HAVE YOUR HOLIDAY GATHERING AT THE SHADY PINE!

We're excited to share The Shady Pine with you!

The cabin is newly furnished and extra cozy. It's well equipped with lightning fast fiber optic WIFI, Smart TV, a full kitchen, coffee bar, and an extra-long dining table. All beds are brand new and all linens are white. Outside you'll find the hot tub, firepit, and lots of rocking chairs and seating options.

There is a ping-pong table, corn hole boards, mini air-hockey table, old time record player, TV with video games and a DVD player with movies in the garage. Great spot for kids or to flip open the garage doors on a nice day and enjoy time with family and friends. You will also find an old-timey, hand crank, ice cream maker for your use.

Outdoors, there are lots of relaxing options from the covered porch, outdoor breakfast table, rocking chairs, and firepit. And, don't forget the hot tub!

There are several marinas who rent by the hour or day. The Shady Pine is located 1.5 miles from Browns Ford boat ramp. Plenty of parking and trailer storage.

We have two, adult-size KAYAKS for your use during boating season (April 15-Oct 15). We will also provide (2) adult-size life jackets,(2) child-size life jackets, and oars.

**Please note: Our walkway to the cove is 120 steps and may be difficult for small children or some older people to manage.

Cove Conditions:
Please Note: Barren River Lake is at summer pool April 15-Oct 15. Our cove varies in depth during this time from 3' to 30' depending on how much rain we get and the Corp of Engineers. We are at the lower/fishing end of the lake, always good for kayaking during summer pool.

Our cove could be dry during Oct 15-March 15. But, still a great atmosphere and plenty of nature to explore.

This house is fantastic!! It is beautiful, the view is gorgeous, the dock for fishing is great, the beds are comfortable, the game/ play area in the basement was so much fun and is a great place to hang out, and the owners have gone above and beyond providing everything you could possibly need! There are so many little touches that make your stay easy and relaxing. They have little signs everywhere explaining how things work (which is so very helpful in a rental home), they provide blankets for the campfire, campfire supplies, tons of gaming equipment, cozy blankets for the living room, and so many other things! The hot tub was very clean and worked well. We travel multiple times a year and have stayed at a lot of vacation homes and this host was by far one of the best to work with and one of the best at providing everything you could need! We highly recommended this home!

We had a nice relaxing time at the Shandy Pine. Everything we needed to cook and grill was there. We wanted to kayak but the dock was damaged by recent flooding, and the other dock was kind of a haul, so we decided to rent a boat from a marina on the lake instead. We Definitely recommend that! The hot tub was also a great alternative. The kids and adults loved the game room! There were so many tiny details that made us feel right at home! Thank you for sharing your little slice of peace with us!

Wonderful Family Vacation

Our family enjoyed a wonderful time at the cabin. It was very clean and inviting with clear instructions/ labels throughout. There were so many things to enjoy from hot tub to kayaking on the lake to ping pong and air hockey. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable escape for the family and a close drive to Mammoth Cave which we had wanted to visit for the first time. Highly recommended!

This is how it should be when you rent a home.

Our stay at this cabin was wonderful! The hosts ensure that you are well taken care of. Opening up their home, every part of it. One of my biggest pet peves staying in rentals is the host has so many rules, or things you can't do, or you literally have to bring everything to enjoy your stay. At this cabin, they know how to host! They thought of it all, offering to use anything they have and offering all the suppliers you need to not have to worry about making a store run. We were so relaxed staying here. Very cozy, decorated perfectly and not too far from places to venture too. We were greated with a sweet welcome gift and it topped the stay off like a cherry on a sundae. Beds were comfortable, hot tub was relaxing, games were fun to play, and the basement area was also a good place to hang out in. Truly will come here again. Thank you for sharing your home with us, it was beautiful.

Great spot.

Area is great for fishing. Water was 30 feet above summer pool. If water was closer to normal depth, this part of the lake would be ideal for bass, crappie, catfish, and any panfish you might be fishing for.

Perfect Spring Break Getaway

Beautiful cabin tucked into a private area of the lake. The cabin was decorated very tastefully and we had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. My daughter loved the game room downstairs and hot tub. She also liked fishing in the lake. Gorgeous views from the cabin.

Loved it!!

Stayed here for a very relaxed bachelorette party/girls weekend. The cabin was fantastic (we were all very impressed)! Melissa was great about sending us a list of things to do in the area and responded quickly. The cabin was super clean and very well stocked with all of the essentials plus a ton of games, s’more supplies, and an “in case you forgot something” basket. The beds were comfortable (even the day bed). Many of us said we would love to return for another trip. Reception isn’t great at the cabin/the surrounding area but we all had a good WiFi connection :) You may have to drive a little ways to get to things to do/restaurants, but we didn’t mind this at all
 the surrounding area is very pretty. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would 100% recommend.

Thanksgiving getaway

This beautiful & well appointed cabin is all it is described as, and more! All of my family, ages 10 & up 6 of us) thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Warm Welcome

From the minute we walked into the house, we felt welcomed. Carefully placed, hand-written cards encouraged us to enjoy all the place had to offer. The space is well-designed for a larger group. The kitchen had every thing you'd need to cook big dinners to serve around a wonderful dining room table. The home was wonderfully decorated and clean. The host was easy to reach with any questions. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to take advantage of all there was to enjoy. We have already recommended the place to others who plan to be in the area.

Beautiful cabin

Well appointed, beautiful setting! Loved all.the attention to detail both inside and outside. So welcoming and relaxing. The lake is down the hill. The stairs to the pathway are a little steep but manageable. Lake was a bit murky. There is a dock for use which is nice. Saw a couple of deer. Enjoyed everything from the hot tub to the games in the garage. A great mini vacation! Thank you for such a lovely place!

Wonderful stay even tho it rained

This was an incredible place to stay. Loved the old woods (incl the drive in), the house, the hot tub, the deck, fire pit. So comfortable. So many thoughtful touches. Decor was so well done but also so inviting. Our only disappointment was the weather. Our usual m.o. in nature is to be outside for everything possible. Unfortunately, most of our visit was rainy. We had so much fun as a family playing games in the basement with the garage open, tho, enjoying the sounds of rain. Enough reprieves in the weather tho to enjoy the fire pit and hot tub a few times each, and somewhat the deck, but never got to kayak. The lake was also 12’ over normal, and trying to get a kayak off the shore (too many of the trees in the way) looked like more than we could swing anyway. I seem to remember the posting for this property didn’t guarantee lake access. It’s true. If kayaking is a must, choose another property. This place is a gem otherwise. And so is the owner.
