The home is less than a mile from the Pinehurst golf facility, which includes the world-renowned No. 2 course, and just down the road from the harness track and equine facility. The Retreat is well maintained to ensure that attention is paid to every detail, and features hard-wood floors and all-new furniture and mattresses as well as new kitchen appliances and granite countertops.. A washer and dryer are available for use by renters. Any unresolved on-course bets can be settled on the billiards table located in the game room.

The home is located in an established neighborhood with a spacious fenced backyard including firepit, grill and front and back porches for relaxing before or after dinner or having a quiet breakfast. It is a safe environment for younger siblings of junior-tournament golfers as well.
