Sawdon - Shearing Quarters Farm Cottage

Skjuvkvarteren ligger på Sawdon Station, en höglandsfårstation, 5 minuters bilresa till Lake Tekapo och 20 minuters bilresa till Fairlie.

Klippkvarnen är en byggnad som är inrättad för människor som klipper våra får en gång om året (i september). Våra klippare är en extremt viktig grupp människor som stannar upp till en vecka eller mer.
Detta boende är enkelt, med ett stort kök, värmepump, vedeld, fyra sovrum. Ställ in för klipparen, men är öppen för bokningar under andra månader. Det är ett retrohus, äldre möbler etc. Mer information om vår gård hänvisas till Sawdon Station på Google.

Stugan stängd för vinterperioden 1 juni till slutet av september. Skicka e-post till din förfrågan om du vill stanna under en längre tid under denna period.

Vänliga husdjur får och Odie husdjur för barn att klappa, och husdjur kycklingar att hålla. Gratis wifi.

Utmärkt läge för familjer, som vill uppleva en gård, enormt område runt huset, för cricket, mountainbike, promenader, flygande drakar ...... Fantastiskt läge att fly från stressen i livet. Vi har högst 6 vuxna för denna stuga.

Full te, kaffe och socker levereras, men ingen mjölk. Behöver bara ta med dig dina kläder och mat.

Nära till Tekapo-sjön, med sina utmärkta varma pooler, Trippos vattenrutschbana, sommarrör, natthimlen, sjön för bad, båtkryssning och fiske. Gå till toppen av Mt John för världens bästa café och den bästa japanska restaurangen i landet! På vintern, två skidfält en (Roundhill) 30 minuter från stugan, och den andra (Mt Dobson) 40 minuter.

Stugan har hela dagen solen, massor av ved för att leverera den stora timmerskålen. Det omges av de spektakulära södra alperna och Mackenzie-bassängen. Genom att klättra på den lilla kullen bakom stugan kan du se miles, 360 grader - helt vacker på en kristallklar dag. Sällsynt fynd på detta fantastiska läge.

Beautiful farmhouse

What an amazing old farmhouse, lovingly restored by the owners. A fantastic place to stay while exploring the Lake Tekapo area. Would stay again any time!

The kids love it at Sawdon Station.

The kids love it at Sawdon Station. They get to go on a tractor ride and bottle feed the young sheeps. It was a great experience for the kids. Plus the whole family get to stay together in a big house with facilities to cook. If one is travelling from Lake Tekapo, must take a good look out on the left side of the road. We missed it the first time. Other than that, all was great.

Wonderful family getaway

We absolutely loved our time staying in the shearers' quarters at Sawdon Station. The location is the best of both worlds - you feel like you're miles from anywhere, but it's an easy five-minute drive from Tekapo. The accommodation was super cosy and comfortable, with a big stack of wood for a roaring fire, and magical views beyond the woolshed to the mountains. We loved collecting pinecones for the fire, having family dinners around the big kitchen table, and just standing outside gazing at the incredible starry sky! Sue was a lovely host who made sure we had everything we needed and gave us lots of great recommendations for local activities - including horse trekking, which was amazing. We really hope to come back one day!

Wonderful Getaway close to Tekapo

We had a fantastic few days there with family over the New Year period. Gazing up at the awesome starry night sky while welcoming in the New Year was a highlight! The Shearing Quarters was perfect for us, with plenty of space for all and a large lounge to play board games, cards etc or just reading a book. Close to Tekapo but gave us the feeling we were miles from the crowds in our own little slice of paradise!

The location was excellent.

The location was excellent. We were in the countryside which we loved but also very close to Tekapo to take advantage of what was on offer in the town. The property was a working farm and the grandchildren were able to bottle feed the orphaned lambs which we all loved. Sadly we just ran out of time for several of our family to be taken on a farm tour.

Clean, spartan and rustic. Wifi! Our children were fascinated by all the rabbits and really enjoyed to go for mountain climbs on their own in the evenings. Nice place considering the price.

Property was ideal for a family break, near to the attractions of Tekapo, but giving the added benefits, of spacious family accommodation, at a reasonable price. The farm location added another dimension to the holiday, and we all enjoyed exploring around the house, meeting the family, and seeing the sheep dogs at work, all with 360 degree views of the mountains.

The location was great for an extended family, allowing us to enjoy the outside areas for backyard cricket and exploring. A truly wonderful place for children, complete with young lambs to encounter at this time of year. A wonderful time had by all.
