The good, the bad and the ugly.

Stay with me on this. I can't review the VRBO property as I didn't end up staying there. I can only review the booking process, the communication and the check-in.The night before my flight to Mexico, I received a call from the guest house management saying, "We're sorry, we double booked. Your reservation- though confirmed and paid for- is cancelled. Shock. But we can offer you another apartment. Do you want it?" Of course, I said yes. I had no choice. When I arrived in Boca the next afternoon, someone was there to meet me and take me to the new apartment. All good. The apartment was large and clean, with a good kitchen, a large patio and a good view. But it was smaller and the location was not as good as the original. Because of that and the inconvenience, I asked for a discount. I was told, along with apologies, that I would get one. I haven't yet received it. So- some good, some bad, along with a bit of ugly. They did look after me after their error. My contact was very nice. If the VRBO apartment is as clean and nice as the one I stayed in, that's good, too. But double booking and cancelling the night before- pretty ugly.

Nice apartment

This is a nice place to stay and the location is easy to get to. Hot shower and comfortable bed. We aren't the kind to give bad reviews and this place is really great. But this is the second time we have stayed here, and both times we have had a difficult time obtaining the key. This time we were not able to get in touch with the owner after calling multiple times. Someone finally came to help us because the security camera showed us walking around and sitting with our luggage (for a long time). Then we were told that the place was double booked. After talking to several different people, one of whom I think was the owner, someone came with a key and let us in the room. If it weren't for all the trouble we have had both times, we would give this place a really good rating.
