very nice bach! we took some boardgames and DVDs for the evenings to keep the kids entertained and everyone had a great time. Lovely setting and very cosy. Zero hassle stay.

I booked a two-night, three-day break for my husband's birthday. We had a wonderful time at Kurera. The cottage was very clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Surrounded by trees, it was very quiet, with only the chirping of birds for the most beautiful sound. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Thank you, John.

Tranquil rejuvenation

We had a wonderful stay at kererƫ cottage. It was a great place for a holiday. We enjoyed time to relax and to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We also enjoyed visiting nearby beaches. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed.

Perfect bach in a perfect location

We had a lovely stay at Kereru Cottage. It was the perfect weekend getaway. Close to Matakana but far enough that you feel like you're away from it all. The bach itself had everything we needed and the view out to see is pretty special. Would definitely stay again!

Quiet sea view hideaway

Lovely Bach in good location. Easy to use, easy to clean, well maintained. Access to all surrounding spots in Matakana and the regional park. Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

Cottage surrounded by native flora and fauna

The cottage is in a nice peaceful location. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck with a coffee in the morning listening and watching the birds. The cottage is basic. It could be cleaner. But it is your typical kiwi style bach and it has what you need.

Gorgeous retreat

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Kereru cottage. It was lovely and quiet, and amazing to see the kaka and Kereru in the trees outside. Everything was clean and tidy. A very relaxing trip.

Perfect family getaway

Wonderful place that we thoroughly enjoyed staying at. Very private and quiet, surrounded by lush greenery and native birds. The host was great in responding to our queries and made sure our stay was comfortable. The kiddies (1 and 4 yo) enjoyed the toys and books available there, as well as playing on the deck and picking wildflowers. Thanks for having us, Kereru Lodge!

Lovely quiet spot for a getaway

This bach was in a lovely, peaceful spot, walking distance to Baddeley’s beach and playground. Very close to beautiful Anchor Bay and all the creature comforts of Matakana. Thanks for having us, we’d love to come back sometime soon.

Quiet location surrounded by native trees. Bach has everything you need, basic but clean. Lovely getaway spot, local beach is cute but very tidal. Handy for Omaha Tawhranui and Matakana. Thanks John!

Relaxing on the deck

Views of the sea thru the bush with native birds flying around overhead. Comfy beds and air conditioning a great bonus in the heat, well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Limited phone coverage. Short stroll to the beaches. A great relaxing time had.

Peace and quiet

It was a lovely quiet and cosy Bach. The beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect to explore the surrounding area and then be able to return to the quiet of the bay. Bird watchers will be absolutely in their happy place. At the time of our visit only one burner worked on the BBQ. I would highly recommend not having limited data for WiFi in this day and age for guests.

Birds galore

I loved the tranquility, pure nature bliss. Woodpidgeons, Tuis at least 10 at the same time, Kakas, rosellas, kingfisher, fantail and more, I even heard a kookaburra
 As I needed time out, this was pure bliss. I loved the outdoor shower, and living down to earth. Thank you so much.

Semi retired couple who enjoy travelling between stints of minding grandchildren. We both grew up in a rural town in Franklin district, south of Auckland. Still live in same area today. During working life have lived overseas in Europe and South East Asia. Keen nature lovers .

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

The location is close to Matakana village with great access to Tawharanui, Omaha and Point Wells. The bach is positioned along a private ROW and is surrounded by native bush and vibrant bird life. The bach offers a picture frame view through native puriri, taraire and nikau trees out into Kawau Bay. The bach and surrounds offer comfortable accommodation and amenity access. This is ideal for couples and small families to experience a slice of greater Auckland away from the bustle of the city. The bach has a good range of facilities and extensive decking around three sides of the cottage. This is a safe setting for young families.
