra Coastal Maine

Vår Carriage House ligger på en vacker sträcka av Maine mitten av kusten området. Bekvämt beläget mellan de två städerna Belfast och Camden, är huset ligger i ett mycket privat område, i slutet av en mil lång asfalterad, privat cul-de-sac enhet. Inbäddat i en trädbevuxen ås på toppen av Jackson Hill, är Carriage House en idealisk semester hem för en familj eller ett par söker lugn, exklusiva logi samtidigt utforska kustnära Maine.

Huset byggdes på våren 2004. Det är syster bygga en större hem (inte synlig från Carriage House) och båda husen delar samma uppfart. Huset har alla nya apparater. Det stora sovrummet har en dubbelsäng och en tvilling i en mysig alkov åtskilda av en gardin. En angränsande badrummet har två låsbara dörrar, medan det andra sovrummet har två tvillingar.

Det finns tre utanför däck. En liten skuggade balkong utanför köket erbjuder en härlig plats att ha njuta av morgonkaffet medan du tittar på vackra trädbevuxna omgivningar, berg och fjärran hav. Den främre uteplats har ett bord och stolar och är bra för att njuta av skogsmark landskap, koppla av eller sola. Ryggen uteplats är den perfekta platsen för utanför grillning, sola eller läsa.

Lovely space at the top of a hill

We had a good stay in the carriage house and plan to be back in the future. Clean, ample linens and dishes, good shower (hot and good pressure), good internet once we found the password, comfortable beds, good lighting, big closets. There's a window AC in one bedroom and a box fan for the other, which is usually all you need in Maine.

Spacious, comfortable cottage overlooking mid-coast Maine

My family stayed at the "Carriage House" for a family wedding and found it so much roomier, cleaner and more comfortable than the hotel/motel experience most of the guests experienced. The owners made sure we had everything we needed, including dishwasher detergent delivered within an hour of my request; the kitchen was fully equipped, as was the laundry, there is a roomy downstairs tv and relaxation area below the bedrooms and kitchen. I loved the location near Lincolnville where there is swimming, a great lobster restaurant and the ferry to Isleboro; it is also near hiking in Camden Hills.

Needs

Outside lights not and it was dark at check in. House was too warm but we were able to close off bedroom for cooler sleeping. Property was great but needed some tending to. No ice and it was summer. No comfortable outdoor furniture on decks.

Needs work to bring it up to par

As others have noted, the location of this property is excellent for exploring the mid coast of Maine. It is close to Camden, Bar Harbor, Belfast, and many other tourist destinations. Also, although the property is right off Rt. 1, it is quite and secluded. This being said, however, the property is in need of a serious refresh and decluttering. The main couch in the living area has been patched and still has a large rip in it, broken chair, light bulbs that need replacing, cabinets that need cleaning, garbage that was never picked up, a table that we were afraid to touch for fear that it would collapse, etc. Additionally, there was no over-the-air TV, the wi-fi was spotty, and the "smart" TV would never connect to the wi-fi. With a bit of work and freshening, this property would be worthy of 5 stars, but not as it is.

We really enjoyed our stay at the carriage house! Nice location close to a few different towns and very quiet at night. Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of towels and linens.

Maine getaway

The property worked fine for us but may be difficult for more guests given just 1 bathroom. The house needs some maintenance but we were not bothered by it. The house location is private and quiet. We enjoyed the balcony. Would have loved a firepit or hottub (especially after big hikes)! The kitchen was adequately appointed which allowed us to cook at the house comfortably. The bedding was comfortable. The price point was appropriate.

Really nice property—more long term maintenance needed.

Very cooperative host—helpful, communicative. Very nice property. Short term cleaning was good—floors, carpets, sinks, tub, toilet, counters, furniture, fridge and stove were all clean. Cleaning supplies were more than adequate.

Peaceful and centrally located

Great base location for seeing the mid-coast region, whether it be Camden, Belfast, Lincolnville or Bar Harbor. Not for someone looking to be in the middle of town. Enjoyed a few meals listening to the rustling leaves, singing birds and soft maritime breezes. Clean and comfortable.

Wonderful, Peaceful Stay

We really enjoyed the peacefulness of Joseph's place. It was a few miles outside all the hustle and bustle of Camden, but close enough to enjoy all the wonderful restaurants and walk the town. Great home base to explore the Maine coast or just hang up and relax. Thank you Joseph for your hospitality!

First Trip to Maine

This was our first trip to Maine. We looked at hundreds of places to stay before picking this one and we hit a home run. Great place to stay. Property was as advertised. Very quiet secluded location in a great area. Would stay there again if and when the opportunity arises. Joe was easy to reach and communicate with. He was very helpful.

Northport Carriage House

This was the perfect home base for our family of 5 to explore coastal Maine. We spent time in Old Orchard Beach, Portland, Boothbay Harbor, Camden, Rockland, Rockport, Belfast, Acadia, & Bar Harbor. The wooded setting was beautiful & private. The home was lovely, clean, & comfortable. We would highly recommend. The owner went over and above when we had personal issue. He could not have been more helpful.

Great location!

The carriage house is in an amazing location for exploring Maine and has a great layout for a family. That said, the property wasn't super clean and some of the furniture was a bit run down. Overall, we had a great stay but wasn't quite what we expected.

Peaceful property that needs a little maintenance and better cleaning

Quiet, small getaway in the woods. Convenient to Camden and Belfast. Newish house, good spaces, high ceilings, natural light. Wonderful balcony overlooking the woods. Well-equipped kitchen. Would benefit from some maintenance and more attention to cleaning between guests, as well as clearer information on check-in and amenities in the house.

Great getaway

Amazing location. Quiet and secluded spot but still a very short drive to all the great restaurants in Camden and the cute family beach in Lincolnville. Mid-coast Maine location is ideal as a base camp to do day trips to both Acadia National Park and beaches in the south. Joe, the host, is a pleasure to deal with.

We bought the house and the land that it was built on in 2004. We lived here for 2 and a half years while we planned and built the house that we currently live in, sharing the driveway 700 feet up the hill. We think that the Carriage House is a perfect spot to stay for anyone who is interested in seeing mid-coast Maine. We love the fact that the house is completely private: nestled in the side of a hill, surrounded by beautiful woods, and the Camden Hills and Penobscot Bay in the distance. When we travel, we appreciate clean, well appointed facilities. We have done our best to make the accommodations in the Carriage House those that we would hope to find when traveling.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Woodland tranquility is the best feature of the Carriage House- something that seems to be harder and harder to find. Sitting on one of the three decks enjoying a coffee, you might see turkeys wander by, or hear the cry of a loon from a nearby lake. We have even seen a moose in the yard! At the same time, it is within range of numerous fun activities like beach swimming and boating, windjammer cruises, good restaurants, Acadia National Park and many others. Come and see for yourself!
