Everything met our expectations. Slept six comfortably. The stairs are a bit steep which might be an issue for some but was fine for us. We appreciated the movies that were provided.

Lovely location and cute home w lots of beds. The only drawback was that the First floor bedroom smelled musty. Otherwise, quite lovely.

Thank you for your response. We will look into that bedroom. It could be from the basement below. Maybe there’s some moisture down there. I typically have a dehumidifier running but maybe it’s not working again thank you for staying and we will look into that. Hope to have you back someday.

Nice place

Very clean with lots of beds. Could have used more pots and pans in kitchen otherwise we had everything that we needed. Location was excellent close to downtown and beach.

The house was in a perfect location, we really enjoyed downtown Boyne City and the beach. We were in town for a wedding at The Lavender Hill Farm, which was only 10 mins away- FYI. Lots of sleeping space but only one bathroom which makes it hard to all get ready. House could be updated but it did the trick.

Thank you for your input yes I know one bathroom is a bit tricky. That’s why I put in a tankless so at least we have endless hot water, but the future plans is to add a bathroom upstairs in the closet that would help immensely.

Eclectic older home

This stay was great for kids because they had a lot of freedom on where to sleep. Also, they loved building a fire every nite. Location was close to water and stores.

Perfect for a trip to Skybridge

Chris was amazing to work with. He was very attentive to me contacting him. The house was very, very clean. The location was great - we walked downtown several times. We fit everyone in the living room for games and that's what we cared about! Would stay here again.

Exactly as expected

We found the description exactly as was stated. Communication was quick with the owner. We loved the location because we walked to the beach both days. Quiet, pretty neighborhood very close to downtown.

We had a nice stay overall and appreciated several thoughtful touches that made the trip enjoyable—especially for the kids. The Wii and selection of games were a big hit (even though only one controller was working), and the DVD player with a variety of movies was a great backup for downtime. The home also offered plenty of beds and mirrors, which worked well for our group, and the kitchen was stocked with pans and a few spices that made cooking easier.There were a few areas that could use some attention to make the experience even better for future guests. With a group of 10, having additional towels available would be helpful. A few minor maintenance items came up during our stay, such as a broken pour spout on the coffee pot, a loose toilet lid, and a flickering lamp that appeared to need a repair. There was also a transition strip between floors that may need to be secured, as it could be easy to trip over.Overall, the home has a lot of potential and some great amenities—just a few updates and small fixes would really elevate the experience.

Chris was very helpful and communication was fantastic. I sent him questions before our trip and during our stay and both times he promptly replied. We enjoyed the location of the property and loved walking around downtown Boyne City and going to Peninsula Beach. We also appreciated how many beds there were and the layout of the large room upstairs - it’s great for kids!However, there were a few things that I wish were different about the property:1. We planned to have a bonfire and roast hotdogs/marshmallows one night, but the bonfire pit is not usable. There is a bunch of old plywood and some wires in there and the rocks around the border of the pit have sunk into the ground. We were worried that even if we cleaned out the fire pit, it would catch the grass on fire.2. The grill wasn’t usable. Our backup plan was to grill the hotdogs, but there was no propane (or grill cleaning tools). Also, the grill was very rusty and looked like it hadn’t been used in years.3. The rocks in front of the door are riddled with broken glass.4. The driveway is lined with old railroad ties and there are nails and old rebar sticking out of them. There is also an old t-post that is sticking several inches out of the ground and is bent over - we were worried these things would catch on legs or pants.5. The house was not ready at check-in. When we arrived, there was a car in the driveway and the house was unlocked. Chris helped resolve the issue, but we felt uneasy at first.

Definitely not the Marriott

While the home has some bright spots, mostly the location, when I read in the description- “This home is not super fancy like the Marriott but it’s a great get away, super clean and cozy” I knew it wasn’t going to be anything special, but unfortunately this house failed to meet those tempered expectations. The primary issue was the cleanliness of the house or lack thereof. First walking in we noticed it was barely surfaced clean, definitely hasn’t been deep cleaned in months. The floors were just ok, with dirt pushed to the edges, barely dusted; window sills were filled with dust, bugs and paint chips, which considering the age of the house and windows, likely contain lead. In the bathroom, the shower curtain was moldy and hair was left in the tub. All wall vents, registers, returns are disgusting and caked with dirt and dust. Additionally the house, specifically the upper bedroom, had a musty urine odor, which we eventually pinpointed the source as a wet Pull-up Diaper under one of the beds. Along with the sills being dirty, there were other concerns with the windows with many being painted shut, others being broken and taped and one in the living room missing a pane all together and covered with plastic wrap (there was a storm window in place thankfully). Honestly these would probably be minor things that you would usually laugh off and chalk up to being an older house, but were heightened by our dissatisfaction with the less than clean state we found the house.

Absolutely incredible location. Very easy walk down to the lake and to the town as well! Plenty of beds and space for a group to rest at the end of the day. Genuinely cant reccomend this enough. It served me and my group perfectly for our weekend.

Great spot, meets vacation needs

This served as our home base as we made excursions to Charlevoix, Petoskey and Boyne. We were extremely pleased with the amenities and comfort; the home has everything you need - roomy LR, good kitchen, good outdoor space. Location can't be beat, walk to beach and longer pleasant walk to downtown. The owner was very accommodating. AC reaches the 1st and 2nd floor BR's really well (put the kids up on the 3rd floor and use the fans). Because of its age, there are nonconforming stairs, a couple of smaller door openings, and a couple of level changes between rooms you have to get used to, so take care with little kids, seniors and very tall people. We are so pleased and thankful to have found a house that fit our needs in our budget; it was the only way we were able to make this trip for a family wedding.

Boyne City

Property is as described. Of course another bathroom would be great, but as mentioned there was plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure. The location to downtown and the beach is a short walk or drive. Very convenient location. The owner responded very quickly to questions and based on previous reviews sounds like he continuously will be improving on the property. Plenty of place to stay and the beds were comfortable. Visit boyne city!
