Welcome to CAROLINA HAVEN - a unique paradise that truly has it all. Beautiful, spacious A-frame situated close to the water with exceptional views of the lake - both from the inside of house, the wrap around deck and the exceptional TWO TIER Dock. This paradise is perfectly positioned right off the main lake at between marker #5 and 6 for easy access by water or by land. Located on a quiet cove with calm, glass like waters - perfect for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. The two tier dock is an experience of its own - where you can enjoy drinks at the Tiki bar, wade in the 1 foot deep water at the bulkhead or get adventurous and jump off of the top dock into 14 feet deep water. If wakeboarding, tubing and skiing. is more your plan - just 1/4 mile away is the main lake for the fast action. In side this spacious haven you will find a fully stocked open kitchen, 4 spacious bedrooms including two main bedrooms, an inviting living room area with fire place and a game room for the kids with fooseball, knock hockey and board games. Right outside the house you can relax in a shaded breezy hammock, freshen up in the outdoor shower, roast smores at the fire pit or read a book in the screened in porch. Located just a 5 minute drive from town for grocery shopping, pizza, shopping and more. This lakehouse truly has it all. Fees include cleaning fee, fresh linens and paper products. Great week at the lake

For families that love hanging out on the dock, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and fishing, this place was wonderful. The dock was double decker with plenty of room, and deep water to jump off the top. There was also an amazing outdoor shower under the stairs. The view was great too, and the lot was beautifully treed and private. There were two large king bedrooms (a rare find at the lake) and they were very comfortable, an added bonus. One extra large bathroom was on the second floor with the two kings. The queen and bunkroom were on the main level. They were on the smaller side but suited our needs. There was a second full bath on the main floor. There was enough seating for all nine of us to sit around for dinner and plenty of inside and outside hang out spaces. The kids loved the arcade game in the basement. The basement was alittle smaller than it appears in the pictures, but served us well (we did not use as a sleeping space). The kitchen was galley style so a little tight for two spolied cooks, but well stocked and plenty of fridge space (there was even an extra under counter fridge that we didn’t realize for a couple of days). The owner was especially responsive and pleasant- I’d say above and beyond for us as our car broke down the day before checkout. Note: If this ever happens to you, call Lake Gaston Auto Repair. Thanks for the wonderful stay- we very much enjoyed it!

Summer 2024

Great place to stay. Off the main lake where it is safe for the kids yet a couple hundred yards to the main lake. Kids love jumping off the upper deck. This was our 2nd time staying here and we will definitely be back.

Great location on lake

The house is in a great location and the dock has everything. Boat lift, top deck with opening gate to jump into water. Also a propane fire pit on top deck. Spent most of are time on deck.

Amazing Vacation

I spent time with friends and family for a summer vacation over the July 4th holiday. The house was perfect and had all the needed amenities and more! The property manager was very informative and responsive before and during our stay.

Lovely get-away for the whole family

My family and I had a wonderful time at Kristin's. It was clean, quiet, spacious, and had everything we needed for a 3 day get-away. The game room, bikes and boats kept all the kids busy and active. The view was beautiful and I wish we could have spent another week at this peaceful oasis.

Excellent Family Getaway

This lakefront home was perfect in every way! We spent most of our time outside enjoying the paddle boat, kayaks, fire pit , and the two tier dock. The views are amazing! The owners thought of everything to make this vacation very easy! I highly recommend this home!!

We didn't want to leave

We had a fabulous week at this property. What a great location on the lake. We spent almost every day on the dock fishing or playing games and relaxing. This location was a wonderful halfway point for family in Florida and New Hampshire. Lots of space to be together and space to go off and read or watch your favorite show.

Amazing

Spring break 2024. Took my kids and grandkids, and friends to this lovely home and had a blast. The lake activities were fabulous. The owner of property, Joe, was very easy going, understanding and just a text away. Will be back!

Relaxing, fun, and beautiful!

This property is exactly as shown in pictures and description. It has EVERYTHING you need and the communication with property owner is great. We were amazed at the attention to detail and foresight the owners had in stocking the house and pier. Beautiful location! We vacationed with another family so 4 adults and 4 young kids, the trip was flawless. Everyone had a wonderful time!!! Highly recommend this location.

