We had such a fabulous stay at this peaceful, private little forest cabin. Despite it being mid-winter it was cosy and snug. It is a great location, nestled in the beech forest and a short meander down to the lake and national park. We hope to return!

Bush hideaway

We really enjoyed our stay in a real old-style bach out of our childhoods. The views straight into the beech forest were magical.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. Nicky was a fantastic communicator and very flexible with our needs.We had everything we needed, and the place was very clean and cosy.

Restful welcoming stay.

Cosy traditional bach in native woods with beautiful bird song all around. Has a lovely homely ambience with everything you need and is obviously a well loved place to the family.

We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the amazing bird life, we had lots of visits from a friendly South Island Robin. The puzzles and kids toys were a really cool bonus

Peaceful location fabulous walking

A traditional bach set in the middle of the forest. Very peaceful and perfectly located for walking and the lake. It had everything we needed for a great stay.

The bach is set in a stunning location, very peacefully nestled in nature. Other properties are close by but the beech forest is so thick that you don't notice them. The host forgot our booking, oops, so the house perhaps wasn't prepared quite as usual, but she was very responsive and helpful. The fire kept the house cozy in the evening but it cooled quite a bit overnight so we were glad for the two portable electric heaters. Note that there is no washing facility, if you intend on a longer stay. Thanks for sharing your special family bach with us Nicola!

Cute, cosy and warm.

Great place to stay. A short walk down the track at the end of the road to the Lake . Place was cosy and warm in arrival, thanks to Nicky the host. Comfy beds and plenty of fire wood. And clean too. Loved our stay. Thanks.

lovely family bach. In the middle of beech trees with beautiful birdsong. Well equipped and comfortable with an excellent fire which heated the whole bach.
