Fantastisk utsikt över vattnet och säker badstrand bara några meter bort. Titta på solnedgången från vinterträdgården och / eller oljeraffinaderiets lampor tänds på andra sidan hamnen.
Sitt och titta på brislingarna hoppa eller ibland delfiner i bukten.
Ligger på en lugn utan utgångsväg med en ramp till vattnet. Privat bakre däck med skugga segel. Bach är en traditionell "kiwibach", den är inte modern men har sin egen charm.
Gott om fiske och dykning från stranden eller från en båt. Nära till Hen and Chicken Island. Strandlansering för båt.
Välkända Mt Maniaia erbjuder utmärkt utsikt och promenader. Också många andra promenader i området.
Barnlekplats 2 minuters promenad bort.
5 minuter till ett lokalt licensierat café, god mat både äta i och takeaway. Gångavstånd till en mejeri. Bensin och ytterligare shopping cirka 10 minuters bilresa.

Great location and view

The house was big enough for all of us. Location is great. Right on the shore. It has everything you need and is OK for the price, but is quite dated and the different floor levels are a challenge for older people. Also no smoke alrms that we could see.

So close to the water

Great views, so close to the water. Clean. Note : Access to property is not off the street address but a track between the water and few house along the water. As explained in message from host, this is a traditional kiwi bach - meaning sheets, pillowcases, towels, teatowels and toilet paper need to be brought with you.

The perfect family getaway

The hosts description of this bach is 100% on point. Me and my family absolutely loved it from the moment we walked in and would love to go back again. The house definitely has its 'quirks' but its so homely and the view is amazing. I worried about dishes and what i should have brought just in case leading up to arrival but there is no shortage. Overall it was the perfect getaway and i would definitely go again. Highly recommended.

Taurikura Bay Bach

This is a traditional old kiwi bach with quirks &, as was explained by our host, it is not a motel & not new, it was clean & comfortable & just what we expected. We are used to such bach's, it was ideal for us for the one night being right by the Bay & we enjoyed our stay there.

This is a real kiwi bach right on the water front. Great views over the bay with many boats taking advantage of a well sheltered safe place to swim and play.

The area and location of the house blew us away. Such a beautiful and peaceful place. We spent hours swimming and kayaking in the safe, clean breathtaking bay of Taurikura.

A step back in time

The description on the listing is really accurate. Don’t stay if you want swanky and sleek but definitely stay if you want no wifi so you and kids just get out and about and enjoy the kayaks, games fishing etc . The house is very quirky definitely on a lean which was fun! Well supplied with all your basics, very quiet location really friendly neighbour. Property owner really responsive to our queries. We had someone in a wheelchair stay and stayed downstairs. Entrance easy if you have portable ramps. Toilet was a. Issue but we overcame this by using public toilet in next bay over no problem!

Family getaway

Beautiful location with beautiful veiws plenty of space for the family park at the end of the road which is handy for the kids if you have kids make sure you pack them aqua shoes as theres sharp rocks and shells at beachfront its not a sandy beach was good to take kayaks out kids enjoyed that alot and got to have a fish when the tide was high the no wifi was good for our family had kids off there devices and outside exploring

Unacceptable

There was no hot water in the shower, the bedding and bedrooms smelled awful -- my daughter said the downstairs bed smelled like vomit -- but worst of all for me who has a rodent phobia, we saw three mice in the kitchen area. I know it is not expensive and it has a wonderful location but I don't feel the above are acceptable.

Dirty and unloved.

Overall the disclaimer of this property being a kiwi bach was a very fair description. We could have coped with the sloping floors and gaps in the doors and windows, it was the dust, mouse droppings, blown fuses inhibiting our ability to use any power outlets on one side of the house and general lack of love that made it disappointing. The skirting’s were so dusty, it was evident they hadn’t been vacuumed in at least a year, maybe more. The shade sail mentioned in the listing (which is huge) was dumped in one of the bedrooms without regard. There were mouse droppings on the spare roll of toilet paper under the bathroom sink. The water pressure in the shower is non existent. The fuse that operates one side of the house and all the downstairs power outlets is faulty. Phases in and out. Which meant we couldn’t watch tv or plug heaters in. It also meant I was unable to vacuum downstairs before our departure because there were no working power points. The bag for the vacuum cleaner is incorrect, so the vacuum cleaner is working but the filter is in dire need of replacement. I vacuumed the skirtings before we left because I couldn’t possibly have left them the way they were. The key unlocks the downstairs door but this isn’t made clear, so we spent the first 20 minutes trying every lock on the upstairs landing (the key fits all these keyholes making it even more confusing). The location was lovely. It needs a bloody good clean.