Winter get away

We really enjoyed our stay. The outdoor gas fire pit and indoor fireplace is what sold us on booking. We used them both and it was awesome. It is easy to get in to the grocery store, about 7 minutes drive. We even took the paddle boat out into the cove on the 56 degree day. It is set on a nice quiet cove on the lake. The beds were really comfortable and the decor was tasteful and festive for the holidays. Thanks so much! We would definitely recommend this property!

Terrific Lake House

This place was fabulous! We enjoyed the beautiful house and the lake view was so great from the two story deck. We had many happy hours lakeside! Kristin was helpful with the reservation and Joe was just a phone call away the five days we were there! He was so humorous and helpful my friends (all in our 60’s) were calling him my BFF. Young and old would absolutely enjoy this beautiful lake property! I’d love to have my family gather there. Thank you very much for the memories we made there.

Best location, host and amenities!

Our family had an amazing time here for Thanksgiving! There was so much for all of us (ages 9 to 72) to do even though we didn't go in the lake. Our first impression was, "Wow, look at that view, right on the water!" My daughter and I went out on the paddleboard a couple of times, my husband and I took the bikes for a ride around the quiet neighborhood, everyone took the pedal/paddle boats out for a spin (so don't let age or limited physical ability hold you back!), we roasted s'mores at the fireplace, hung out on the dock, and my kids and husband had a blast in the downstairs gameroom. The kitchen is the most well-equipped I have seen in my vacation rental stays. The hosts were very helpful, generous and easy to get in contact if needed. Definitely recommend!

Weekend at the lake house

This spacious home provided a perfect getaway for our two families. The living space had several areas to interact, either all together or separate if desired. Bedrooms were well appointed with kids in the bunk room and parents with their own room. Bathrooms were large and had plenty of hooks and space for your stuff. The kitchen had everything we needed plus a separate beverage cooler! We enjoyed lunch on the back deck, we sipped coffee on the rooftop boat house by the propane fire table, we made a fire in the firepit at night, the kids rode their scooters in the cul de sac. I could go on and on with the positive aspects of this home. I would highly recommend and would rent again in a heartbeat.

PERFECTION!!

We rented Carolina Haven as a long overdue family vacation and to celebrate our daughter’s graduation, 18th birthday, and our anniversary. We had 8 people and the bedrooms and layout all worked perfectly for everyone. The house is exactly as described, and is in a perfect location on the lake, everything is BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, and WONDERFUL!! We caught a bunch of fish everyday, loved swimming in the lake and jumping off the docks. We played games daily and had a wonderful time soaking up the sun and spending time together. This truly felt like home away from home. We’ve already started looking at dates for our next trip back! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Joe and Kristin are very kind and a pleasure to work with! We had the pleasure of chatting with Joe on the dock one day while HVAC repairs were being done, and we throughly enjoyed his company, we could have chatted for days! :-) Many thanks for opening your home to us! 158th Birthday Family Weekend

This was a great family weekend for us and long overdue. No I am not exaggerating the 158th birthday lol. (Hubbies 40th, father in laws 75th, nephews 23rd, and nieces 20th) I know that is a lot to take in but it was a wonderful weekend and fun for all. I can not say enough great things about our host Kristin and Joe. For only owning this property for a short time, they have really gone out of their way to make sure that all of our needs were met and that we were comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything that we needed for a weekend in at the lake. Any questions that I had throughout our stay Kristen was quick to respond and always a joy to talk with. We had 3 couples and 3 adult children in our party and everyone was very happy with the house and the space. We enjoyed the wonderful lake views. Even though it was a bit chilly the kids enjoyed jumping from the dock and swimming as well as taking the paddle boat out of the cove. We also enjoyed playing a number of the games that were provided while watching college football on Saturday. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Kristen and I cant wait to see the many updates they have planned for the property and look forward to booking again.

An Epic Retirement Celebration

An unforgettable time was had this past weekend at Lake Gaston. The grand finale of our retirement celebration took place with family and friends. We created lifelong memories. The home was a perfect space for hosting with an abundance of delicious food, refreshing drinks, heartfelt laughter and fun. Our guests drove from Georgia, Virginia, and all over North Carolina to be with us and share in the joy. EVERYTHING was perfect. The beds were comfortable, the linen and towels were hotel quality. The kitchen amenities were fabulous and clean. We had more than enough sleeping space. An easy check-in and check-out process. The homeowner communicated very timely and was very accommodating. The location of the home was on a quiet street and not too far from hotels for our guests. We had sufficient parking space. We will definitely will return!
