Friends - We don’t usually post reviews of our stays. We are going to make an exception this time. I won’t go into details about the 90s thread bare décor, the beautiful mountain views we couldn't see from the living room because the blinds didn’t work in the multistory windows, or the batteries we had to supply for the tv remotes and smoke detectors (!) oh- and the two broken humidifiers. No, let’s focus on the first impression. We showed up to find a 200 foot drive way at an EXTREMELY steep incline that was half covered with ice, not snow (which we could have easily dealt with). The owner, it appears, had not plowed the snow in quite some time, just running over it with a 4-wheel drive vehicle and turning it to ice. We were stuck at the bottom of this hill and had to carry all our belongings up this treacherous drive. My husband fell twice, and my daughter could barely stay upright. My husband and I are mid 50s, in great shape, and we used 200 lbs of salt, and 4 days of multi hour sessions of cracking the 3” thick ice to clear the drive. We had called VRBO who was of no assistance- they suggested we work it out with the owner. Ha. The owner told us it was Christmas, and we could just move out if we didn’t like it (!) Where would we go? It was December 23rd! My friends, this one is a non-starter. The only positive was the incredible view. It was amazing. But, not enough to convince us to ever return.
