Autentisk timmerstuga 1/2 mil till Appalachian Trail / på Paint Creek / Fire pit / Fiske

Viking Mountain Lodge är en gammal 2200 kvadratmeter timmerstuga som ligger i Cherokee National Forest nära Appalachian Trail. Stugan ligger högt upp i Smoky Mountains ungefär halvvägs mellan den pittoreska bergsstaden Hot Springs, North Carolina och den historiska staden Greeneville, Tennessee. De två berättelserna är gjorda av grova skurna hemlockstockar som är huggen på utsidan. Med fyra sovrum och två badrum har VML möjlighet att sova 15 gäster vilket gör det väl lämpat för stora grupper eller familjeåterföreningar.

VML har utsikt över Paint Creek som har bredden på den fyra tunnland stora fastigheten. Oavsett om du sitter på verandan i de handgjorda cypressmöblerna, på däck i gungnings- / adirondackstolarna, eller inuti med fönstren öppna, kan du lyssna på den fridfulla melodin från det rusande vattnet i Paint Creek. Våra gäster kommenterar ofta att det bara är värt att resa till Viking Mountain Lodge. Det finns en eldstad i trädgården nere vid vattenkanten för att steka marshmallows eller hålla varmen på en sval kväll. If you are looking for a place to disconnect from the world this is the place for you. There is no phone service but don't worry there is a landline if an emergency would happen. It was great to be able to lay down the cell phone and actually talk and not have the phone going off all the time. The cabin is beautiful and rustic.

This has been our happy spot for years. It is the most relaxing get-a-way anyone could wish for. It's as though you've stepped back in time when life was simple and good. We talk, play games, fish, picnic, nap, catch lightening bugs, read and good ole porch sitting. We absolutely would recommend VML to anyone looking to feel rejuvenated after vacation instead of worn out. The property is a gem inside and out.

Log cabin experience

My wife, granddaughter and I had an enjoyable stay. The home is conveniently located near the Appalachian trail and a short distance from Hot Springs and Greenville. The mountains around the property are beautiful and we enjoyed the sound of the creek in front of the home. The owner was very responsive to our needs and we would gladly stay here again.

Get Away

The bridge to the property has a steep drop off that scraped the bottom of my car. Getting in the lockbox for the key was difficult ,had to go to neighbor for property manager info. due to no wifi at the cabin to use cell phone . No heat in the bathrooms . Would only recommend if these problems was addressed.

Alan was a great host! The cabin was extremely clean, and had so much space! The kids loved the fire pit and yard games and the stream! Kitchen was easy to cook in- at first it was hard with no service but was SO NICE to disconnect! We can wait to come back during warmer weather

Although I’ve lived all over the southeast, I’ve spent the last 25 years living in and around the Orlando area. When I was a kid, my grandparents had a summer home in Lake Toxaway, NC that we used to visit every year. That is where I fell in love with the mountains. I’ve always been the outdoor adventure type and that, coupled with my experiences as a youngster, has made owning a cabin in the mountains a lifelong dream. Though I’ve never actually lived there, when I drive up to the Smokys, it feels like I'm coming home.

One of the driving forces behind my purchase of this cabin is its close proximity to the Appalachian Trail. I’ve hiked numerous sections of the AT, and this area is one of my favorites. It is the perfect jumping off point for all kinds of outdoor activities. Whether it’s fly fishing Little Laurel Creek (2 miles), kayaking the Nolichucky (9 miles), hiking the AT (1 mile), bouldering at Blackstack Cliffs (8 miles), biking the Paint Creek Trails (7 miles), or having a picnic at 4400’ in Jones Meadow (7 miles), adventure is just out the back door.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The cabin is situated nearly halfway between the quaint mountain town of Hot Springs, NC (15 miles) and the historic town of Greeneville, TN (18 miles). Although both offer adventure, relaxation, history, and culture, the best thing about Viking Mountain Lodge is the fact that you don’t even have to get in your car to find something to do. Fish for trout in the creek that runs through the front yard, go for a day hike on the AT, bike along Paint Creek up Viking Mountain Road, or grill out on the deck and enjoy the cool, clean mountain air. On a clear night, walk out the garage and look at the sky, it’s spectacular.
