A Charming Stay at Burney
The house had a wonderful layout. It was kid friendly and very comfortable and charming. It was so beautiful and I immediately felt the care and love put into this home. It literally had everything we needed as if we were at home away from home and the fact that there was even a high chair and kid friendly dishes shows how much the owner cares about families. The location is convenient to downtown and any local tourist site in all directions. The yard was nicely fenced and very large with a fruit tree! The owner was readily available and helpful when situations arose. I would actually give a 4.5/4.75 if I could. The only reason why I am not giving a 5 is because there is no backup power supply for outages which tend to be common in the area per the locals and this posed an emergency health risk to our family who has to have power all the time. There literally is nowhere to go during a lightning storm and they cut off power to the whole town and surrounding areas. The owner was very friendly and concerned, trying to help us in our situation even though she was an hour away and she even maintained contact thereafter to ensure our accommodations continued to be comfortable and safe. PGE didnât care and wasnât helpful. The local hospital would have been the only place to plug in CPAP machines for those on emergency protocol. Overall, I LOVED this house and I LOVE this owner. She was very personable and genuine. And most of all, I LOVED our trip! We saw Burney Falls, Fall River Museum, Mt Lassen, the Junkyard Art, etc. We will book this stay again! Highly recommend to everyone! We have NO REGRETS! If I was ever in a blackout again, there is no other place I would want to be!
